After eventually figuring out the process, I went to the register to pay, where there was still no eye contact or conversation. I then returned to the machine to engrave the tag and nearly broke it several times trying to fit the tag correctly on my own. A second employee later came in, and when I asked for help, he was noticeably more friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience made it clear that consistent customer service training is lacking among the staff. I will be choosing PetSmart moving forward.
