If you are planning to attend a Concealed Carry Class, Pistol Safety Academy should be the absolute go-to choice for you! I took a Concealed Carry Class many years ago from a different facility/instructor. I haven't been shooting for quite a while, so I decided to take the class again as a refresher. Thankfully, I chose Pistol Safety Academy. The thing I remember most about the first class I took in 2000, was how incredibly difficult it was to stay awake during the classroom portion. I couldn't imagine how the instructor could have made it any more of a snoozer! I was really dreading sitting through that part yet again. But I was pleasantly surprised at how Ed made the classroom portion informative but definitely NOT boring! His classroom portion was interesting, entertaining, and interactive. Not only did I re-learn things I had forgotten, but I also learned important facts that I was never even taught at the other facility! Once you're on the firing range, safety takes top priority. Before any shots are fired, Ed works with each participant to answer any and all questions. His goal is to ensure that everyone understands what they will be doing once he begins giving commands, and that they are comfortable with their weapon. I really can't say enough good things about Ed, from his great personality to his knowledge of guns and gun laws. If you are planning to take any of the classes that Pistol Safety Academy offers, do yourself a favor and call Ed first. I attended the North Carolina Concealed Carry class at the Pistol Safety Academy today and found the facilities and the instructor to be top level and informative. I learned a few things that I had not even considered during my previous firearms training. Ed was not an instructor who put you to sleep but one who made you think. I moved to Raleigh from Pennsylvania where I held a concealed carry permit. NC required me to pass a certified concealed carry class in order to obtain a new permit here in NC. I choose the Pistol Safety Academy for my certification. My instructor was Ed, he made the class fun and interactive. He brought years of experience and knowledge to the table. let me start by first saying I found Ed to be a super instructor. I chose the NC concealed carry course and I found his website very easy to use to register for the desired course. If you have any questions or concerns, I found Ed will respond immediately to either your text or email. Day of class. Once all the administration is out of the way it's time to get to the period of instruction. As I previously stated, I found Ed to be a super instructor. His knowledge and personality made this eight hour class both informative and fun. Ed took what could have been a very long dry an boring class and turned it into a very informative, fun and engaging class. He did not rush through the material, he took the time necessary to answer all our questions before we moved on. I can confidently say you need not worry, upon completion of this course you'll have all the knowledge you need to be competent in the do's and don'ts in the laws pertaining to concealed carry. Once you've completed the class room portion you take the exam. I know some people are concerned about taking test however, let me assure you if you took good notes during the class, you'll have no problem passing the exam. Once you move from the class room, you'll move to the range. Ed has complete control of the firing line so rest assured everyone is safe. If you listen to the and then follow all the commands you'll have no problem. Ed will ensure all shooters are ready to fire on the range. He will conduct one on one training on the firing line, to ensure each student is holding the weapon correctly and understand both sight picture and sight alignment. Once Ed is sure the firing line is ready, just listen carefully and execute all commands exactly as he calls out. You'll fire 10 rounds from the 3 yard line, 5 yard line and 10 rounds from the 7 yard line. There is no rush so take your time and apply your training and you'll do great. I am a retired Marine and if Ed could teach me something, I know he can do the same for you.
