Since working with U.S. Canine I have had the best of intentions several times to compose a review, but each time I've sat down to type I've been distracted by and redirected to spending time with my totally transformed dogs. Angie, Josh, and the staff at U.S. Canine are amazing. I sought their expertise in February, 2017 when I needed help behaviorally with two of my three female Old English Sheepdogs. I compete in Performance sports with them and am well-versed in the mechanics of Obedience training, but when two started to exhibit signs of aggression towards each other I knew I needed help. The issues I was experiencing required more behavior modification and a psychological approach vs. standard command and manners training. Enter U.S. Canine. My youngest, a high-energy, high-drive 3-year old, completed U.S. Canine's two-week Emersion Program...then the other, a 10-year old, joined for two-weeks of boarding so they could be integrated together on neutral ground before returning home to familiar territory. While my dogs were at U.S. Canine I met several times with Angie and/or Josh for one-on-one consultations, during which I learned more than I could have imagined about what to look for in terms of body language and physical cues to redirect and avoid potential escalating tension between them. I was taught how to become a more effective leader. When Josh and Joey brought my dogs home upon program completion, we reviewed how to proceed based on all I'd learned and all the dogs had experienced. I am happy to report that in the almost year since, we have had no incidents and all three dogs live peacefully together. I still take my youngest, the 3-year old, back to U.S. Canine once a week for daycare...she is the most high-maintenance of my three in terms of temperament, so daycare helps vent her energy and continue valuable socialization. I would highly recommend U.S. Canine...four weeks, two balanced and stable dogs, one happy owner! read more

We took our dogs to US Canine after our Australian Shepard mix started attacking our "Georgia Brown dog" They lived together for a year and a half before any issues. We knew Cassie had some anxiety but did not realize it would or could turn into aggression. We had an evaluation with Angie, our dogs and her pack. We were hopeful when she told us she thought she could help. Cassie stayed with them for a week and then we reunited her and Maddie. Both stayed for another week at US Canine. Upon first reuniting it did not go well. We were thankful that Angie and her son Josh were handling our dogs at this point. The confidence they had in doing so kept us hopeful for reuniting them into our home one day. My husband and I had 2 visits to their facility for our training. And when they were ready to come home Josh brought them to our house and stayed with us almost 2 hours. He made sure we were comfortable and that all of our questions were answered. It was quite the transition for us in our new roll as pack leaders. It was an adjustment in our attitude and energy. It required work and training on our part to make this a success story. Angie and Josh gave us the tools and encouragement to become "loving benevolent dictators!" Our dogs have been doing great and actually play together again. I never thought this would be possible with their violent fights. Cassie is so much calmer and Maddie is more mindful of our instructions. Our friends, family and cat have also noticed the positive difference. It has been a real to pleasure to have such well disciplined dogs that can play together and enjoy their home and yard. Words are hard to find when expressing our gratitude for US Canine. We adopted our sweet 3 1/2 year old pit mix, Rex, from the GA SPCA this past Christmas. They told us he had "mild dog aggression". Well this "mild" aggression resulted in 2 dog bites and 2 very frustrated owners. We were always on edge taking him for a walk - and always so embarrassed at the events that ensued every time we saw another dog (or even worse... squirrels!) The pulling, the growling/barking, and the jumping was getting to be way too much... to the point where I couldn't walk him without my fiancé because I literally didn't have the strength to contain him. We tried taking him to a doggy day care and he lasted all of two seconds, a complete disaster. We found US Canine and were extremely pleased with Joey, Angie, and Josh's professionalism and knowledge. (Tara at the front is great, too!) We dropped off Rex for the 2 week immersion program and the transformation is absolutely amazing... They truly are dog whisperers! I passed by 3 dogs on my hour walk with him the other day and not a peep... he won't even leave my side. Even if your dog doesn't have severe aggression, I would still completely recommend this program to teach your dog what it's like to be part of a stabilized pack... it makes for a much happier dog!! Rex still likes to go play with his new friends a couple times a week! And I'm still amazed when we pull up and see him out there with 20 other dogs!! You won't regret it!! read more

Angie and her team are truly miracle workers. Three years ago a fearful little Frenchie wandered into our yard and lives. No tags or chip, but a whole lot of little dog big attitude. We fell in love with her immediately, but quickly found she was bullying my youngest son, and thought she owned the world. After she nipped him the second time, I knew we needed help if we were going to keep her. After her two weeks at US Canine, she was returned to us a different dog. The difference was amazing! Walks were so much easier, she knew her place in our "pack" and more importantly we no longer feared she would be aggressive to my son or other kids. We love having a safe place for her to go that we trust 100% whenever we go out of town too, and it's like a "reset" button that helps keep this important lifelong training fresh. We have learned so much from Angie and her team about keeping the peace and order as we share our lives with Rosie. Now that a second dog has wandered into our home (Buddy), Angie and her team continue to teach us and are helping us figure out life with two! I can't recommend US Canine highly enough. Angie and her team rock, they truly love what they do and it's obvious they care about our dogs. They are always extremely helpful and time with them is an investment in 'peace of mind' that you will never regret. I first brought my year-old rescue, Joey, to US Canine out of desperation. I could not take him anywhere without terrifying him--not to the park, not on walks, not even near strange walls/rocks/umbrellas. It is absolutely astounding how different he is today. I can confidently take him to any situation (maybe not a huge crowd or such) without worrying about him becoming afraid. Cautious, sure, but more inquisitive than anything. The best thing about US Canine is that they make sure every person who comes through their door (not just their staff) is trained in how to behave with and around dogs. Most everyone there has been in similar situations and can empathize with your dog. I feel like this place is the only location outside my home where Joey feels comfortable: he knows that no one there is going to mess with him. Every time I walk past the dog area, the entire pack is calm, quiet, and seem happy with each other. This really speaks volumes about the quality of the trainers and other staff there. They've always been courteous, understanding, and extremely friendly to both my dog and myself. Any time I've had questions (no matter how small) they've promptly and completely responded to them. Definitely give them a shot if your dog is having behavior issues or if they just need to hang out with a safe, mature crowd. read more

Words cannot express how thankful I am to US Canine. I have a pit bull mix that I adopted at 10 weeks. She is very high strung and started showing leash aggression towards other dogs. I was at PetSmart trying to get her nails clipped and a kind customer that saw me struggling suggested Angie Woods. I had started avoiding walks with her when other dogs were out which was very hard because my neighborhood has many dog owners that walk frequently. This also did not help the energy because she needed the exercise and was not getting enough. Jumping on people and the fence when the neighbors were out was also a huge problem. I took her for an evaluation and they suggested the 3-week immersion program. As hard, as it was to leave my baby for 3 weeks it was worth every day! The first Saturday my son and I went to work with her was amazing! We actually walked her and passed other dogs that were walking at the same time. When Josh brought her home for a home visit, we were able to walk her in the neighborhood and she finally met my neighbors and their dog! We were all in amazement. Like many, we adopted a puppy in 2020 during quarantine. We got our baby, Tucker, from a rescue organization in Hall County and quickly realized that our previous experience with a very outgoing and confident labrador retriever was not any help at all. Tucker was a super chill, happy, and playful dog inside our house where he felt safe, but literally shut down with fear anywhere outside of our house or back yard. He was terrified of EVERYTHING: unusual noises, leaves blowing in the trees, cars, people, bicycles. We could not take him for walks in our intown Atlanta neighborhood at all. Our veterinarian recommended that we medicate him for his crippling anxiety. We are so thankful that our petsitters suggested a consultation with Angie at US Canine. Angie immediately diagnosed Tucker as an introverted "super weenie" and recommended their immersion program. The results were nothing short of miraculous. Tucker learned how to relax and be a dog. We learned how to take charge in a way that allows him to do that, no medication necessary. Tucker is still a super weenie, but now he's a happy and balanced super weenie that enjoys multiple walks per day and is no longer paralyzed by fear and anxiety. We took our rescue dog who was terrified of all people for training at US Canine. He had some serious issues and I truly wondered if he would ever be happy. It was impossible to get him into a car for a ride, or take him on a walk. We enrolled him in US Canine's on site training course for two weeks and when we got him back he was happier, and immediately was able to walk on a lead without cowering. He still has fear issues but enjoys being with us and not hiding all the time. The transformation is just incredible and I would highly recommend US Canine to anyone who has a fearful submissive or an aggressive dog. The training also included training for us. Our dog was rejected by other highly recommended trainers in Atlanta, and we were worried he would never be able to enjoy life. I am so glad US Canine came to our rescue. Angie Woods and Josh are A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!! Now we board him while away on vacations, and it is easier knowing he is happy and having fun too. They will post pictures daily and my sweet dog is always smiling and happy. Each time I board him he makes even MORE progress. I took my rottweiler to US Canine in June of this year. He was not good with strangers and even some family members. He would bark and growl at them so much that they just quit coming to the house. Taking him for a walk was impossible because he pulled me everywhere and it usually turned into a run for me. While at US Canine he had to have his eye operated on for entropion. I did not think I could put the medicine in his eye like I was supposed to so Angie kept him an extra two weeks and doctored his eye until it was healed. I am so grateful to them for doing that and taking such good care of him. Angie showed me the proper way to hold his leash and now his walks are just that- WALKS! He stays by my side and our walks are actually pleasant now. He is a much calmer dog and other people have noticed the change. He will even sit quietly on the lawn now if I am talking to someone in a car. He never did that before. He has changed so much for the better! I saw Josh take an out of control dog and turn him into a calm one. What they call zen or zero. They are amazingly good with dogs there and I would recommend them to anyone in need of some help with their dog or dogs. read more

I had to kennel my dog due to my having surgery. I thought that rather than just putting him in a kennel I would enroll him in dog training. He is a 73 pound 10 month old Doberman Pinscher. I chose US Canine's total immersion program. Boy am I glad I made that decision. Not only is my dog very well behaved now, but he had loads of fun playing while being trained. He no longer jumps on people, no longer jumps on my little dog who is almost 13 and weighs only about 12 pounds, no longer pulls on the leash wile we are out walking... I could go on and on. Also the people are just incredible. They love animals and are experts at what they do. Probably most important of all is they trained me in order that I better understand my communication with my dog in order to have him always mind his manners. I think I needed to be trained more than him. These are the reasons for the 5 star rating. They can resolve any behavior issue. You won't be disappointed with US Canine. Oh and by the way, their training continues even after the total immersion program. They are always there if you need them. read more

We were referred to US Canine by a friend who had a dog with aggression issues. After moving into our new house one of our dogs started suffering from anxiety. This led to her constantly demanding attention. This eventually led to aggression against our other dog, she wanted to be the only one who got attention. So 4 fights in 2 days left me bloodied and sore. It's true people get the worst of it in a dog fight. We brought our dogs to Angie and she evaluated them. We left the aggressive dog with her for a week then brought the other dog in for a week so she could work with both dogs. At the end of the stay Josh, her son, brought our dogs home. We were nervous as can be. By the time Josh left we felt so much more confident that our dogs were going to be fine. Josh told us to stay on the program and be the pack leader. Josh couldn't hide his pride and happiness that he knew the dogs were going to be fine. His confidence inspired us. I highly recommend US Canine they superseded our expectations. read more

I highly recommend us canine! We adopted a very difficult-dog! He was very aggressive towards other dogs. Sometimes it would take two people to hold him back he's a 85 pound boxer with a lot of energy he was very intimidating and it was scary we brought him to us canine and did the program we are following all the rules and he is now a different dog he listens and no longer jump or Barks towards other dogs !! and now he has friends that are dogs from the pack there I was ready to get rid of my dog and my husband came up with this idea that I honestly did not think was gonna work at all but I went along with it to be fair! I am so glad that I did my dog is now a well mannered well-trained awesome dog ! Angie and Josh really know their stuff as well as the rest of the staff and the dog walkers. We have been using U.S. Canine for about three years now. We went there after taking our dog, Simi, to three different well-regarded training classes within the Decatur, GA, area. She'd do well in the class, but outside of the classes, her behavior (fear of other dogs, causing her to charge at them/bite them before they would come after her) did not change. I was ready to return her to the rescue organization (after five years of trying to work with her) when I was finally told of U.S. Canine. Their immersion program was not inexpensive, but we made the decision to give her one last chance - and it worked! She's done beautifully since. We now board her there when we go out of town, and being with "the pack" occasionally seems to refresh her confidence and thus her stability. We'll always be grateful to US Canine for allowing us to successfully retain/retrain our "golden girl". read more

Update to my earlier review: I just got off the phone with a woman who had to put her dog down as a result of the abusive methods including shock and pinch collars used by this outfit. STAY AWAY FROM US CANINE!!!! Greedy unprofessional rednecks posing as dog trainers for aggressive dogs and raking in the bucks. Do not subject yourself or your dog to these people. They will do everything in their power to shove their 2 week immersion program down your throat without even meeting your dog. If you have issues with your dog and want to work with professionals go to Frogs to Dogs in Decatur. Gave U.S. Canine one star because I couldn't post this warning without a star. I have an extensive background as a dog sitter and rescuer. The UK has banned the use of the inhumane pinch collars they use that decorate their reception area. US Canine was our last hope. Our pup had been bitten 3 in 2 years on 3 separate occasions. He became fearful of people, not other dogs. He loves playing with other dogs. At daycare there was one dog that didn't want to play with him and he then became the aggressor. I wanted to put him down, but my husband said let's check our other options. US Canine was the other option. He was put into the 2 week program. We went to the facility for trainings 3 times with Josh. And Josh did one in-home training. Life changing!! He is a much calmer dog and we learned tactics to assist him when he starts to show fear. Progression everyday. The staff is beyond excellent and caring. We even take our dogs a few times a month for daycare, just so they can be in the US Caninine environment. This was the best money spent! read more

I decided to foster my first dog this summer. I was told that he didn't like every dog, but I quickly found out he didn't like any dog. I found U.S.Canine online and emailed them. They immediately responded with setting up an appointment. I took my foster to them and Simon was enrolled that day in a 2 week program. At the end of the 2 weeks Simon was a different dog. Before he couldn't be across the street from a dog to taking walks with them. Angie and Josh and all the staff are ALWAYS so helpful and helps you be the pack leader your dog deserves. Simon goes to daycare and LOVES it. I will never board our dogs anywhere else! They are all so amazing and they helped Simon learn to be a dog and taught him how to meet other dogs and Simon is so much more happy!! read more

Bear was a very badly behaved dog with food aggression, crate aggression and a very bad habit of biting my other pack members. It was recommended that he be put down. It wasn't a problem of obedience for him, he knew all the commands. US Canine was recommended to me as a last resort. He has just come out of the immersion program and while he's not a different dog, he is better behaved and I have learned that it's not just the dog who needs training, it's the owner(s) as well. He is on his way on a new journey of being a pack dog now. Our dog Queen just finished her 2 week immersion program and we are so proud of her. We were not able to leash walk her prior to her training, nor did we have the tools to communicate properly with her. Both my husband and I now feel empowered to direct Queen correctly and we are learning to feel confident in controlling the situation when we take her out for a walk or out in public. Josh was very patient with all of our questions and issues and taught us to be calm but firm and to always follow through on what we start - period. We learned of US Canine from our neighbor when our pit bull, Jackson, was having aggression issues around protecting us. Zen man Josh and Angie changed our tears of sadness-that we would have to find him another home-to tears of happiness! They taught us to be the pack leader, to have confidence when we are in a situation with Jackson that he typically becomes aggressive. We learned how to direct Jackson and place him in a position where WE are the leaders. We are so ecstatic to have our Jackson back home with us.
