Many of the others we spoke to seemed more interested in steering us away from a heat pump water heater. They also installed a hot water recirculating pump for us. The technicians Sergio and Luis did a great job with both installations and were able to deal with some unexpected complications and Marie in the office was very responsive to our questions. The price for the water heater was over $700 less than an estimate for a comparable Bradford White water heater from another plumber, while the price for the recirculating pump was over $700 less. In fact, the price for the pump and its installation was $350 less than the price for the pump alone on the manufacturer website. I highly recommend them!

Deflection, lack of accountability for anything, bad look for holding the manager position. Contacted by Supervisor Jesenia who reached out twice, yesterday and again today, we were able to speak about everything in length and detail. Jesenia who had been with the company for some years (+10) was able to represent the brand excellently. She completely understood the situation, gave logical reasoning on the misrepresentation of the brand, and accountability and ownership was taken. End result, she made it right, refunding the entire amount of $699 and 1 year membership paid ($240 value). This will give Service Champions another opportunity for redemption and show they still have good technicians and they are a company that stands on their brand moto. Changed star rating from 1 to 4 because a single person, Yesenia, can make a difference in brand representation, appreciate her time and effort in looking into this issue, making it right and exemplifying that every customer is important, Thank you Jesenia. Initially 1 star rating due issue below - VISIT DATE: 9/22/26 Problem: Water was leaking from my air handling box primary line in my attic which caused some ceiling damage. Action: Being a member of Service Champions I called them out to clear the clogs in the line which is part of the service I pay for monthly. Senior Tech Jason Gomez / Tech Donavon Saario both came out. Job they conducted: 1) Clear the line which was the p-trap under the sink. ($150 they charged, though was included) 2) During their inspection they noticed my air handling box primary and secondary lines were installed backwards, needed a swap. ($150) 3) Install a safe-T switch (water overflow switch) in line with my secondary line ($399) Issues: Overcharged / Lack of integrity & loss of my trust 1) Overcharged - The safe-T switch is a $40 switch that took about 15 minutes to install, the PVC pipe to swap over the lines another 15-20 minutes but about 2ft of total pipe *picture (Attic work) and cleaning the p-trap under the sink *picture, wouldn't that be part of clearing any lines? Materials, I say would cost total of $100 being VERY conservative. So they charged me $600 for about 1 hour of work plus parts. REDICULOUS! 2) Lack of integrity and loss my trust - After they cleaned my condenser (part of the service) we went to go over the work they will conduct. The senior tech joined the other tech and was trying to advise me, then being the experts that I had a refrigerant leak. They wanted to do this inspection that cost $699 same as the cost of what they told me it would cost for the above work, "they didn't want to nickel and dime me" and if I don't fix the leak, the coils can freeze over and a big block of ice can form and destroy my ceiling with water damage! They mentioned they didn't see any residue leaks from the condenser and it would most likely be in the attic at the coil. COST: $4,000 (if current equip is warranty) / $7,000 (if not) I told the tech after the senior tech left that I will just get the above work done, possibly call them out later. I had been a lead aircraft mechanic several years, so I did my quick research from the numbers they got and looking into the MFG manual for my system. System: Lennox ML14XC1-060-230A04 Fieldpiece Measurements (see picture) showed all my readings were on point, 78degree weather at the time if you guys are less technical and want to plug this into google AI. Basically though refrigerant was perfect to the temp we had, TXV was feeding my indoor coil efficiently without flooding liquid refrigerant back to the compressor. Delta T was 71 and 50 which 21 degrees difference is exceptional! They were trying to get me into a $7,000 dollar deal, note they get paid also on jobs (commision).

When one of our toilets stopped flushing, I first tried plunging it and running a six-foot auger through the line, but neither worked. Maria took my call, and Stephen and Erick arrived at our home shortly afterward. Using their equipment, they removed an approximately four-foot-long mass of palm roots from the plumbing line. Because the line had been breached, we decided to replace the damaged section up to the elbow. This was a significant project that required removing the baseboards and travertine tile, opening the concrete slab, and excavating the area to access the pipe. I explained to Maria that we were expecting international guests the following week. She assured me the entire project would be completed before their arrival, including installing new tile and reattaching the baseboards--and they delivered exactly as promised. Throughout the process, the crew worked methodically, kept the area clean, and responded promptly to every question or concern I had. The finished work looks excellent. After repainting the walls and baseboards, the bathroom looks brand new. A quote and ironed out and a date scheduled for repair the following week. After the technician left however, that's when everything fell apart with the customer experience. There was no confirmation of the visit, no emailed contract or price information of the work to be done, nor any information on what time the Kahuna team would arrive. Day of service, only the team lead was from Kahuna and the rest appeared to be subcontracted out to another company. When the team finished later in the day, the slow draining issue was NOT resolved! We had to contact their supervisor and demand that the issue with the sink be addressed since that was the entire purpose of the visit. The team arrived next day with a replacement P-trap to correct the drain issue, but left the drywall behind damaged and did not apply any plumbers putty to the p trap and it leaked until the issue was later resolved by another plumber. Long story and $12,000 later, we do NOT recommend Kahuna on the basis of lack of transparency of work, quality of work performed, and pricing that did not address the actual needs of the problem.
