Cozy little shop nestled away in downtown cary, the name truly matches. Stumbled in here the other day and am glad to have found this local gem. This shop offers an absolutely incredible selection of yarn, every wall lined with well organized and curated threads. While some of the yarns are definitely a bit on the pricier side, they have fair prices for the quality of goods they are offering. The staff was friendly and quite helpful. I moved out of Cary, NC to Charlotte, NC and I miss this store! They always had or could get me the kind of yarn, colors, tools I needed and quantity. I miss this store! I was always greeted and asked what I needed, even helped me with my patterns. I could purchase plenty of the dye lot and if she didnt have enough there, she would place an order for me assuring I had enough of the same dye. Loved going here! I just live too far away now to drive by myself! I wish they had shuttle service from Charlotte to Cary, NC!!! read more

Warm and Fuzzy may make you feel exactly like that. It's a cute store that has yarn in all colors and types. If you're new to knitting or crocheting, they offer classes for beginners and the more experienced who may want to try something different. This place doesn't carry the everyday kinds of yarn, although there is some, but the yarn made in small batches, some hard-dyed, quite a few (but not all) from the US. The alpaca and marino yarns are particularly beautiful and soft. The other nice thing about W&F is the displays they have throughout of baby items like hats and capes and tiny little sweaters, as well as adult size scarves and the occasional pair of socks made from the yarn they sell. There's something about this store that inspires creativity. The owner was doing a good job of answering questions and offering advice to customers. There's a small room in the back where the classes are held, or for someone who just wants to stop by and get some advice. I like that Warm and Fuzzy also carries the accessories. When someone is ready to commit, it's good to have everything you need in one spot. You can pick up the needles, the yarn, and then join a class. read more

Warm 'n Fuzzy is a good name because this shop makes you feel like you are family the minute you walk through the door! This is especially nice if you need assistance in selecting yarn or tools for a project. I have been knitting for 50+ years and have to say that this is one of the nicest yarn shops I've ever visited. The selection is amazing and you really can find something for any project. These folks have a lot of know-how and are happy to share it with you and if you are a new knitter, they will help you get started. Veteran knitters looking for something different can find some lovely local yarns here. I'm from another state, but if I lived in North Carolina this would be my go to place! read more

My wife, who just became a certified Master Hand Knitter, and was just interviewed by Suzanne Bryan, and I were thrilled to see this shop as we walked around Cary, NC. We just had a fantastic lunch at Academy Street Bistro and were in a great mood. We walked in and were told by the cashier we could not stay without a mask. I did not have one. We had been in two local businesses and they did not even mention masking. The cashier at the yarn store did not ask any questions about whether we had natural immunity (which we both do) and did not ask that we keep social distance from the two other patrons in the store. I offered to leave and let my wife look around the shop, but she did not want to have me wait outside. We left and will never return. What a pitiful start to the Valentine's Day weekend! This shop has multiple selections. I did purchase yarn and other items. I went back to return the item, to find out that it can only be returned for store credit, and only if the yarn was not spun in a balls. Unfortunately, mine was spun. So she has not able to do anything. Any of this was not told to me when I purchased the items. I wish that this information was posted or told that the items would not be refundable or if it would be spun in a ball you would be stuck with it. I will not go back again. I've had nothing but great experiences here! The first time I walked into the store, the owner (or a very helpful employee) spent close to an hour helping me pick the best colors for my shawl. Wow! A thousand times WOW. There was a dizzying selection of indie dyed yarns to choose from and one of the nicest staffs I've ever met! They were even able to handle my loud craziness. The choices were genuinely overwhelming, so I decided on 4 skeins of Spun Right Round (after touching almost every hank of yarn in the shop!). I was in Raleigh on business and had a free afternoon so I did what any proper fiber addict does - find a local yarn shop! I always bring knitting with me when I travel and I'd made an error I didn't trust myself to fix unsupervised ;-). Rebecca was great. She helped me fix my mistake and was very welcoming as I spent about 90 minutes in her shop, poring over the broad selection of yarns, including some local hand-dyes that I had just enough room for in my suitcase. This is my favorite yarn store. They always have a great selection of yarn. I love going on Thursday nights for knit night. I love this store and everything snd everyone in it. I am a true beginner, yet they are friendly, supportive, and willing to help me get untangled when I need help -- which is very frequently. I drive there from downtown Raleigh and choose this shop over the onne just two miles from my home. Warm and Fuzzy has an excellent selection of high quality yarns. I enjoyed seeing many brands that I have never seen before. Down side, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling upon entering the shop. No one spoke to me or helped me at all after being there over 15 minutes. When I did get some help the girl was great but then it went down hill again when I was ready to purchase. owner was too busy talking and sitting to check me out and the helpful employee who helped me earlier was fixing a knout for problem at the cash register for a customer. I waited patiently but no one seemed to care about checking me out. Customer service needs attention in this shop. read more

My special needs friend and I stopped in on one of our afternoon outings and were surprised by our experience. There was loads of beautiful yarn and cool unique buttons, even a cute little dog relaxing on the main room's couch, but the one woman-- who apparently owns the store-- was so unwelcoming. We were acknowledged when we walked in after she ended her phone call. My friend began asking questions about her dog and she became very uninterested and disengaged as she continued to text and ignore my friend's questions. After being ignored, my friend moved on to the yarn. I had to call her attention to the material he was trying to ask her about, as she continued texting. As we wandered the store, clearly interested in discussing some of the materials, she never engaged with us again and when we reached out to her, she seemed almost bo I understand if you have business to take care of, but it can wait if you have a customer in the store, ESPECIALLY someone who is only browsing. The way you treat those who 'have nothing to offer you' really says a lot about a business. Despite the materials at a glance and the quaintness of the shop, I am very disappointed with our experience. Update: we stopped in a second time and they were much friendly (there was another woman along with the one that was alone the first time we stopped in). The other woman immediately greeted us and remained engaged, while the woman from last time was much more attentive and friendly but still significantly less than you'd hope the face of a business could be. Still skeptical, but pleased we didn't have two terrible encounters. read more

I had hopes for a good experience, however, far from it. I was interested in obtaining a pattern which was advertised 'we will get you the pattern'. So I purchased an $8 skein of yarn only to find out the shop does not 'get' you the pattern. They send a link to the pattern on Raverly which you have to pay $5 for!. I sent email to shop and was insulted by the responder, saying she was shocked I felt deceived .... read more

I will never go here again. Apple Maps said the store was closed even though the website said differently. I called to confirm that they were open and the lady said that they were. When I get there the lady was giving a lesson which was fine, but she didn't acknowledge me. When I finally do ask for help she walked me to the shelf, shows me something, and tells me she's giving a private lesson. She asked me to do my shopping for a while and she would help me eventually. 20 minutes pass and she never says another word to me. The selection wasn't that great and I didn't find what I was looking for anyway, but I don't think I would've bought it there. She was so rude. If she didn't want a customer to come in she should've told me on the phone that she was in the middle of a private lesson and would be no help to me so I didn't waste my time. I cried when I got to my car because the interaction was so terrible. read more

I recently went in with a question about a project I am working on, and both women were excited to help me. you can tell they love what they do and love inspiring other people's interest in knitting. I was extremely pleased to learn that they offer private lesson at an affordable price. They also have group classes were you can learn to knit socks, cowls, and other fun projects that could seem daunting if you attempt to tackle it on your own.
