After an overnight Windows 10 update, my PC died so I brought it in and heard several others with the same problem. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly, I also asked about increasing ram and they also suggested a faster flash based hard drive based on my needs. Warning! Don't take your laptop to them for repair. Their reps will instantly try to sell you a new $2800 laptop. I took my laptop in for repair and they charged me over $800 to "fix" it. Installed a new 500 gig hard drive and charged me $350 for it. Same hard drive can be purchased on Amazon for $65. They were able to transfer files from my "broken" hard drive except for my pst (Outlook email) files. Stay away from these guys. read more

I took my laptop in because I needed to have them diagnose an existing problem. I had a good idea of what the problem was. The tech said that it was the hard drive after a few moments of tinkering around with it. I let them have my laptop on Friday around noon and was told that I would get a call everyday letting me know the progress of the repair. They also informed me it would be 3 days before they'd be able to fix it. By Wednesday I hadn't received a single phone call and decided I'd give them a call to see how things we're going. They hadn't even started on the repair, however shortly after 5 PM I got a call saying they had started the repair. Ultimately they did fix my laptop, installed a new hard drive and cloned the previous one. Update: I was recently contacted by a PC Laptops associated who both apologized and asked if there was anything they could do to make my experience better. He addressed all of my concerns, but to me the best part was how genuine it all was. He wasn't facetious nor did he drag his feet like he was being forced to do it. I was so happy that he contacted me and made me feel that everything was as great as it could be. I appreciate the human touch and look forward to future visits to PC Laptops. I took my Samsung notebook, overcome by a wicked virus, into the Sandy store. Matt Jackson bent over backwards to make sure I was happy ! He went out of his way and gave me great service, he cleaned my notebook even though many files were infected and it took much longer than it should have. I had a huge issue with them last year. They had my computer for over 3 months and i am a photographer so it was very inconvenient. I wrote about my experience here on yelp with them and the owner of PC laptops would call me often to see if there was anything he can do to make me feel better about PC Laptops. I was extremely wary of bringing my laptop back to them but after about a year of them calling and emailing me and chatting back and forth they finally told me they would give me a loaner computer while my laptop was in the shop so i could still do my business while they try and fix the photoshop issue I was having. I brought it in and they fixed it in 2 days!!! I am a very happy customer now! Thank you PC Laptops. Thank you Xander for figuring out the issue! You really turned my review around! The only positive thing I can say about PC Laptops is that their customer service is good. If you are looking to get a gaming PC, I would recommend building your own or at least looking somewhere else. I was charged almost $1000 more than what my PC was worth. I understand they need to make a profit, but $1000? That's absurd. After speaking with the assistant manager, it appears the bulk of their mark up has to do with the lifetime warranty. If this is the case, they should give the warranty as an option so people like myself who don't have a need for it aren't paying for something they aren't going to use. Was having problems with my computer after replacing some of the components. I called this fine establishment and talked to Tyler who was extremely helpful and recommended I bring in my PC. They offered to run a diagnostic free of charge, but the assistant manager Mike had a spare moment and opened up my PC and immediately found the problem. It was a simple fix, and they refused to charge me for their services. I'm always wary of repair places that might prey on a customer's technical ignorance, but PC Laptops seems to genuinely care about their customers. Generally I am not motivated to review any place that are non-food but PC LAPTOPS is over the top awesome!! They offer a free beverage as you walk in and the staffs right away make you feel at home. I sat down with one of the staffs a couple of months ago to customize a laptop for school. I didn't end up purchasing it due to some financial problems but I did get some parts to DIY my old laptop later that week. The staffs were very informative and knowledgeable and most importantly they listen well. I was very happy with what I got. I dropped by PCL again today to pick up some stuff and was once again reminded how outstanding a business they are running with the kind of treatment they gave me. Geek Squad no more! I have been to PC Laptops in Sandy twice now. The first time I literally walked over from my old place but recently, I went in again to pick up some stuff and say hello to the staff. Even though, I don't need any tech help, I know that this would be the place to go. These guys know what they are talking about. Most cases, I think they would be able to get it done in a day. Staff is super friendly and always welcomes you with open arms the minute you walk through the doors. Dan Fox was my representative and has been astounding in terms of customer service. I know when you pay for a good thing once, you usually have very beneficial residual effects. Pay for the repair once and don't keep paying for it. WORST SERVICE EVER! Computer was crashing blue screen error, took into PC Laptops for repairs. Right off the bat they want to sell me a new computer over market price cause they LOVE YOU I guess. They say it most likely the OS and will check it out and reload it for around $200. Needless to say week later I picked it up cost was $267. came home and next days later I start have blue screen errors again. I take it back they tell me well it must be a hardware issue we will charge you another $69 to check it out. WHAT THAT WHAT I PAID YOU TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE IS FINDING OUT WHAT IT IS AND FIX IT. I've never actually used their repair service, but I came here to pick up something and get signed up for their concierge service. Wowee! The second I stepped in, I was greeted by every person in the store. People literally stopped their conversation to say hello, like it was my surprise party or something! For the time being, suffice it to say, they're a company with a lot of different employees run by a guy named Dan who genuinely seems to care. I'm convinced that if you were ever to patronize this establishment and were dissatisfied for any reason, and try as you might you couldn't find redress for your grievances but somehow were able to get directly to Dan, all your troubles would disappear through his benevolence. Because that slogan, "At PC Laptops, we love you" is not just a bunch of bullshit. Dan really does love you in a completely platonic sense. i have a friend who recently asked me for help in dealing with pc laptops my friend is a 91yr old veteran who stopped by to ask some questions regarding his computer and left with a $2300 dollar debt and a computer that was not 1/3 as the one he took in with questions about as i am in the field (laptops) he asked me to take a look at the situation and his "new" laptop and i am horrified by the situation and the company they charged him 3x's what the machine sales for online and the laptop they "recycled" (of course the same day they took it from him)sales for 4x's the value of the "credit" they applied towards the new system i immediately told him take it back. he said they refused to take it back and had told him to leave i agreed to go down and speak with them on his behalf thinking there is know way they are going to take advantage like that they advertise how much "they love you" so i went down to the store and asked to speak with the manager explained the situation and asked them to return his laptop and his money only to be told they didn't have his laptop anymore then i very helpful tech came up to the manager and pointed to a laptop on the workbench telling the manager that was it and the manager stated no it looks like it but no his had been recycled(hmmmmmm). then the manager wanted to knoew if i was power of attorney so i went out and got my friend he came in and was told the manager would see what he could do . my friend called me later that day to tell me they had called and said come back tomorrow to get his computer so today we go back only to be told they were charging a $700 restock fee and they attempted to give him a used damaged laptop in place of his original high end gaming machine (which they of course never recycled but resold). the behavior and conduct that the employees @ this location is so shameful and immoral words do not begin to describe it they absolutely ripped off a 91 year old veteran and then refused to return his money or computer. now we know how they finance all there advertising by stealing from senior citizens who are also war veterans shame on you this is by far the most unamerican thing i have ever witnessed read more

We took our desktop into the Sandy PC laptops store over the summer because it was having a start up problem. They fixed that issue but ever since we brought it home, the computer has been very slow. Not sure what they did to it but it seems all we did was trade one problem for another. read more

They advertise that they buy used laptops. This is totally false and false advertising!! I went into the sandy store to sell my laptop and was told they don't "buy" them, but would give me an in store credit. When I picked it up, Kelly explained what happened and showed me how to keep it working in a healthy condition. He also went above and beyond and cleaned up my memory, while showing me how to access my files. We had a bit of back and forth and came to an acceptable agreement for a resolution of the situation. I appreciate the fact that they reached out to me and worked with me to find a solution. In the End they did what they could to make things right. *** END UPDATE *** I've heard nothing but good things about the service of PC laptops until my parents went here. My parents bought a laptop here that was way overpriced. My parents were set on buying a mac laptop based on my recommendations and are not very computer literate. They had stopped in on a whim to check out what was available. The salesman proceeded to tell them they couldn't use Office on Mac and that it would be very hard for them to use because windows is not a mac. First point is a straight up lie, second point, thank you for pointing out that windows isn't on mac. Long story short they got sold an off-brand laptop for the price of a retina macbook pro. I found out about this transaction after it was too late to return it for a reasonable amount of money (You lose $75 a day). Phone calls with the store proved worthless. "They would never talk bad about apple." or "We would never talk someone out of buying a different computer." Of course you would talk someone out buying a different computer, it is your job to sell your computers. Bottom Line: PC Laptops takes advantage of people that aren't tech savvy and then plays dumb when you call them on it. For the price go elsewhere, only advantage they have is their warranties. read more

Four years ago we bought a laptop from the Sandy Store, and have been very pleased with their products, but even more impressed with their customer service. When you buy from them, you are not just buying a computer, you are buying a life-time of incredible customer service!! Since purchasing our laptop, we purchased an additional desk-top computer for the family as well. Recently my laptop was giving me problems because my storage capacity was reaching it's limit. I know absolutely nothing about computers, but because my husband couldn't take it in, It was up to me to get the task done. When I brought the laptop in I worked with Aaron Christiansen. I'm sure I just slaughtered my explanation of what was going on with the laptop but he was very patient and kind. After I left, I ended up calling back a few times to add more details, change my mind, and rely info from my husband. Never once did I feel inferior for my lack of computer lingo or understanding. In fact Aaron continued to assure me he was there to help, and to call back as much as needed to make sure I got the service I wanted! I have a PC and have tried using PC laptops lifetime service for repairs. I originally bought this computer in 2011. I have had in in for repair since then on on 5 different occasions. Recently they have replaced my hard drive twice within the last 6 months and charged me for an upgrade. My computer now will not boot up. Service leaves something to be desired. read more

UPDATE: Bryan from PC Laptops reached out to me to resolve this issue. I can honestly now say that I am satisfied with my service. Bryan went above and beyond to take care of me and my frustrations. I really appreciate his efforts. I brought my desktop pc in for a diagnostic and repair. They told me they would get right on it, but did not start it until the next business day. It took them a week to come up with a recommendation that I decided to go with for $640. Once I got the pc home the same exact symptoms occurred. I took it back and two diferent employees told me that it would not cost me a penny to fix it since I brought it back to them within two weeks of the repair. Fast forward another 5 business days and they wanted to charge me another $400 to replace two more parts, after they told me it would not cost me any money. I asked why they didn't catch this when I first brought it in and they said that the parts hadn't gone bad yet. Think for a minute that you take your car into the mechanic because of specific sound, they tell you that they fixed it, but when you bring it home you hear the same sound. How would you react when they tell you that two completely unrelated parts are causing the same sound, and that they were not bad in the first place? This is exactly what pc laptops did to me. I was not happy and took my pc to a different place for a second opinion. Within a day he told me the exact problem and what it would cost to fix it. It ended up being a $90 fix and my computer is running great now. Both parts that pc laptops told me were bad are just fine. The other guy even took them out of my pc and tested them in others, and they are great. I am using the same parts right now without any problems. Each time I brought my pc in they tried to get me to buy an over priced pc. I shut that down quickly because I could build a better one for half the price they wanted to charge me. read more
