PC Laptops does not stand behind their products. I made the mistake and purchased a laptop a few years ago. Every time I needed help they said no or it would cost me a hundred dollars. Two letters on the keyboard popped off and they said it would cost $100 to replace the entire keyboard. Their product was faulty and I had to pay to repair. I lost the power cord and they can't help me with a replacement. Nothing. No suggestions. Just figure out on my own. Learn from my mistake and purchase from someone else. My GPU fans stopped working, so I thought Ide see if PCLAPTOPS could diagnose and repair. Unfortunately, it was more than just a fan issue, and it seems my GPU is toast - which isn't a surprise from a 5 year old pc part. HOWEVER, I have to say that the customer service from Elliot (hope that was his name) was awesome. I brought in my card and gave it to him which he then performed about 20 min of diagnostics. He brought back the card and gave me some ideas on what I might try in order to make it somewhat functional. Really good customer service from this place. I wish you could give zero stars. Brought in for a repair, gave my timeline. For background, went in before the repair and ordered all the parts myself so there was no delay. Brought in my computer, said it would be done same day. This was on a Thursday, came back Monday, they hadn't even started the repair. No phone call, no explanation, just didn't do it. I don't think I would ever go to this business again. We have bought a few computers from this location. My in-laws as well. For the price we paid they lasted awhile. Our PC recently wouldnt boot up and it gave us an error message. We took it in and went without a computer for 4-5 days. They said our drive went out and maybe it's time to buy a computer. I could replace the drive for 250 dollars, but the computer is old and should buy a new one. Pricing was outrageous. They wouldn't give me a quote to take home. I decIde for once to second guess them and take the old computer down the street. The guy there was a whole lot transparent. He ran his diagnostic and said nothing is wrong. Just needs to reinstall software. I paid the 80 dollar flat fee and sure enough the computer is fine. PC laptops lied. Computer is fine. I'm glad I spent 80 dollars to second guess their worthless warranty. They said a drive would cost 250, the other store quoted 60 dollars for very comparable drive. A drive I didn't need. I've been a customer for PC Laptops before and my trusty desktop is still running great after quite a few years. I've taken it back a few times for maintenance and I've always had a great experience at PC Laptops. I needed a laptop this time, but not just any laptop. I'm one of those picky clients who wants specific things and often has unreasonable expectations. (LOL) Fortunately, I got to work with Jay who spent a good chunk of time working with me in order to get me the machine that I wanted. They even ended up getting an epic M2 SSD to put in the machine for me and I couldn't be happier with the face-melting speed. Long time customer with a long backstory but to cut to the chase Joshua at the Sandy Location has done a phenomenal job completely satisfying all of my issues that I had dealt with for almost 2 years and this is no exaggeration! I also demand this man gets a raise and recognition!! I've gone to every store in the valley looking for the right help and just never truly got what I was promised everytime and it has most definitely broke my heart the passed year or more after and not having a piece of my passion like my PC in good condition that makes me confident to use. When I lost my Grandma last year to Covid-19 it's been super tough since Nov 2021! I've dealt with issues from the beginning all the way from the original build looking good on display to being something I don't want to look at or turn on at all because I had LED fans swapped out, the motherboard swapped out, it had a coil whine that was absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've had to deal with, being a former Geek Squad employee or just a general person in fact, I would never tell someone who spent $4500 or more on their merchandise that includes a Soundbar and a Sub to result to wearing earplugs when I'm using my computer! I was told to do this and I was not believed that my coil whine was real! Joshua again deserves as much credit as possible here because not one, not two, not three stores, managers, or even visits, and the amount of trouble and frustration with each and everyone it caused me can amount to the credit I could explain! To have Joshua confidently tell me he will take care of me and let me know what he truly believed could be the issue with the coil whine in particular and I'm not sure exactly what he found it to be but he first said it sounded like the liquid cooler that was installed! Can you guess what someone else told me? The power cable! I wonder which is more believable! Working for Geek Squad was a dream job of mine and I knew something was up when this happened! I'm a core believer in honesty and hard work! Joshua not only made my rig look exactly if not better than how I imagined it but he also took the time to write down our conversation when I gave him the opportunity to and he meaningfully took into account certain things I'll never forget! Joshua was so confident, willing, and reassuring which made me feel like I could trust him but I'm serious when I say he was so phenomenally professional with a very outward outspoken person like I am and blunt because it's true, I'm difficult to deal with, I'm picky and I really wanted my full build. My sub glowing in rainbows with the entire inside of my awesome PC. I don't take no for an answer after what has happened over the years! I worked hard for this computer and still! I want the corporate to understand there's something definitely unique about Joshua! I want our two phone call conversations we had from the beginning and the end listened to and meaningfully acknowledged because Joshua was able to really get on my level and do it over the phone truly diagnosing my situation and utilizing his people skills along with this technical understanding of hardware! It's true that it was quick and very price competitive especially since they use OEM glass. They replaced my glass while I waited taking about 15 minutes. That's LITERALLY the line that kept cycling my mind when my absurdly awesome, hella helpful, super smart, tremendously thoughtful Concierge Rep Dan told me his last name was FOX. It took every cell in me to not bring up that song. Fortunately, I succeeded...until this Yelp review (Sorry, Fox...I mean Dan). Okay, okay back on topic... I've been a client of PC Laptops for over a year now, and they've been incredibly delightful in every encounter I've had. I was having some issues with my computer ever since my school IT team "upgraded" our anti-virus software to Avast. Everything just seemed much slower, and things just seemed off. Last week, I took my computer to get it checked out with my IT team, and they claimed everything was fine. They said there was nothing. Being the skeptic I am, I decided to take it into PC Laptops for a diagnostic check-up yesterday. Upon walking in, I was greeted by everyone (literally) with a nice big cheer. In front of me was a bowl of candy and to the side of the wall was a fridge full of diet Coke, Coke, and water bottles. My concierge rep named Dan helped make me feel at home and paid careful attention to the details I was telling him and even helped me understand more of the issues that might be going on. He gave me estimates as to how long things would take and anti-virus recommendations, specific for me. He really cared, didn't treat me like I was just a girl coming in lost, and I really appreciated everything about him. I ended up getting a diagnostic check up, and it turned out my computer WAS severely infected (took HOURS to clean everything out). There were THOUSANDS of cookies and malware on my computer that Avast and my IT team did not detect (Keep in mind I pay a hefty annual fee to have these full-time paid IT staff take care of my computer & this is their sole job--pretty disappointing). Upon turning on the computer, it was obvious how much faster everything ran. My technician booted my computer in front of me and demonstrated the programs installed. He helped give me tips on how to manually scan the computer as well as set up an automated weekly scan at a time convenient for me. I was originally worried about ESET NOD32's ability to block phishing & malware, but he kindly explained that they do a dual software protection with ESET NOD32 Anti-virus 8 and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, allowing Malwarebytes to cover what ESET lacked without conflicting with one another. I really appreciated him answering my concerns honestly and really breaking everything down for me. On top of that, the technician gave me a license card with information on my Username/ID and Password/Key in case I ever needed to re-install it on my computer or switch the software onto another computer. He also gave me an 8 GB flash drive (Score!) with the anti-virus/anti-malware protection and a pair of Comic Con multipass for the weekend because they are sponsoring the event. PC Laptops has definitely earned not only my trust, but my highest recommendation. I'll definitely be taking my Alienware laptop to PC Laptops in the near future for some clean up and upgrades (that says a lot because I am really picky about who gets to touch that one). Tip 1: Check-in to get a free virus scan on ANY PC! It's free, so it's worth a try Tip 2: Don't forget to get your sugar high here! They have a fridge full of drinks & a bowl full of candy! Tip 3: Parking can suck at times...if it does, go down the street to check out Ocean Mart for some grocery shopping or cheap food court stuff then come back! read more

This place is quite awesome, every time I go in I am confronted with energetic and an enthusiastic crowd of people. My buddy was getting the run around on his Dell computer and he had to mail it in to get fixed, 4 weeks later they finally returned it and problem still persisted, after we was fed up, I recommended he go visit PC Laptops here in Sandy and speak to Ryan Gilpatrick directly. Ryan was able to get him into a computer with more processing power, more RAM, better GPU, better screen resolution for cheaper than what he paid for his Dell. Kudos to Ryan for that! I came in last week to pick up some items and to say "Hi' to Ryan and rest of the awesome people there. I always leave with a smile on my face knowing I am in good hands whenever dealing with them. PC laptops contacted me and offered to upgrade any part of the desktop I bought from Amazon for their error of not explaining I would get a CC from wellsfargo from signing the credit check application. They gave me a free 24" monitor. I didn't really want anything but the asked me multiple times to make it right for me. Changed my stars from 1 to 4* I feel super awkward accepting this monitor but they were so kind and insistent. So I take back what I said. As long as you know what you're getting yourself into by signing the credit application check is actually for a credit card, this company will take care of you. Update: I received a Yelp message from PC Laptops just hours after posting my review. They said they truly wanted to get my computer running to spec. So I took two days off and ran the machine to their Sandy location. They said they were going to have their lead system builder look into making it run as well as it should. So...how did they do? Well, when they say they want to make things right, they mean it! They changed out the case, power supply, and RAM (there was at least one bad stick), then crafted a custom loop liquid cooler using two rads (radiators) and six super-quiet fans. They also had the machine done in time for me to edit four different video projects over the weekend. After applying a few tweaks to satisfy the needs of my video editing software, the machine ran like a champ, plus the CPU temperatures that were regularly in the high 90 degrees C were in the low 70s and 80s. And it's really quiet when doing so, even when the fans are at full tilt. Even though it's been a year, PC Laptops finally delivered the machine I wanted. While I'm still a little irked knowing that I could and should have had a more productive and stable machine on day one, they fully came through in the end. I bear some responsibility for not taking the machine in sooner, but after being in retail for almost 20-years, I don't like being 'that guy.' Regardless, now I finally have a machine that can keep up with me and eats the 18-core $11,000.00 iMac Pro for lunch! They went to considerable expense to make me happy, and now I am. Thanks, PC Laptops. I love you, too. Note: If you're a creative professional, please be aware that the ESET anti-virus software PC Laptops recommends and installs on their systems will weigh very heavily on software like the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. (i.e., Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc.) You'll want to find ways to keep it from scanning your photo and video media, which I tried to do and was unsuccessful. I resorted to removing ESET and went with a different anti-virus program, and now all the Adobe products run 5 to 10 times faster than before. read more

Simply stated, this store's customer service is so bad I feel helpless to use the warranty on my computer. I've either gone in or called them 10 times for a few issues, this has stretched over the course of almost a year. Each time a "manager" assures me that he will take care of it and it will be done tomorrow, then I never hear back, and anyone else I talk to acts like they don't know the order I'm referring to. Its a bad joke. The CMOS battery died (obviously they gave me a used one for a 3K laptop) and it seems to be the super rare battery they can not seem to get to me for a year now. Still have not got it, although I've been assured it will be done many times. I had to chase them down and "pull teeth" to give them $700 for an upgrade, all the while having some person act like they know more about laptops than GOD while they obviously cannot even track a basic order ticket. I thought having the ability to talk to a customer server rep rather than deal with them over the internet would be a good idea. I should have and will in the future go with anyone else. PC laptops over the course of 10 bad encounters (I'm guessing more to come because I still need the battery) has lost my trust to do even the most basic of tasks. Noted I paid for their maximum warranty. In hindsight I wish I had not, as even if I wanted to use it, they won't allow it with their incompetence feedback loop. read more

I used to think that they were just way over priced computers and their moto "We love you" was just a saying. I have come to learn that it is NOT just a saying and they really do live by it. Over the past two weeks the customer service that I have gotten was just awesome, and not just the management but any employee that I have spoken to. They have shown me that I am not just another customer, review or money coming through the door but have treated me like a friend. They are very knowledgable and eager to get you taken care of. I can say with confidence that when they say they are going to do something, that they will follow through. The prices are still a bit steep for my budget, but I always say you get what you pay for. This past week or so, my grandma went in to have anti-virus that she paid for installed on her PC. I was very disappointing when I received a text from my grandmother saying that PC Laptops was trying to talk her into buying a $2,300 PC because her current PC wouldn't receive security updates next month due to Windows 7 reaching end of life. They stated that her drivers were outdated, and that her 8 year old dual core PC would be a problem, and that her online banking wouldn't be secure. The thing is, I work in IT professionally, and have given her PC a look-through. I already upgraded her PC to Windows 10 in years past, and it and will continue to receive security updates for a very long time. So she was blatantly lied to her face about the Windows 7 problem. She uses the most up-to-date Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. The PC she uses already boots off of a solid state drive, and is without question fast enough for her use case, which is browsing the web, online banking, and basic Microsoft Office use. I'm very happy I was able to help save her potentially thousands by having her reaching out to me and double check before purchasing. I'm very disappointed that a member of your staff attempted to swindle my grandma out of her hard earned money, and I really wish she got the name of the employee trying to do this so I could mention them. At a minimum, a replacement PC for her use case could be built for $500 or less, which I directed her to have me build in the future if she ever gets to the point where she feels her PC is too slow, which would also save money on any ridiculous markup or labor costs. Dan stayed very close to the situation until I took the machine and loaded it up and saw that everything was working great. Usually I build and repair my own PCs, but I was feeling lazy and went here instead. Great group of guys, they were all friendly and knowledgeable (a pleasant change from big box stores). Best part: not one of the guys talked down to me. So rare in the tech world. The computer they built is great, runs like a dream. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly, I also asked about increasing ram and they also suggested a faster flash based hard drive based on my needs. I tried everything and right when I was about to become reserved to the fact that the motherboard must be defective I call PC Laptops and made an appointment with them. I brought the machine in and within 5 mins Brian found the issue (a misplaced wire) and fixed it. I offered to pay for their help but they said they do free assessments within the first 10 minutes. I have a 7yo Dell Inspiron Laptop that has been "going out" for about 2 years. i got the fated blue screen and finally decided to switch out the HDD for SSD. after having a bad experience at a different location i was referred to this store for Jon to take a look at it. Apparently he trains other employees as well. first of all, customer service was in constant contact to be sure i was able to get my computer serviced in a timely manner. Pretty much he tore it apart to take a look and it needed to be "lubed". the heat sink gunk had dried up and it was overheating. and my HDD was also failing. he did the whole shebang, got my temp down from 80 to 50 and switched out my drives with a full win10 install. I am very grateful for the professionalism that i found at this location. and if i have any other issues i would definitely return and refer my friends as well. when they say they want you to be 110% satisfied if you aren't it's no fault of theirs. read more
