A friend recommended this stop today. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try out this gem. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner who was baking up all the sweet treats by hand behind the counter. Ice cream, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, sundaes and even take and bake options. I opted for a half order of build your own sundae and this was a lot to eat. Bring your appetite, friends and family along to help with the large portions offered. Warm, ooey gooey brownies with two scoops of ice cream, sauces and whip cream. The taste showcased the love and thought behind the baked goods. Plenty of spots available to sit outside and enjoy your order. I also took home take and bake cinnamon rolls for my freezer. Family dropped by this spot after leaving our campsite, we had driven past it a few days before and saw a long line out the door, so we figured it had to be good! Went in this Sunday around 1pm and we were the only people in line so service was quick, and everyone was very sweet! I got the Pumpkin Waffle Sunday and when I tell you guys that would be my death row meal, that thing was SO delicious. Tasted like every ingredient was homemade or handpicked. We got our order to go, but the place was super cute inside and out. Adorable decor, good seating outside, looked like a cute neighborhood spot! And they also sold lots of yummy looking treats and frozen things to bake at home which is the cutest touch! This place is soooo cute!!! It's not too hard to miss since it's right off the highway and the building itself is adorable. I highly recommend swinging by! the cupcakes are divine! They have rotating flavors and I was super impressed with the texture and taste of the cakes themselves. So moist and soft! My favorite was the peanut m&m chocolate cupcake. The peanut butter frosting is AMAZING! So good!! I absolutely loved it!! I tried the chicken coop and that was good too! They had lemon raspberry, and that cupcake was great. Oh holy sweetness!!! This is a NECESSARY quick stop if you happen to be near Annawan on I-80. If you need to stop for gas, you may as well drive a few blocks further to Paxton's to curb your sweet tooth. The cinnamon rolls are to die for at the corner coop. They come in one, two, and four packs, Carmel or original. So gooey, sweet, and soft......mmmmm! They also offer other baked goods like brownies, pumpkin bars (which were also super delicious), ice cream, cookies, cupcakes and much more that I know I have not even tried. This is a tiny place with cute decor for photo ops and friendly staff. One visit here and you'll be running back to Annawan. read more

Super cute little place to visit for ice cream and other yummy sweets! The ice cream is delicious, we had strawberry and it was on point, tasted like fresh strawberries! They also sell cupcakes. We had the lemon raspberry and it too was very tasty! Moist, the frosting piled high and inside was raspberry and cream filling. This place is freaking amazing. It literally is in the middle of nowhere also but well worth the drive. We ordered ice cream and ate it onsite. They make all their ice cream and it was amazing. You guys, how is this place not more widely reviewed?! I'm telling you, you will not be disappointed with a single thing you eat from this place. Truly a hidden gem. First, the place is adorable. It's a tiny little outpost a few blocks off interstate 80 that has charm out the wazoo. They decorate for all the holidays outside and have some cute photo oops for the kids and the inside is chock full of the most delicious treats. Before you do anything, pick up a pack of either the cinnamon or caramel rolls. Or perhaps both? I suggest the 4 pack because they are crazy cheap and unbelievably tasty. The way cinnamon rolls should be. Fluffy and tender and covered in the perfectly sweetened frosting you want to lick the bowl while making. They last a long time even on the counter at home (in the plastic containers they're sold in anyway) and if you microwave them for like 15 seconds you can pretend they just came out of the oven. The ice cream isn't home made but it's Kemp's and they always have a really nice variety of flavors--something for everyone and so cheap! A giant single scoop in a cup is the size of a man's fist and is LESS THAN TWO DOLLARS, y'all! The cookies and cupcakes are worthy of your sweet tooth too but definitely get the rolls. Homemade cookies and cinnamon rolls, oatmeal creme pies (move out the way, Little Debbie) flavorful, delectable cupcake flavors on constant rotation such as Lemon Raspberry, Biscoff Cookie, Mississippi Mud, and Salted Caramel. Some cupcake joints nail the icing, but lack a tasty cake, but not Paxton's. Add a scoop of Kemp's many flavors of ice cream, and you've satisfied your sweet tooth for weeks to come and still spent under $15. Oh, and the atmosphere is not something I can accurately describe, but if you have kiddos, they'll love it. And you'll love the photo opps. read more

They're still doing it right over there and I would say that is predominately bc the owners are there doing it themselves. May that always be the case!! May the force be with them!! In addition to our love of their jumbo cinnamon rolls, we have also gotten quite enamored with their jumbo oatmeal cream pie cookies and their constant variety of cupcakes. The oatmeal cream pie is so incredibly moist, as are the cupcakes. One of our fav cupcakes is their lemon raspberry. The owner really mixes it up with unique and flavorful cupcakes. From candy themed ones to cookie themed, sweet ones, salty ones and everything in between. She often has cupcake concoctions I have never seen in bigger cities who tout their special cupcakes. And her cupcakes are not jumbo, unlike her cinnamon and caramel rolls. Because I'll tell you.....they don't need to be. They are regular standard size and they are unbelievably moist! I believe she keeps them this size to retain that moist factor and when you polish off one, believe me, you are completely filled and satisfied with that 1 dessert. So many other places are doing jumbo cupcakes and they just don't hold up, cake is too dry and frosting tends to dry up also. We have properties between Cook and Knox county and this is our "must stop". We even phone order it in earlier in the day and they put it to the side for us for later pick-up in the day. And these homemade treats hold up for days on your counter or fridge. I'm a Chicago girl, I've had the best of everything culinary-wise. You need to stop here! read more
