Great event to support mans best friend. There was a nice balance of vendor booths, food trucks, and activities for everyone to enjoy.

My favorite bookstore!! I first heard about this place as it's one of the rare bookstores in all of…read morethe US that has both books and cats!!! There's a quiet room in the back where there's a few cats up for adoption. This way if you're allergic or whatnot, you don't have to worry about any cats wandering around (though personally, I'm totally cool with that!) I love their selection, they have such a diverse selection in all of the genres. It's such a treat to come visit because I can always find books I haven't seen yet! They have a wide selection of merch, like soap, stickers, pins, and more. The decor is so cute; last time I went there were so many origami cats everywhere! I also LOVE how connected they are with the community; they have a list serve you can sign up to get a monthly newsletter of all the cool events they have! I'm really happy we have such a unique and special bookstore here.

It was hard…read moreto navigate to the fiction shelf as there were so many people looking for new books to add to their collections. My genre of choice is Romance and I did not see a dedicated Romance section. Luckily, "House of Cotton" was on my TBR, as I had bought and gifted it a few years ago. So I snagged it and paid. The two workers behind the cash wrap were friendly and took the time to make me feel like I was the only patron in the store, despite what was probably an onslaught for the day. Rad Cat also has a curated selection of stationary and journals to choose from if that's something you're also in the market for. They have a section for cats you can interact with, however with the amount of people that came through on this day, the cats were also overwhelmed and weren't able to be interacted with. Which is totally fine and made total sense for the day.

This…read morehusband‑and‑wife team, Dr. Sharon Dose and Dr. Tom Dose, is truly exceptional: pragmatic, efficient, well‑organized, honest, and incredibly thorough. After visiting many veterinarians over the years, this is hands‑down one of the best places I will ever take my small dog. Our Bichon Frise, Aspen, came to us almost a year ago from a horrific puppy mill, and today was his very first anesthesia dental cleaning. I'm a huge fan of Dr. Karen Shaw Becker and her book The Forever Dog, and after reading her sobering statistic--"By age 3, 80% of dogs have periodontal disease, most of it below the gumline where bone loss, abscesses, and tumors go undetected"--I knew I had to get his teeth taken care of right away. From the very first visit, I was impressed. Parking is easy, the location is simple to find, and Dr. Sharon Dose personally handles everything from answering phones and booking appointments to performing thorough exams. She provided clear estimates without me having to ask (unlike many other vets in town), and she even took the time to show me exactly how to brush Aspen's teeth properly at home. No other vet has ever done that. The day of the procedure (early Sunday morning), their thoughtfulness truly shone. We received clear pre‑op instructions, a straightforward bill breakdown, detailed emails before pickup, a phone call with updates, and even a look at the decaying tooth they removed. Everything was handled with skill, excellent time management, professionalism, and genuine care. Their passion for keeping pets' teeth healthy is obvious. We're deeply grateful for the tooth extraction and the thorough cleaning. Aspen's teeth are now sparkly white, his breath smells so much better, and--most importantly--we know he was in the best hands possible. Their honesty, knowledge, and non‑predatory pricing make them absolute gems in the Reno/Tahoe community. I truly wish more people operated with their level of integrity and heart. If you have a small dog, do yourself a favor and go see them. You won't find a more hardworking, caring, or trustworthy team. Highly recommend for your fur babies!

I'd give 6/5 stars if possible!!…read more Reno Rats has beautiful and well-breed pet rats. We added two of their babies to our mischief, and we can already tell the differences in temperament and health between them and our older pet store feeder rats. We love their distinct markings and friendly nature. They made the whole process so easy! We were on the waitlist for a couple months because we wanted dumbo eared babies with smooth coats and unique markings. We got regular check ins and lots of updates once the babies were born. Once they were old enough to be adopted out, we got to pick which pair we wanted and set up a time to get them. What I love most is how much they care about their rats. They talked me through the introduction process between my older rats and the new ones. They've also been a super a helpful resource for care advice and local resources. When one of our rats got injured, Reno Rats recommended we go to EVS Pet Urgent Care of Reno. They were able to clean the wound, prescribe antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds for a reasonable price. I doubt my rat would have made it without such prompt and competent medical care. If/when I have more space for rats, I will definitely adopt from Reno Rats again. They're the best breeder in Northern Nevada!

Communication is sooo easy and i've always felt able to reach out if needed for anything I needed or just to share cute pictures. Overall, 10/10 experience, affordable, helpful, and the best adoption option by far.

We quickly found out that outside the house is a different story, as she is very reactive to dogs, to the point that she would lunge and throw herself at other dogs walking by when we were on a walk. It didn't matter the size of dog or how they were reacting, it was like a switch flipped and she immediately tries to go for them. After a couple of extremely stressful and scary walks, I knew it would be best to reach out to a trainer for help. I was aware of Barkside because Josh volunteers his time at the humane society and I have seen him working with dogs there. I reached out and got a quick response, and booking is a breeze with their online calendar and payment processing. From the first time meeting Josh I can tell how much he loves dogs and how much passion he has for helping them. He is always saying how whatever issues a dog is presenting is not their fault, and focuses on how we as owners can give them the guidance and structure they need. He has been extremely helpful in showing us walking techniques and best practices, and also how to react to perceived threats outside. He has never hesitated in dealing with any situation we encounter and is diligent in making sure we as owners feel comfortable handling the situation as well. It will still be a while before our pup is able to work through her behavioral concerns, but we are already seeing great progress after two sessions. I feel much more equipped to handle dog encounters now, and am no longer scared anytime I see a dog approaching on our walks. If you have a reactive or aggressive dog, I highly recommend working with Josh.
