Now that I'm older, I've come to realize that Italianni's is not so much of a corporate franchise as I believed it to be. The menu is expansive; they certainly have lots to offer by way of variety, and their food quality is on par. Every dish is carefully prepared, and you can taste the food quality in every bite. We ordered the mixed pizza (4 different types of pizzas in one), osso bucco pasta, truffle fries, calamari, chicken parm, mediterrean pasta, and much more for our Christmas Day dinner. Everything was exceptional! I've never had osso bucco before, and Italianni's version hit it out of the park. Our kids, just like many other kids, absolutely love pizza. Their quatro formaggio was insanely delicious thanks to their addition of gouda. My husband and I ordered the Italian Smash (gin, simple syrup, basil, lemon juice), and were so impressed by how tasty it was. Italianni's has proven their shift from a franchise Italian restaurant to finer casual dining. Their Shangrila Plaza location is situated perfectly in a row of restaurants and has both indoor and "outdoor" dining areas. Service is wonderful, as well. I highly recommend Italianni's for any family dinners or even dinners with friends or clients.

The overall compact structure is topped with Béchamel that has a smooth "pudding like" feel and then sprinkled with parmesan cheese. A pool of their fresh and strong tomato sauce contrast the subtle taste of the pasta. SERVICE 4.0 10% Service Charge. They convinced me patiently to try their food. Nothing outstanding at least they entertain. AMBIANCE 3.5 The place has few tables and sofa benches that are rather low when seated, but I needed the comfortable backrest. Ambiance isn't defined, but with the already classy Shangri-La Plaza it's not necessary, it would be nice though. Free WiFi works!

Instead, Lombardi's one and only claim is that they serve authentic Italian food, no more, no less. This is an assertion that they are more than happy to back up. The restaurant's namesake is the chef and founder, Davide Lombardi, who you can safely assume is a full blooded Italian. Chef Lombardi gamely serves and shares the food he grew up with while simultaneously debunking any notion that authentic Italian food should be expensive. They aren't making up menu items just for the heck of it. Each dish, from the appetizer all the way to the dessert, is an authentic reflection and representation of the real deal. If you like pasta NOT swimming in ketchup, I love you and you should try Lombardi's.

And then at lunch, the office clutz spills his smoothie all over your favorite pencil skirt. And then you find out your office crush asked your friend out on a date. Later that day, while riding the MRT, your shoe heel breaks. What do you do? Go! The correct answer is: Head to Kapitolyo and let Pomodoro's Margarita Pizza do a CPR on your day. Being a meatlover, I can say that I was amazed at how tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and their secret cheese came together and formed a phenomenal pizza (one you'll fall in love with instantly!). Unlike your run-of-the-mill pizza, it doesn't overcompensate by having a buttload of meat, and quite frankly, it doesn't need to. It's perfect just the way it is. The best part? It has considerably less calories! Yes, that's right, so you can remain faithful (sort of!!) to your 1200 calories per day diet. Because some days just demand an emergency pizza. Thin crust. Extra cheese, if you please.

Despite the name of the place, they are not exclusively serving French food. They have pasta, steaks, and seafood. If anything, Chateau 1771 is a modern European restaurant serving favorite French, Italian, and Swiss food. When I first visited the place years ago, I was actually anxious about that moment when the waiter would hand me the check. European dining in the Philippines has always been equated with expensive fine-dining. But to my astonishment, the price was actually reasonable. I mean, it's not affordable and one would be crazy or filthy rich to eat in this kind of place every day. But for special occasions, I would recommend this place. My most recent visit was during my wife's birthday. It was a table for two and we had a late lunch. After a few moments of browsing through the menu, she asked for Croquette Salad, while I went for Butter-baked Oysters. For main, she had Vanilla Brick Spring Chicken, or grilled chicken served with vanilla bean dots. I ordered the Potence, the house specialty. It's basically steak where the meat is served hanging from a potence, or metal frame, and then set alight (by the waiter) with brandy. Their Pomelo Fruit Juice is a must try. I would recommend having a reservation when dining at Chateau 1771. While the place typically fills up during dinner, I find it perfect for a late afternoon hangout. The ambience can truly transport you somewhere in Europe.

You know how other shops have fresh fruit shakes but when you drink it it just tastes like sugar? Well, Chateau 1771's shakes are fresh, cold and it's the actual fruit. Oh, their flambeed coffees are amazing. Try their Irish coffee. You'll want more. For dessert, it doesn't matter whether you order a Creme Brulee or a Coffee Bean Sansrival. All of their desserts are excellent.
