We took our puppy to Puppy Pre-School at Scott-Fox training. It was the best decision! She had so…read moremuch fun & got very socialized. And we got a break on dealing with a very energetic puppy! She went 3 days a week. You can pick how many days a week, and which days your puppy attends. You drop your puppy off between 8-9am and pickup between 4-5pm. This gave us free days to deal with the ramifications of the Eaton Fire. They exposed her to all kinds of sounds (fireworks, appliances, birds, etc.) and worked with her on loose leash walking, coming & staying, and being crated. The crating really worked! We thought we wouldn't be able to handle her crying, but after being in puppy pre-school she goes in quietly, hangs out and naps. We also as owners, learned the importance of sleep for a puppy! They sleep a LOT, and are much better pups when they are rested. We'd love the option of a few 1 on 1 classes with a trainer, since we have a lot to learn also!

We had tried what felt like everything and his separation anxiety was so bad that it got to the point that my partner and I basically gave up our social lives, had to coordinate with one another one of us would be going to the market or if it would be a trip where we both can go but someone sits in the car with our dog. We met the team at K9 Logic Dog Training and they assessed our dog and determined what kind of training program would be best for him to address his separation anxiety and the other skills we wanted to work on. Within a week we noticed progress. We finally were able to leave the house for an hour and go to the market together. Week by week the time has gradually gotten longer where we have been able to leave him alone for longer periods of time to reclaim our social life back. I was skeptical at first, but after that first week I became a believer. We are so happy with the results that for the purpose of just giving him structure and routine we signed him up for more classes and he LOVES being at school. We've also participated in the weekend group training sessions and they are so helpful to not only give our dog routine, but it's a great way to reinforce structure and keep him sharp with everything he learned at school. I have two middle-aged chihuahuas who love to bark, are reactive to strangers, and are very anxious. I had low hopes that I would ever be able to control their behavior, but decided to give this a try. The first time Kevin came over we spent a long time talking about their behaviors and going in depth about how to best communicate with them. Since then we've worked on decreasing their reactivity when people enter the house, exercises to help improve their listening, and their behavior on walks. After only two months and three training sessions, they're significantly less reactive to new people and most importantly seem more comfortable and confident in themselves.
