An ol' reliable bistro that serves delicious Italian comfort food, Cibo never fails to hit all the right spots. The place has been quite an unshakeable force in the ever-changing and somewhat fickle local restaurant scene. It's been around for years but it's still going strong and still packing quite a crowd.
There are two Cibo outlets in Powerplant Mall but I favor Cibo Bimbi, aptly found in the mall's Kids Zone because of its bright and airy open-space plan. The Cibo on the Ground Floor is quite frankly, too gloomy and timeworn already.
When you find yourself in Cibo, make sure to order the Spinaci Zola dip which is a mix of spinach and gorgonzola cheese. Served with crunchy crostinis, it's simply the best. I also love their paninis. They've got meat, seafood and vegetable options. If it's pasta you're craving for, try the Penne al Telefono, which has tomato stew, mozzarella, white cheese, basil and cream. If you're feeling a bit carnivorous, try the Tagliata di Maiale Aglio Rosmarino, which is a hot plate of roasted, sliced pork tenderloin, with garlic and rosemary, served with a side of focaccia bread.
