Came here on a warm sunny Friday afternoon. From out of town, the weather was gorgeous but extremely humid. We brought our dog, grabbed a couple of beers and drank on the patio. Loved the small town vibe, you could tell that was a local spot people loved. I would love to come back next time I'm here and support. It's a clean and friendly place. My favorite beer they make is a mango IPA. The only reason I gave it three stars is because several of their beers taste odd They may be a place for people that don't like beer because several of their recipes don't taste like beer or even hint at being beer like. read more

Located in downtown LeClaire Iowa along the Mississippi,this brewery makes their own beer on site. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the views of the Mississippi . We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. You seat yourself and order your drinks yourself as well. The place was lacking that comfort feel. Maybe music would help. We sat inside since it was very warm outside but the inside was loaded with flies..must be the time of year . I tried their Pitter Patter lager with was very light but refreshing. Only 4.8 ABV. My wife had their Bloody Mary special which was very good and served with lots of condiments. There were no food options available . They do sell crowlers to go. read more

The reason I go to Greentree brewery is for the beers ,a good pour at a fair price. I love their porters and stouts. On top of the great beer the service is excellent,with free popcorn and a nice view of the Mississippi. read more

Average at best is how I can describe this brewery. Yes, they make their own beers but all of it tasted less than spectacular. I tried a flight to get a good sampler of what they offered. Meh... the atmosphere is ok given what they had to work with and the staff is ok. Not very chatty or welcoming. Given that there weren't many people in there, you'd think they would have been a bit more conversant about what they had on tap. read more

Cute place! They had a lot of variety and my group was happy with their choices. I had an IPA, two in our group had a sour, and one had a seltzer. I went to Green Tree Brewery with my boyfriend on our travels through the Quad Cities. It's located right next door to Mississippi distillery. They usually have decent craft beer, but they were out of a lot of their popular craft beers when we went. I liked the cool green lights above the bar. It was disappointing that staff weren't that busy and still didn't help us that quickly or well, they seemed to be too wrapped up in their own affairs...chatting. Hopefully you can visit this place on a good day if so, you'll have a Great experience; if not, try a different time. read more

I am typically not a beer drinker but we figured we stop in and see what Green Tree had to offer. It was 6 degrees outside and was surprised how many people ventured out into the cold to come here. They off multiple variety of beers brewed there from Ales, IPA and Stouts. They provided samples of any you cared to try. I highly enjoyed the Berry Barley! Shocking since I don't generally enjoy beer. It has blackberry, blue berry and black raspberry but the Beer is green! It smells like a blueberry muffin, taste like a soft raspberry yet oddly has a mild beer flavor. My friend started with a blonde ale and said it was smooth and delicious but he ended up switching to the Berry Barley. The hubs went with a PB & Java stout. He stated it was very good a full of peanut butter flavor. Yet he two switched to the Berry Barley. They don't offer food but they do have fresh made popcorn for your enjoyment. We ended up purchasing a 64oz Growler of the Berry Barely for $18. read more

Fantastic Micro Brewery! I was on a road trip to Des Moines, Iowa, and stopped in Le Claire to rest along the Mississippi River. I did not expect to find Green Tree Brewery, but I'm very glad I did. The tap room was spacious, with floor to ceiling windows for a great view of the Mississippi River. There was bar seating, tables and outdoor patio seating available. Now that we've talked about the amazing atmosphere...let's get to the beer. Green Tree deserves my five-star rating for making great beers. The more traditional beers, like their blonde, red, IPA and hefeweizen, were spot on. Where they excelled, however, were with some of their "experimental" flavor beers. Two I wanted to really commend on are the C3 Stout and PB&J(ava). C3 stands for "Chocolate Cherry Coffee" Stout. It did taste like a chocolate covered cherry, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Every sip was full of flavor. The PB&J(ava) did have a nice blend of peanut butter flavor. Once again, tasty but not overpowering in peanut butter flavor. I was so thrilled with the brewery, I bought a commemorative glass. I certainly wanted to remember the place. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Visited Green Tree over the weekend and enjoyed our experience. We walked in and grabbed a table right away. They had a bunch of people bellied up to the bar and after a short wait, we were able to grab our beers. They had 15 beers on their sign and my husband and I decided to try all of them with their sampler option. That's plenty of beer between two people! We enjoyed a bunch of them - luckily we have different flavor preferences so I got to finish off the IPA's and he got the Stouts. I think it's a nice little brewery, great location to hang out when it's nice outside (it wasn't when we were there) but it is right on the river so great views. They have a popcorn machine with popcorn to grab for snacks and we definitely took advantage of that. I liked this brewery and they have plenty of beer variations for everyone. read more

We were in town visiting family. We made a day of Cody Road. This was our last stop. There is no food as they do not have a kitchen. They do have free popcorn. Sodas in a can if you are not drinking. They have pints and also 4 oz glasses of their product. They also do flights. Above the river with a view of the river. Staff was to the point but not overly friendly. All self service. You order from the bar, you help yourself to the popcorn and you sort of bus your own table. Bathrooms were clean. A good stop after our stroll of the many shops on Cody Road along with the distillery and wine tasting room. read more

Great local place that we stopped by on our roadtrip. Great selection of various hoppy beers. I personally have "raspberry Hefeweizen" and is to my liking. My only complaint is it does not serve any type of food or chips. They claim food can be delivered though but I don't think it is the same. So A friend suggested this place partially because there was a food photo on the other review. So lesson learned I suppose. Great location and lots of choices. Tug fest is what brought me to this small town and green tree was what made the stop worthwhile. It was a hot day so it was nice to take refuge from the heat at green tree. We got a couple different tasters because they had a bunch of stouts that I wanted to try. I have been visiting Green Tree for many years and always had great customer service. Unfortunately last weekend during there Tug Fest, they had two guys checking IDs to enter the premise. This was not made public. My mom did not have her ID on her, she recieved a cocky rude attitude from the two guys. They gave my boyfriend and I the same attitude when we went to bring our dog on the patio. My mom even had proof of her birthday and proof of her name and still was told no and received the same attitude from them. It never said must have picture ID. This last weekend, I received a cocky attitude from a bartender when asking about there mug club. I am extermely disapointed in the attitudes when the customer service used to be so great! The beer is good, a good place to check out for good craft beer but the staff attitudes are not the best. read more

Out in Davenport for a bowling tournament for the weekend and brewery visits were the number one priority during my free time. This was one I had found through Yelp and wanted to give a try. I was not disappointed. Located on Highway 67 in Le Clare right on the Mississippi River. The location is perfect. Large windows overlook the river and a patio on the north side of the building give excellent views. Weather did not cooperate so we had to sit inside instead of on the patio. It's not a super huge taproom but it's big enough. Plenty of seating at the bar and tables in back towards the windows overlooking the river. Handful of TVs inside for catching the game. Food is not served (except popcorn) but you are welcome to bring in stuff from the outside or even order in. The beers were fantastic. They had about 15 on tap. The stouts and IPAs stood out to me. The Coffee Chocolate Cherry stout and Peanut Butter Chocolate stout were both delicious. I also happened upon a couple of mango IPAs that actually had good mango flavor. Between flights and pints I think I tried about eight of their offerings and didn't run across one that I wasn't happy with. They also offered a lot of brewery swag to buy. I didn't get anything but they had a selection of glasses, growlers, and shirts. This brewery was the highlight destination of the weekend in the area. Le Clare is about 15 minutes away from Davenport but it's well worth the drive if you are in the area looking for good beer. read more

Stopped by this great little spot on the river coming from Chicago on a visit home to Iowa. It was a lovely day and had to get out of the car. Nice views of the river and plenty of standing room for outdoors or in doors bar tables. We a couple pints and some to go growlers. My favorite was the berry barley blonde and the pb and java. My hubby got a t shirt with there cool logo. We had a great stop here on our trip home and will be stopping again. Leclaire is a cute river town with a few stops worth the time. The beer is the REAL problem here.... extract sweetened swill that is designed to prey on one-and-done tourists visiting Le Claire. The blonde is an embarrassment, the stout is flat and plain, the ipa is mediocre at best, and none of it has consistent taste. Worst part is, they have 50 varieties of the same 4 recipes. Might be the water quality, might be the uninspired brewing policy, but what ever it is, this brewery is teetering on the edge of being a tourist trap. No food, little atmosphere, gimmicky bingo events... it is simply not a good place to get good beer. Literally go ANYWHERE else and you will be happier. Place is clean and the servers are nice though. read more

Great little brewery in town! Nice to see something unique like this come to Le Claire. We stopped in on a Saturday and it was PACKED. All of the tables were taken inside, as well as seats at the bar. Luckily it was nice enough outside that we were able to sit on the patio. They don't have food here, however they do have popcorn to munch on (for free). They have a variety of different beers to choose from (about 10 to be exact!). They have their 8 regular brews, along with a few rotating/seasonal brews. We ended up getting the flight of all 10 ($1.75/beer). I like almost all of them - my favorites were the coffee stout and mintery night. You can also get a pint for $5, or a small/large growler to go. I will definitely be back! read more

Finally a drama-free bar in Le Claire! Great river view, welcoming atmosphere, friendly and prompt service with a smile. No hassle, no drama, no glares and stares unlike the regulars at "other bars" in Le Claire, everyone seems to be having a great time. There's fresh popcorn and a projector screen to watch tv on, and everything is so clean and tidy! I think I found my new go to in this town. This is an AWESOME brewery located right on the river between Iowa and Illinois. We stopped here on a whim on the drive from Iowa to Michigan, and so happy we did. They make some fun beers (check out the mint stout!) and are a really nice group of people. Great views and in a really cute part of town. Definitely check this place out! read more
