Been going here for a couple years to get my mini schnauzer, Dino, groomed. They typically always have availability even if I call the week of to book. Every experience has been great! Dino is usually done within 2-3 hours and he always comes home looking and smelling fresh! I get the schnauzer cut and never have any complaints! Update: Owner ended up responding with two text messages but according to her, we've been in contact many times throughout the ordeal. BEWARE***Kennel Cough Alert*** 12/10/2024 I dropped my dog off for the first time at a boarding facility here. I felt confident after speaking with the lady that works there that this would be a decent place for my furbaby. I did not have a great experience with the man that works there and to find out, he's the "General Manager". I dropped my, almost 2 y.o., dog off here from 11/30 - 12/8 as we were going on a cruise. Upon pick-up on 12/8 around 11:45am, I asked the GM how was Kingsley's stay, and he replied "good". I expected to hear more than just good as an update, but ok. As the GM brings out my baby, he is coughing and honking. I asked the GM about it and he "promised" that Kingsley wasn't sick but was pulling on his harness (not collar). I told him that in all the year(s) that I've had him, he's never made those sounds pulling on a leash. I asked him if he was sure and he stated the same thing. When I got home, Kingsley continued to cough, honk, sneeze, and try to clear his throat. Around 4pm, I called back to inform them that he's still making these sounds and there's no harness or anything on him. The GM said how it was impossible to be Kennel Cough, how they had a slow week, how there wasn't many dogs, etc. The thing is, Kingsley is unaltered, so he couldn't have the play time with other dogs anyway so it doesn't make sense. Kingsley also had soft stool with blood. I asked him if he had noticed or if any staff had noticed and he said no. This leads me to believe that they are not keeping a true watchful eye on the dogs to any degree. The GM says that him nor any of the staff heard Kingsley coughing or noticed blood in his stool. Kingsley was with them for 9 or so days and he did not arrive like that. I've never had any illnesses with him up until this point which I expressed to the GM. My rhetorical question to him was so this is Kingsley's 1st time coughing at my noon pick-up and bloody stool by 4pm and it's sudden onset?! That's ridiculous. The GM denied it and said how we couldn't prove anything without a vet's opinion as he is not one. He said after taking Kingsley to a vet, then we could have "the" conversation. On 12/9, I took Kingsley to urgent care and he, in fact, has Kennel Cough. They loved on him and prescribed him medication. I relayed the GM's messages to them to check for their medical opinion and they made it clear that it's impossible that his very first time showing signs of Kennel Cough and bloody stool was when I picked him up. I called Paws and Friends today, 12/10/24 around 5:30 pm, and confirmed the Kennel Cough to the GM. Did he apologize? No! Did he seem caring? No! His response was that Kennel Cough is not 100% preventable. I could understand that to a certain degree. My issue with him is the denial, suspected dishonesty, and the lack of accountability and customer service. I asked him if there would be any reimbursement for his medical care or even a portion of his stay, the GM said no. I feel that like paying for Kingley's vet care at the bare minimum could have righted this wrong. Quite actually, I would have been the upmost satisfied with a more transparent answer and wellness update upon pickup akin to "Hey, I'm not sure if Kingsley is ill, but we noticed this and that and we'd advise he'd be seen for these symptoms because ( ) isn't 100% preventable. But no, I received an Oh, he's just pulling on his leash, I promise he isn't sick. Oh, he just coughed once, that's not indicative of Kennel Cough. The service and treatment my family received is unacceptable and I cannot recommend Paws and Friends to anyone with pets. Also, I asked the GM if there was anyone that I could speak to besides him, a District Manager, the owner, anyone above him. Guess what, he's the end-all-be-all. In his words, the owner isn't really involved in the business. For boarding, I spent shy of $300 and for vet care, I spent about $280. **Message shortened for update space** read more

Most recently my dog was also boarded from Dec 15-22. They called me on day 4 saying she hadn't been eating. When I picked her up she was sick. Took her to the vet that said she has a stomach digestive infection. 2 days before Christmas it Cost me an $874 to get her healthy again. They will be receiving the bill for compensation read more

I would not recommend Paws & Friends to anyone. My Puppy was needing to be boarded for the first time this past weekend and when I picked her up from her 4 hour evaulation I was informed that she was accepted. when I dropped her off the next day I was told by a young man (whom was working alone and did not have kind things to say about the people that helped me the day before) that I when I picked her up I would need to pay for an extra day I picked her up after 2pm, and pick up was until noon. After my trip I arrived to pick up my dog at 1:30p which I assumed would keep me from having to pay an extra day. I was greeted by Donna, whi was very friendly and informed me that she could not release my dog to me until 2p because the system would not allow her to. I told her that I had other things I need to do but if i had to sit in the office and wait 30 minutes for the System to release my dog I would but I wasn't going to pay the extra day. She said that she would get her Manager and see what she could do. With me, my 8 y/o son and girlfriend standing in th office, a women burst through the door into the office yelling at me an pointing, telling me that I am lying and she was with him when he told me the pick up rules and I was wrong. I felt attacked and disrepected. Then when I told her that I felt like she was attacking me she says " I was going to waive the extra day" first off it wasn't after 2p so I hadn't assesed that fee, and second, was she going to add the extra day because she was mad that I arrived befor 2p? I asked her her name and she snaps at me, Nicki, The Owner! I told her that this was horrible customer service but at this point she stopped communicating with me or looking at me, and proceeded to charge me for the extra day and left the office. My puppy came home with a horrible Eye infection that she still has, and when I tried to reach out to Nicki she refuses to return my call.I heve never delt with an owner of an establishment that sets such a horrible Customer Service example for her employees, doesn't communicate with her customers, and lies about being present in a prior conversation. Nicki did not help a situation that started calm by elevating it by busting into the office yelling at me and treating me like I was trying to get over on her rather than just making her pick up policy more clear. If you cannot pick up your pet between 12-2p then just say pick up your pet before 12p or pay for an extra day. read more

Love Love Love this place! We take our Dog Texas there to get groomed every few months and we couldn't be more pleased. When we moved here in 2007 from Colorado we were looking for a new groomer. We got a coupon out of Pearland's best and tried them out. They take great care of our beloved 16 year old lab/sitter mix. We have never used the kennel but I am sure it is just as good as the grooming. You can't go wrong with this place! read more

Our dog stayed here for a few days while we were on vacation and I felt confident that she was well taken care of. She had her own private room and was treated very kindly by the staff. When we picked her up she was so happy, she had been groomed so nicely and had an adorable bandana on. Would love to come back if we ever need to board our dog again. Will definitely be back for grooming. There's nothing fancy or themed about this place like many of the kennels are today.. but if you want a good trusty boarding place that's clearly been in business for a while (a good sign that they're good at what they do) this is the place to go! read more

I would strong advise you not to take your dog here. I recently took my dog to get groomed at Paws and Friends. Yes, the staff working at the front dest was very friendly and helpful. However, once I got my dog home I found a huge fresh wound under his arm. It looked like a razor sliced his skin off. We called them to explain the situation and were told that our dog had matting under his arm and because of rules and regulations, they had to use a razor to remove the matting, not scissors and the groomer had to get close to the skin so it was probably just razor burn. It definitely was not razor burn, and I emailed in pictures to prove it. A day later I got a call saying our dog had a preexisting scab and the groomer had to rip it out to get the matting taking care of. After days of back and forth and dozens of nonsensical excuses that didn't match up, no one at Paws and Friends would take ownership of their mistake. I understand accidents happen, but don't let a dog go home with a wound without telling an owner about it. Oh, did I also mention that they gave our dog the haircut we explicitly told them not to (after we showed them pictures of what we wanted) Yeah. Find a different groomer. read more

I don't know who is more traumatized... me or my dog. Long story short... I should have seen the red flags... Me: Wow it sounds like you guys have a ton of dogs back there! Young Man Worker: "Yeah, more than we can handle." He was right. We left our dog there for less than 4 hours the other morning so she could run and play with the other dogs while we had remodeling going on at the house. My husband picked her up at 11:30. He immediately texted me stating that she will never be going back. When they got home, I almost fainted when I saw my dog. Sure she's allowed to get muddy and play... but she was wet/muddy/exhausted and could barely walk! They informed my husband (when he got there...no phone call) that she had been throwing up... and she vomited again in the truck on the ride home. She drank some water when we got her home inside and immediately vomited again. I was livid. Something happened to her and no one volunteered any information to us so I called. Apparently, there is a "time-out run" ... I had not idea about this "time-out" but apparently there is one for the puppies who become "pushy". Well, we specifically stated that our dog could not be kenneled because of anxiety reasons ... much less kenneled outside. Sure-fire way to dehydrate a dog. As we washed the mud off of her face we saw she had a small, red, bloody bump under her eye... maybe a bite? Who knows of course. She had hell recovering. It was hours before she could hold down water and couldn't eat until the following day. I completely understand that my dog may have gotten too rowdy, but no phone call when she's going crazy in a kennel and thrown up twice? If she was that big of a problem, we should have been called to pick her up and get her out of there. This was a terrible experience. I will say that she loved coming before that day, and the young ladies who work there are very friendly. Things just didn't go our way. read more

This is a wonderful place to groom and board your dogs. We have been using Paws & Friends for many years and are very happy with their service. When I arrive with them, our two dogs, Ace and Jolie, can't wait to enter and never look back. We will not take our dogs anywhere else. read more

We use Paws and Friends for daycare, and we are very happy with it. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and we get our pooch happy and tired at the end of the day. They open early and close late (7pm) so this works with our work schedule. Actually, I don't understand how places that are open 9-5 stay in business. read more

Love this place! We take our dog Maggie often to get groomed and they do a wonderful job. She's half blue heeler and had a serious shedding problem. She had visited many other grooming places and even with expensive de-shedding treatments she always came home and continued to shed. When we came here the first time they suggested shaving her down. No one had ever suggested it! We went for it and our shedding problems are over. She's so soft and she even looks younger every time they do it! Courtney does a wonderful job every time and Maggie always comes home looking 100% perfect and happy! We've also boarded her... They let the dogs run and play together most if the day (only after a test day to see how your dog interacts with other dogs which I though was a wonderful idea to protect my dog and other dogs) instead of being stuck in a cage all day.
