We were apart of a very affordable program for a little over two years, Champions in Motion - Durham. We matriculated levels throughout the program through the hard work, dedication, perseverance, and tenacity of the cheerleaders, and parents that i proudly call my family now. It is unfortunate that the company did not match the same kind of efforts that the team and parents put fourth. The motivation, self-esteem building, development and skill building skills, all came to a gradual halt as we moved from level three to a level four status, which is unfortunate. It was a very disappointing experience that the cheerleaders and parents endured. The girls experienced a very emotional downward roller coaster that could have impacted their self-esteem and desires to cheer. It seems like almost every year the company has had to produce a new coach in Durham since we have been there. The coaches do not get the support they need from the organization. When we started with the program the first coach left in the middle of the season and we got a new coach who managed 17 teams then left and another one took over. Since we have had the new coach it has been very interesting and not in the best way. It was not a pleasant season for the girls at all. It appeared that the girls were asked basically to teach themselves without true guidance and support from the coach. The coach reported that she has the girls come in and do the work on their on. It was shocking to hear from the cheerleaders that the coach meant what she said that she was providing little to no support to them. They were basically coaching themselves. She appeared to stand back and watch without correction. She repeatedly would inform the parents that the cheerleaders were doing bad and appeared frustrated. The parents would ask for specific details on what the girls needed to correct to no avail. When asked questions, or requested to provide a video of the routine or the music the coach we were reprimanded and also told not to practice at home. I am still unclear as to how the girls are supposed to progress to be champions if they are not getting guidance during practice, told not to practice at home, practice times were cut short on multiple occasions, without concrete suggestions on how to fix the issue. We experienced issues were from the beginning it was challenging because from week to week there was one or two girls potentially absent due to illness. The coach indicated that she could not teach the girls the routine because one of the cheerleaders was out instead of teaching them that they are on a national level team and should be versatile to keep the program moving forward. When parents requested clear details, videos, music, resolution suggestions, proper guidance and instruction for the girls, it was met with resistance and reprimands through strongly written BAND Notes, and then suspension letter. At no time, was a professional grievance process or discussion followed especially after the girls received what appeared to be a poorly coached season. We deserved due process which was not given. This is a very disappointing end to this now tarnished team. It is good that the cheerleaders have strong parents to lift them up after the demeaning disconnected practices and they endured. This was not just a cheer parent group, we have become a family. Ordinary we are not. The girls and parents are top notch. I wish that i can say the same for the organization that i once loved so much. It is a shame that the company did not appreciate what they have in dedicated parents and good coaches. The love for Champions In Motion Durham and the company is not so much anymore, it has diminished greatly. We have called, sent emails, with supportive evidence without a response. It is unfortunate that our thoughts and feelings did not matter. I put my daughter in the Champions in Motion - Greensboro TigerZ program back in January 2014. She entered as a Level 1 student with no cheer experience at all. We found about the program via flyer sent home from her school and she was excited. Her first season or so, we fought about going to practice but my rule was you don't quite on a team you agreed to start with. We have now been with the company for 9 seasons and she has earned a spot on the Level 3 team based on mastery of skills she has learned from the program! I couldn't be more proud of not only the cheerleader she is becoming, but the student-athlete, and young lady that she is becoming! The program teaches self-discipline, work-ethic, teamwork, respect, confidence, along with much more to build a well rounded individual. When we first started we had some rough patches, lack of communication etc. However, you can't judge anything by first experiences. The company quickly realized issues at hand, and hired our current coaching staff, whom have been with the girls for a little over 2 years now. They were always receptive to suggestions from parents, and pleasant to speak with at competitions. My daughter is challenged, advanced at her pace, and taught not only basic cheer motions, but stunts as well. She has learned how to do a proper cartwheel, round-off, both front and back walkovers, and is currently working on advanced tumbling skills. The coaching staff is patient, caring, and professional! The coaches instill dedication and hardwork by posting videos of routines for the children to be able to practice at home through the week. They are always encouraging them to do their best, and will challenge them to learn new things in order to increase the level of ability within the cheerleader. They truly have the cheerleaders interest at the forefront of all decisions. We have open communication with our team through a facebook team page, a parent liaison who sends emails on the coaches behalf, parent helpers that jump in to help on competition day with team make-up and bows, we are more than a team, we have become FAMILY! And with that, I couldn't imagine my daughter in the care of anyone else but Champions in Motion to further her cheerleading advancement. read more

My daughter is in the Burlington Cheer program with Coach Heather and my son is in the karate with Mr. Russ and they both are wonderful instructors and so engaging with the children. I have to admit when we first signed up for the cheer program I was skeptical because the classes were held in the gym of a local elementary school, but I gave it a chance to see how well my daughter would like it, and guess what she not only liked it, she LOVED it. In the last year and half my daughter has learned so much from her coaches with the add on of the tumbling classes she has learned how to do so many flips. I have to say you can't always judge a book by it's cover because we also tried out one of those expensive Martial Arts schools for 6 weeks and felt our 4 year old son wasn't learning anything but in less time a week our son seems to be interested and adsorbing the self defense tactics Mr. Russ is teaching them. I really feel that the Burlington Cheer program has an awesome cheer program with a huge parental support system because I feel like these ladies have become part of my family. I also feel that Mr. Russ' program in Burlington will continue to grow as word of mouth and additional advertisement gets out, I hope that we can participate in Burlington's parade in the future for both the cheer and karate because both locations are near the parade route and it would possibly spark interest from new families. read more

Let's start by saying if I could rate them a ZERO, I would. Do not waste your money on any of their programs. Yes, this program is inexpensive but spend your money on a more quality one. For a cheerleading program for kids, they don't care about your kids. They just care about the bottom line. The lack of communication and follow up is beyond words. The owners and their children run the program so if you have complaints and call the office you are probably talking to a family member. They showed up when the program was first starting and then you don't see them again until competition. They get rid of a coach without asking for the opinions of parents. The way that they notified parents was very unprofessional. If you are looking for a program that takes no ownership or responsibility, has poor communication, judging unfairness at competitions, overprice uniforms that include shipping charges although they are not shipped to you but delivered or picked up at the office, family run, liars, low cost, coaches that quit few weeks before competition, and I could probably list more, this is the company for you. Suggestions for the owners: Go back to school to learn how to run a business Show your parents and their kids that you care and that it's not about the bottom line Show your good coaches some respect Get judges that are unbiased read more

My daughter has been with CIM for two semesters now. She started out with no experience, she'd never done any type of team sport before. She was nervous going in without ever participating in anything like it, but after the first practice, she loved it! She went home and continued to work throughout the week on what she had learned. That was back in September, and now she has since tried out to move up a higher level, and she is excelling in the new level. She looks forward to classes each week and is always super excited for competitions. She has two great coaches that truly care about each student, and they encourage and challenge them to be better cheerleaders, and also better members of society. They have pushed the girls to better themselves as athletes, they teach them to work as a team and to support each other. Our daughter is more confident in herself and it shows all around, not just on the gym floor. I am thankful for the example the coaches have set for my daughter, and I look forward to the rest of this semester, and the semesters to come! read more

My daughter has been a part of Champions in Motion Burlington location for 10 years. Champions in Motion Cheer has taught my daughter so much. She has come out of her shell. We started with Coach Heather at Burlington location when she was five she is now going on 15 is on level seven. We are going on our seventh national competitions. She has tried out and made her middle school and high school cheer squads because of what she has learned with the Champions in Motion chair. I can't say enough about the Burlington location ask Coach Heather and Coach Josie are amazing. We have four more years before she ages out at the age of 18 and if I had to do it again I would definitely put her in Champions in Motion the Burlington Cheer location. read more

We now have a national level 4 team in Durham! Way to go. We leveled up and are up for the challenge, This is not just a cheer group, it has become family. The girls and parents are top notch. You won't find a more supportive team around. Our girls our growing in skill set, emotionally, physically, through hard work, motivation, determination, and self esteem building. I enrolled my daughter in the cheer and karate programs 9 yrs ago and we love the programs, knowledgeable coaches and Sensi. We have competed in tournaments and competitions and had a great time. The program is $7 a class and no contracts or I only had to pay if she was there. Some schools charge upward of $500 for a child to participate and they don't even get to keep the uniform. The last uniform was around $150 and it's ours to keep, of course the younger groups are cheaper. Both classes require commitment by both child and parent to get the most out of the program. My daughter has cheered with Burlington Cheer for 4 years now with Coach Heather. She is amazing with the kids and my daughter looks up to her in so many ways. She does not allow any rude or disrespectful behavior in her class. I can always go to her if I have any questions. Coach Heather always pushes the girls to do their best and you can clearly see that at competitions. Heather puts her heart into these girls and their cheers. The prices are the cheapest I have found in Alamance county as well and I would highly recommend this cheer company to anyone. read more

I have been a cheer parent for over 10 years. I'm not going to say the main office is perfect. I have had my own issues with the administration and with support for National squads. That being said, Coach Heather is the reason we drive from Hillsborough (where we started cheer) to Burlington every week. She holds her national girls to a high standard. She not only instructs cheer through dance, choreography and stunting; she also teaches strength, confidence and respect. There is no greater role model for my daughter than Coach Heather. read more

Unlike school cheer, Champions in Motion tries everything they can to make sure their cheerleaders have the best! Spring floors at competition, gyms to practice in, amazing awards and production at the competitions, and so much more!
