I have used Pawtropolis for training my puppy, for occasional day care, and boarding during the holidays. Both the east and west locations in Athens have been fantastic to work with. My puppy is now 1 1/2 years old and no longer has separation anxiety due to the attention and care she received by the Pawtropolis staff. It is easy to check up on her with staff, and by watching her in playgroups on the live cameras. I highly recommend Pawtropolis!

Love "School"! This is how we refer to Pawtropolis! My Babies Love It! We Love It! The team here are Super! The Services are unmatched! I can watch my Babies while I am at work and know they are safe and cared for. I wish I could get my "Twins" in daily they would sure go. Only 'if' the opening hours were earlier. Otherwise, BILLY, Daniel Alondra and the whole Team are truly Amazing!!! Having to board them... This is the spot. Having to train them... yep right here! Grooming oh go figure... HERE! I can't stress what this place means to my Babies! They get excited when I say school!! I am so happy they are happy to go. We love Pawtropolis!!!

Pawtropolis is THE place to take your dogs and cats for boarding while you're on vacation, or for babysitting while you're at work. Although it's more expensive than most boarding facilities at the local vet, there are quite a few perks here for picky pet owners or those with special needs (owners or pets...). If you like, they'll board your dogs in a special private bedroom complete with a TV that plays flicks just for pets (like Lady & The Tramp) and a delightful child's bed complete with themed linens! However, we take our boys there for the play groups. Your dogs will be specially placed in an appropriate play group by size and personality. Each group is monitored by an employee at all times, to make sure that everyone plays nicely. Pets spend time both indoors and out, either way. This is a particularly great way to help your pets stay socialized, an important aspect for health and behavioral care. Lots of other perks are offered, from massages to deluxe meals and special walks. You can even watch your pup on webcam while you're away! Yes, they also have Kitty City for your cat while you're away. Your kitty will enjoy a private crate as well as time within a room full of scratchables and a very large window for napping. They often have one or two adoptables there, too. You'll know them by the bandannas around their necks. We pay the extra money for Pawtropolis because our boys come back in the best shape here. We have a few other places we use if Pawtropolis is booked, but they always come back a little neurotic no matter how good the care is at other places. Our dominant older corgi gets to work out his nerves by staying active all day. Our playful 3 legged pitbull gets to satisfy his need to wrestle from dawn to dusk. On top of that, we have very specific care instructions as the pit has a very specific feeding ritual to deal with his past abuse and his tummy acid. No problem, one of their staff sits with them to ensure that they eat together without our corgi eating the pit's food. Perfect! I do suggest that if they're boarding you go ahead and have them bathed before you pick 'em up. Wrestling and playing all day for the week will make a pup stinky, you know. We love our happy, tired and fresh smelling dogs and always agree that it is worth the money! Discounts available for longer stays and for multiple pets. Reservations are highly suggested for overnight stays. Know that drop-off takes about 30 minutes if you're newer or have special needs and stuff (his/her own bed, toys, food etc. or just use the provided stuff) for your pet. They document everything, and that takes a while! Finally - prior to your first day-time or over-night stay your dog will have to come in for personality testing. They make sure your baby gets along well, and figure out what play groups to put them in for the future. The staff here is wonderful and they always remember our babies when we call to make reservations. Check out their website to see all of the great services they offer, prices, and cute pictures of their guests!

Before we moved away, they gave our pup a complimentary bath, a squeaky toy, and a goodbye letter filled with notes from the entire staff!

Before we ever agreed on anything he came by and met our girls and learned the ropes so that we and the cats would be comfortable with him. Mike has never had to tell us no and we really appreciate that. Even the holidays are wide open for him and it's such a relief. I can honestly say that I don't worry about my girls because "Uncle Mike" is gonna come by. The sheer number of different types of pet care he offers is what makes him stand out. Short visits, walks, sleep-overs, he does it all. We only utilize the short visits but if it ever was needed, Mike is the only guy I'd call. You also can't beat the price. We recently went on a week vacation and decided to come back a day early so we let Mike know he didn't need to drop by that day. Homeboy let the cost of the visit roll over to our next use. Considering he could have arranged other pet sitting during that time and thus could have easily made us pay the agreed upon price, he didn't. I was honestly shocked and it really went a long way with me. The bottom line is this: if you need someone to look after you pet while you are away for however long, Mike Sprayberry and his business is the answer. I can not recommend him enough!!!!

The groomer shaved her nipples off the last two times. She developed scabs and we told them about it after the first. But it happened again. A part of the pad on her foot was shaved off as well. She has been shaking, lethargic and extra sensitive to gentle touch. I called to let them know, they apologized over the phone, they said this never happens. But I can see now from other people's reviews similar carelessness and negligence has happened before. The manager asked for a third try to show they can do a good job. After giving them the benefit of the doubt once already and how hurt our dog is, we've lost our trust and won't be bringing her back.

Yesterday, the day I was supposed to pick her up, I received a text saying "Good Morning! We came in this morning to find that Bella had what looks like some pretty bloody diarrhea over night. She doesn't seem to be acting any differently but there's definitely a significant amount of blood. She did get get groome yesterday so that may have stressed her out some which could cause something like this. We have her on the schedule to be picked up today but wanted to go ahead and reach out considering how it looks. Let us know if you'd like us to do anything for her." I told Muddy Paws I couldn't pick her up immediately but called the vet and made an appointment to have them check her out. The only appointment they had was 2:30, but since Muddy Paws told me she was acting normally I wasn't too concerned. While I was waiting for them to bring Bella out, I asked how Bella behaved while she was there. The girl at the front desk said that Bella barked but otherwise was well behaved. The first thing I noticed was how badly groomed she was. Worst cut she has EVER had and not correct for the breed. Her coat felt dirty and she smelled dirty. As I was driving home it was obvious that Bella was larthegic and moving strangely. I took her to the vet immediately and they were kind enough to check her over early. She had lost 4 pounds (18% of her total weight) and was extremely dehydrated. The vet gave her both IV and subcutaneous fluilds. He ran blood work and found nothing obvious in the labs that would explain her symptoms. He asked that I pick her up before they closed so that we could watch her overnight and to bring her back tomorrow for more fluids because he did not want her to be alone. As I was leaving the vet, it was clear that Bella was still having trouble walking. Upon further inspection the vet determined that that the skin between Bella's toes was damaged due to prolonged contact with the bloody feces which he cleaned out from between her paws. I took Bella back up to Muddy Paws to explain the vets findings. The girl at the front desk stated that she had not worked during the time that Bella was boarded (interesting that she knew Bella barked if she wasn't on the premises) and had not worked there in two months. She went to get the manager. I once again angerly explained Bella's condition. During this conversation I stated that an adult male human could not lose 4 lbs of their body weight in a day much less a 22 lb dog. She clearly was not not eating or drinking and had been sick for longer than a day. I stated that someone should have notified me sooner so that I could get her the care she needed. The manager agreed that I should have been notified, but also said he had not been working until today as well. Later he admitted that she had been sick the day before but assured me they had immediately cleaned the cage. Which directly contradicted his statement that he had no knowledge of Bella being sick until the day I picked her up. I explained that they also needed to clean the feces off her feet (I paid to have her groomed which should have included shampooing her.) The manager said he had never heard that prolonged contact with feces could damage a dogs skin! She has recieved IV fluids for two days; she is on both a oral and topical antibiotics. All 4 paws are infected, and she is still has difficulty walking due to pain. Bottom line - they knew my dog was sick, and waited to notify me until until then day I was supposed to pick Bella. They endangered senior my dog's health and showed no ownership.

The side room for cats is very small, with too many cat kennels in too small an area. The folks who work here seem friendly; Luke, in particular, was very kind to me and my cats. But the reception desk is in the dog grooming area, and chaos reigned during both my drop-off and pick-up visits, with too many people trying to do too much in too small an area. Super frustrating and inefficient. My cats were boarded at the Dawghouse for 5-6 nights. When I picked them up, the cat room was filthy, smelly, crowded with cats in individual kennels. I was told all cats had a chance to rotate in and out of their kennels for exercise time in the cat room at large. I have no way of knowing if/how this worked, but it seems a hard thing to manage with so many cats of different ages, temperaments, and health situations. At pick-up time, my two little boy cats were obviously stressed, they had lost weight, and their eyes & noses were goopy with upper respiratory infections, which required a trip to the vet. I will need to do a lot of traveling in the next several months, and I will be looking for a new boarding place for my cats.
