For some odd reason all dogs love the groomers. I use Nora who is hands down the true Dog Whisperer. My Pekingese PiePie comes back CALM and BEAUTIFULLY groomed every time. No detail is forgotten or skipped over from nails, to anal glands to attention to the thick and long coat a Pekingese has. I would never have found them without a recommendation. I will never switch. Nora has been Rex's groomer since he was six months old. He's eight now and we haven't taken him to another groomer. She always gives us an update. He's prone to skin allergies and ear infections so she does a thorough cleaning. My fur baby comes home happy with his bandanna on and smelling fresh & clean. Customer service has always been great. Have not had an issue the entire time we've taken him there. Nora also took care of our chocolate lab, Moose, before he passed. I am very upset with the carelessness and lack of professionalism from Cheri during my experience with Paws Grooming today. To not notice the obvious, very visible blood on the front paw during a nail trim is really telling of the type of care that my dog received. During the nail trimming appointment, I walked over to peek at my dog and saw what looked like blood on his paw. After I paid, I took him right outside to give him a quick look and he did have a lot of blood on his front paw (super visible on my dog's light colored fur).  I immediately brought him back in, alarmed at the amount of blood on his foot. Cheri took him back, saying it happens all the time and isn't a big deal, and that she must have cut his dew claw too short. After she cleaned the wound,I requested for her to check the other feet, at which point she said she didn't realize he had rear dewclaws. I had even specifically asked her if she had cut his dewclaws before we left the first time, which she confirmed. His appointment was for his nails trimmed, and for her to miss this and so haphazardly rush him out, in addition to the unnoticed bleeding paw shows me how careless she was. She quickly clipped his rear dew claws without filing, which once at home I noticed weren't even done properly (pic attached). While I understand people may make mistakes, the way she handled it from the moment I brought him back in was very rude and dismissive. She kept saying it happens all the time and that it's not a big deal. While I was sitting there checking my dog's feet and telling her I was concerned because this hadn't happened before, she quickly brushed it off and abruptly moved to address the only other customer there. It was clear she was over it, and so I just left. While this may be common to her, personally, It's never happened before when I've taken him to other groomers or done it myself, and the amount of blood was alarming. The way she addressed this issue was just so dismissive.   I'm really unhappy with how Cheri treated my dog so carelessly and brushed it off. She was unprofessional in terms of the quality of work as well as her demeanor. I really don't normally EVER write reviews but this experience was just so negative. read more

My dog had a traumatic experience with a groomer and has extreme anxiety going into grooming appointments. It was so bad that I refused to take him anywhere and cut his hair at home. I knew about Paws through a referral and what was a positive for me was that they did not hold dogs in cages on standby to get their hair cut and they took 1-2 hours to groom. They don't take your dogs to a back room, everything is out in the open and transparent whereas some of these groomers tell you it will take four hours and leave your dog in a cage in the back until they are ready. I made an appt with Cheri because in her bio she had mentioned that she was empathetic towards dogs who are difficult to get groomed. She was attentive and listened to what I wanted. My dog looks great and I will be going back. read more

We had an awful experience at Paws Grooming. We have taken our dog in the past and have dealt with the owner directly and had good service, however this last time was awful. I first called and made an appointment for our dog for a grooming. We were told it would be between $55 and $65 for a bath and cut depending on the dogs coat. When my wife went to drop the dog off she was greeted with nothing but attitude. The last time we had our dog there he had an allergic reaction to the shampoo (no fault of the shop) so this time my wife asked for the groomer to use hypoallergenic shampoo on him and my wife was given an eye roll to the request. My wife also let the groomer know we did not want him shaved so the groomer ran her hands through the dogs coat and agreed to take about an inch off. When the groomer called me an hour later she said it was going to be $75! When i informed her when i called and spoke to the owner she said $65 on the high end. At that point she got a very snarkey reply this is why we don't quote over the phone and the owner didn't see how matted he was, even though she ran her hand through his coat at drop off and didn't say anything about being matted and he is brushed almost daily. When my wife went to pick him up she was shocked to find him shaved and had a huge bald spot on his face. She was also greeted with more attitude when she went to pay with a card and was told they only take cash or check and that she told me that on the phone when she called to say he was ready which was not true. Like I said Kathy the owner has done a good job in the past however after this experience and two emails to her with no response has tarnished their reputation for us and we will not be returning. A simple response to our email with an apology for our experience would have gone a long way. read more

This grooming place was truly sub-par and mediocre at best. We sent in two of our dogs - both less than 15lbs - and both of their haircuts were unsatisfactory. Their fur was uneven - long chunks left uncut under their bellies and random long bits on their backs. The hair on their snouts was extremely uneven with one side cut short and the other left quite long, making the dog's head look lopsided. The haircut looks unprofessional and haphazard. the groomers said they emptied the anal sac but upon inspection the sacs on both dogs do NOT look properly emptied. We will be taking our dogs to another groomer to fix their hair and empty their sacs properly. We will not be taking our dogs to this establishment in the future. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Paws Grooming and Kathy! My dogs were skunked twice recently and my husband and I tried using the home remedies which worked the first time but the second time was the worst!! We bathed them again and again to no avail. The skunk stench lingered and we sort of just "lived" with it until I found out about Paws Grooming! I told Kathy to watch out for the skunk stench (tends to be more potent on a wet dog) and she smiled and said no problem! I honestly didn't think anyone could make my dogs smell good again, but I was proven wrong! I picked them up and they had on the cutest bandanas and to my pleasant surprise, not only were their coats extremely soft but the skunk stench was replaced by a fresh and floral-like perfume. Not to mention they got their nails done (cut/grinded), ears cleaned, and "express and emptied" the anal glands for a very reasonable price! I will definitely be taking my pups here from now on! Worst. Experience. Ever. I came in about two months ago to get my German Shepherd groomed. I was only charged about $50 which I thought was great, and they said my dog cooperated well. I genuinely believed the service was awesome. So I brought my dog in today again. Once I dropped him off, all was well and I left. I get a call while he's there and the lady tells me she'll be charging $60 instead. Then she calls again half an hour later and says she needs help with cutting his nails. She's supposed to be a professional groomer.... Anyways I come in and she tells me apparently my dog "broke the bath" and tried to bite her, and also that now I have to pay $75. He's gotten groomed before dozens of times. Everyone always tells me how well behaved he is or how cooperate he was when getting groomed. She was being incredibly rude, saying my dog was not welcome anymore. Worst of all, she never cleaned his ears, expressed his anal glands, or did anything other than give him a two minute bath, and she scared him. I'm so disgusted because it's obvious my dog hated the place. Do big dogs not get groomed there? Are big dogs not allowed here? I'm so frustrated and disappointed. read more

I should have taken the reviews in serious consideration. Laura is a sweet lady, however grooming dogs are not her talent. My maltese came out looking like something I would do. This is why I take him for professional grooming. I received anything but. I couldn't take his look and took him to another groom for hopeful redemption the following day. The first time I brought my dog to Paws Grooming was 2 years ago. The service has completely declined since then. At first the prices were great and the customer service was excellent and welcoming. These past few times I've brought my dog in the inconsistency in their prices are ridiculous. This last time I brought my dog in I was charged $75! I was so taken back because I have never paid that much at Paws. I asked if their prices had changed and in fact they did not. But they did inform me that I was being charged extra because my dog tried to bite the groomer during the grooming session. They do not have it stated on their prices that you will be charged extra if your dog is difficult. And I have never heard of that policy in my 10 years of being a dog owner. Not only are their prices inconsistent, the owner is rude. She always tells me how difficult my dog was. I genuinely felt bad for bringing her in because how much of a burden I felt my dog was for the company. I am disappointed in Paws and will never bring my dog back. Save yourself the headache and the money, find another groomer. read more

This place was clearly a triumphant winner when it held the previous name of Paws Pet Place. I am not clear as to the specifics of what took place to bring this less than desirable new business with a strikingly similar name as its predecessors, however it is nothing short of a tragedy. Along the likeness of losing a best friend or family member, I feel as if this is a void I cannot fill. I tried with all my muster to give this new place (which shockingly has some familiar faces working at the establishment) a fair tug at the proverbial rope. Unfortunately I am left with not one good thing to say about this place that I once ranted and raved about from the rooftops for all to hear. I consider myself a big advocate of small businesses, I do all my shopping at mom and pop establishments, and have been frequenting this place for over 3 years. It pains me to even rationalize what brought this once great place to the current shambles it is in. A place that once embodied smiling faces and jovial conversation with each person that entered the door now fosters in-genuine grins that resemble that of the Secretary of State office employees down the street. The prices continually climb higher and higher each time you bring in your dog and it appears that the friendliness you might encounter initially at this establishment will slowly descent until you receive a mere grunt when you walk in their door. After two visits for grooming appointments at the (newly named) 'Paws Grooming' I decided to seek services elsewhere, as the 'accidents' that my dog bore the brunt of physically were not something that I was going to tolerate. Accidents happen, I am not foolish to think otherwise. These accidents became a redundant occurrence that I felt I was supposed to accept the responsibility for (financially as well as emotionally), it was no longer an apologetic explanation as to the events that occurred but a matter of fact statement that did not even embody a genuine apology. Perhaps this place will return to its once former glory over time, but I will not stick around to find that out. I suggest if you care for your pet, you seek grooming services elsewhere. read more

The groomer was a very sweet and nice person. This was my puppy's very first haircut and she did a great job handling him. He was very even and well groomed. The only thing is, I noticed that in the car, he was shedding everywhere! There were little white hairs (he is a bichon/yorkie mix) everywhere in my car and I've just never experienced that with my other white dog. I haven't noticed it with other groomers either, so I'm not sure if it was the shampoo they used, technique, or something else. Very nice people though. Kathy does an amazing job on Chili, my crazy poodle. I've been else where and they have massacred her beautiful poof, but Kathy never disappoints! And, at this point, all I have to say is Chili needs an appointment, and she already knows how I like her groomed, and always does great. Kathy is amazing !! I only come here to get my puppies groomed. I had a bad experience at either petco/pet smart a while back as the groomers there ruined my dogs nails. Kathy is very sweet with customers, both people and pups . Shes professional and she gets the job done right. My dog sheds alot but Kathy fixes that issue by trimming/ shaving my dog in areas needed. Nails are cut straight and filed soft. Ears and teeth are super clean. My dogs smell and look like a million bucks after Kathy is done with them. The price is more than fair. Only you Kathy!!!!! I have been taking my dog to her for 2.5 years, and he is always happy to be with her at her immaculate and adorable storefront location.
