PB Catch has become one of my favorite seafood spots for date night. The food is always fresh and the service is always welcoming and pleasant. The pear martini is my go to cocktail. I've come into the restaurant 30 minutes before they closed and they still serve you as if they just opened. I order the watermelon salad every time I come it's a staple to start. I was so excited to return to PB Catch since our last visit at the end of last summer. The summer specials are irresistible , and the food and service are exceptional. We arrived at about 4:45 to enjoy happy hour. We sat at the bar and had an oyster sampler of Blue Points, Orient Points and Royal Canadian. We loved them all. They are Half priced during Happy hour plus drinks were 2 for 1. I had a Sidecar and ordered a Bordeaux to have with dinner. Both were delicious! We also had a couple of appetizers: SMOKED HOUSE FISH DIP pickled fresno peppers, capers, red onions $7 SPICY TUNA NACHO BITES ahi tuna, sambal sweet soy, avocado, mango, toasted sesame, cilantro on crispy fried wonton. $8 Afterwards we sat down for dinner. This was a fabulous deal as well. If you order before 6:30, buy one on entree and get the second one for free which ever is the lowest priced. We both ordered the GRILLED SEAFOOD TRIO. atlantic salmon, jumbo sea scallops, jumbo shrimp, basil scented jasmine rice, grilled broccolini, blistered baby heirloom tomatoes, lemon butter sauce $59. Great spot on the island with a killer oyster selection from all over the place. They happened to be running a BOGO entrée special, so my wife and I both went straight for the double lobster plate--pretty sure they didn't see that coming. Each plate came with a massive pool of melty butter, which was basically a dream. We paired the lobster with some Brussels sprouts that were perfectly done and wrapped it all up with a pineapple upside down cake that sealed the deal. Great experience from start to finish. Definitely recommend... even if you have to actually pay for your food. read more

Our must go for any special occassion and even if it's not a special occassion. The food is outstanding, with about 12 differant oyster selections fresh from the NE plus a plethora of ther selections from sea and land. The oysters are fresh shucked righ in front of you at the raw bar. Not like all those places serving frozen gulf oyster these days, which can be quite risky. We especially love their fresh shucked Belon oysters which is impossible to find here in S Fl. And at half price during happy Hour. Dosen't get any better than this. We had 3 dozen !!! Service was crips, the maitre de was charming, friendly, accomodating and clearly loved his job and is obviously well loved by all his patrons. Valet is complimentary, street parking is easy, and our server Omar was lovely. The manager was walking around checking in, which is always a plus. Service was A+. Now onto the food, aka the part where things took a turn. Tuna stack with avocado? Good. Not great. Gazpacho? Honestly one of the better things on the menu. But then came the "sampler" of sadness; the smoked salmon, the spicy mayo fish thing, and chilled octopus. I don't know what's going on with that trio, but it served disappointment with a side of regret. The mussels? Meh. The lobster tails , Branzino , and tuna entrées were all just... fine. It's fine. Everything is fine. Well, not bad, not memorable, just there. And then fish and chips... which my daughter (who loves fish and chips) declared inedible. She ditched the fish and went full commitment on the fries. To be fair, the fries were solid. But dessert tried to save the night. The chocolate cake ? Actually great. The apple cherry crisp? Yum. If you're going here, maybe just do dessert and a drink and call it a day. Would I come back? No. Do I regret going? Also no. But would I have rather eaten somewhere else? 100%. Tried this local seafood restaurant after Karen & Lesley told us about the Thursday night deals on Oysters and BOGO entrees ordered before 6:30. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor alcove, watching the "hoi poloi" valet their Bentley's, Mercedes and BMWs . Love people watching! Great selection of oysters to choose from at half-price on Thursday. My wife ordered the beet salad. For dinner I had the grilled branzino with lemon capers sauce. They presented the grilled whole branzino and then filited. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass with soy based sauce on the side. I had to order the yummy grilled (large asparagus) Excellent side. I can review happy hour only, as that's all I know (and all I can afford). The restaurant is very pricey, but happy hour has two-for-one drinks and half off oysters, as well as good prices on a handful of appetizers. I arrived right at the start -- 4:30. Donald (I believe he's the manager) couldn't have been more welcoming. He led me inside and to the bar, even introducing me to the bartender. I was made to feel perfectly comfortable, even though I was alone. Great ambiance inside. It's lovely. I started off with the watermelon margarita, a light and very good drink. I love that you can order any number of oysters you want AND choose all different ones. I had three, all from different locations. They were served beautifully and were great. My Bloody Mary oyster shooter was fun. The group a few barstools away raved about their fish dip. I chose the shrimp Rangoon, and that was the afternoon's only disappointment. The filling -- or should I say the lack of filling -- was a bummer. I will say that my amiable and professional bartender, Zippy, took them off my bill. I should have tried the mussels on toast instead. There is a Yelp review complaining about the 20% gratuity that is added to your bill, and yes, they calculate it from the regular prices of the items and not from the happy hour prices. As that reviewer said, it was a little bit of an unpleasant surprise, but I had such a nice time that it was ok. Now I'll know! We went to PB Catch today. They advertised a happy hour promotion: buy one entrée, get the second free. However, what they don't make clear upfront and only disclose at the bottom of the menu or when the check arrives is that they automatically add a 20% service charge to the total bill before applying any promotions. On our $89 bill, they added a $34 service charge, which comes out to nearly 40%. With the new federal law eliminating tax on tips, it feels like this restaurant has chosen to profit from mandatory service fees rather than fairly priced food. By charging a high service fee, they also avoid the 12% federal tax that would apply to tips. As for the food, it was average at best. Once all the hidden charges are factored in, the experience feels overpriced and disappointing. read more

If you've never had Razor clams you're in for quite a nice bit of dining pleasure. The happy hour and Thursday night half-price oyster have always been great. But until last night, I had never seen Razor clams on any Florida menu. A big thing in Rhode Island. These clams resemble an old-fashioned straight razor. They have the consistency of calamari and are super sweet. The chef prepares with a Louisiana inspired sauce that was super good. In the past I have sometime felt the menu was uneven and I do hope they work a bit on the seafood stew (maybe a Portuguese version instead of the French??) However last night was as close to perfect as a raw bar/seafood restaurant gets. Very crowded on Oyster night so get there early. read more

The interior was slightly dark but there was a candle on the table and a strategically placed ceiling light which helped. The restaurant was very quiet until about 6:30pm and it felt like we nearly had the whole place to ourselves. Everyone was very friendly and attentive - things are certainly slower in the off-season. Between us, we shared a half dozen Blue Points which were very tasty and fresh. They make a lemon (?) mignonette, in addition to the standard red wine vinegar mignonette, which I really enjoyed. Both of the salads were excellent. I especially liked my burrata salad. The entrees were excellent as well. I had the Chilean sea-bass and my wife had the Black Grouper, a special for the evening. I can't even begin to tell you how much dryer and unpleasant my last personal attempt at cooking sea-bass was compared to the one here - so perfectly done and flaky, literally melt in your mouth good. This restaurant had a pop up set up at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. We were so thankful to find this instead of your typical food truck type of food at an outdoor event. My friend and I split a shrimp wrap, cocktail shrimp and fish dip. The sea food tasted so fresh. Everything was so delicious. The people working the tent were also incredible. We came for the Wed crab boil special, reservations for 4 at 7:15 pm. We arrived and met our party who was already with drinks at the bar. While the restaurant was relatively empty, they sat us at the table right by the walkway where one seat was against the wall making it more confined ... when there were many tables better situated and more open. We sat and got menus and water right away. It took a good while before our waiter appeared to take our drink order. Even though the restaurant was not busy, he did not appear for awhile to finally take our dinner order. We all ordered the ultra which included Queen Crab legs, Dungeness Crab and Alaska Red King. The crab was meh...King was beyond salty to fully enjoy, Dungeness didn't taste fresh, and Queens were good. They didn't bring any drawn butter until we aasked, and then only brought out 2. I ansked for 2 more she said it would take a while but they never returned with any. Partially through dinner, I had noticed I didn't have any Queen Crab legs, and then took notice that my friend didn't have Dungeness crab. They are lucky we were able to switch it out but someone wasn't paying attention when plating. Service definitely was not good! It was a constant wait, no one came back to ask how everything was. We ordered dessert and they forgot the whipped cream on my cappuccino. It's a 3/10 experience for a 9/10 price. The service was subpar. The waiters were extremely inattentive until they were trying to get us to wrap up to clear our table. We had heard one of the greatest items on their menu was the stone crab. Our waiter informed us that they were all out early in the evening. Despite this, we continued to see platters of it headed to tables all night, including on the way out. When asked, our waiter said this was because they were saving it for customers who preordered. No such option was presented to us when making the reservation. While the shrimp cocktail and oysters were good, the entrees we ordered were not great. The waiter was impolite when I asked for my bill he continued to empty the glass dishwasher as if he hadn't acknowledged me when he totally did. There was a picture on their website that didn't exist on the menu that they claimed they no longer had. I was very disappointed because I actually went there to have what was in the picture. The bartender was friendly. We had two dozens of oysters, shrimp Rangoon, mussels with toast, and hash puppies. Pear martini and old fashion for drinks. The first round of sampler oysters had three different kind, but for the 2nd dozen, we decided to just have the Blue Point, they were very good. The mussels on a toast was different. We had 2 orders of the Seacuterie scallops and one of the octopus and both were not very good at all. They were tolerable with the sauces that came on the side. We also did the seafood platter, it was okay, not excellent, not bad. For our entrees we had the tuna which was quite tasty but the hanger steak was very rare (we asked for medium rare). We were all looking forward to try out this place. A party of 8 with reservations so we were seated quickly. Nice atmosphere and the service was good, but the pricing for what you get is kind of ridiculous. Fish and Chips for $44, salmon $46, bouillabaisse $51.....really. Problem is the food (and unfortunately we were there for the fish) was mediocre at best and the portions on the small side. They have an amazing happy hour 2 for 1 on the martinis . Then I had that smoked fish dip. Phenomenal. For my entrée, I had the seafood trio. Which was salmon, scallops, shrimp , jasmine, rice, and broccoli. My wife had the crabcakes with lobster. Probably one of the best seafood dishes I've had. And I've had seafood all around the world. It's a seafood restaurant, sort of. The menu of fish dishes, without committing to a fish for a table? About four. All delicious, mind you. They have chicken beef, lamb and vegan dishes that are outstanding, as well as a massive raw bar. The menu of Seacuterie, cured fish small plates, allows for some interesting adventures. If you're rich enough to have a DUNS number then their raw platters won't cause your piggy bank to squeal too much. The Chilean Seabass was outstanding. Pricey, at $55, but well presented and perfectly cooked. The hangar steak had a Moroccan-style chimichurri tgat was truly signature on a steak frites plate that was a ten. The oysters were amazing. Star of the meal. The light colored mignonette was exceptional. The other two, an overly sharp red wine, and, ugh, the ski mask of oyster toppings, cocktail sauce, were both sub par. The bar is well stocked. The bartender was disappointing. Some have mad skills. His are sad skills. I asked if he could make me a Sazarac with an orange peel instead of lemon. A bar of this caliber should pull it off. The watery thing that arrived was a drowning victim of shaky competence, no twist. When I asked the waiter for an orange peel I got two hastily plated orange slices. I felt like tipping the bartender with a game of Clue, so he might finally have one. Our waiter was super attentive, and pleasant. Perhaps it's a bit of deafness from working in a dining room that rivals a Pratt & Whitney wind tunnel, but he had to keep coming back to repeat parts of our order. The raw bar lost our ticket. When he arrived with double our order, I realized that it's a tough room to work. Kudos to the manager for not asking how our meal was with our faces full of food. You know that you aren't going to hear too many complaints with food like this. Elegant digs with killer ambiance bode well for a great meal. Walk into the main dining room with a classic bar, and the dining room filled with gabby snow vultures, during season, does work against the vibe a bit. Not as bad as at other island eateries, where you could fire a howitzer and not hear it over Joan's lengthy lament that her experience got the house in Martha's Vineyard and how she's been forced to slum her summers in Fire Island. Still, this place is ridiculously pricey, even for tony, crony Palm Beach. I get better oysters at Fern Street Wine Bar for half the price. Likewise I can get a phenomenal Sea Bass for a quarter to half the price at many places across the bridge.
