I asked a couple questions before it was obvious she wasn't going to engage or offer a tour so I left. If that's how they act to potential new clients I can't imagine how they treat the animals in their care. I will not be going back to even give them a chance.

The reason I am leaving this review is just provide feedback about my experience and how I left feeling. When dropping off Lio, my boyfriend and I are super specific about how we cut his hair, because he's a poodle a mix and the cut usually defines that. When I was asked about the cut for today, I asked if we can just do the same as last time. The woman up front even went to find the sheet from a filing cabinet and called the groomer to the front to discuss it with me. She asked if I wanted a "4" all around and I said if that's what he got last time then yes. She copied a few notes from his last sheet to today's sheet. When I picked him up, I was very surprised and didn't even recognize Lio to be honest. I didn't say anything other greet him and give him some love, up until I asked if everything looked good. I said it was muncher shorter than what I expected and again she was kind enough to bring out the sheets and call the groomer out. I showed a video of what Lio looked like when he got his haircut a month ago to the groomer. She said this is what a "4" all around is and I replied I don't know all the terminology about grooming but this is not what he looked like last time. A second receptionist pointed out that his last sheet had notes on there that indicated to keep his hair long in a particular style that obviously were not taken into consideration. I told them, well his hair is gone and I asked well what can I ask for next time so that we can get what we wanted. They pulled out the sheet and made notes with me to ensure next cut would be better. Throughout this conversation, they weren't at all rude but I felt like the groomer realized she had made a mistake. She didn't apologize but said the last sheet had a lot of notes and made it confusing. I also felt it was odd to charge a customer before seeing how the grooming went. I wasn't expecting anything but offering some sort of refund or discount on my next cut seemed fitting due to how much hair they cut off of my puppy. I know in the future to provide photos and be EXTREMELY descriptive. I'm also going to request a different groomer next time we come in. I went ahead and uploaded two photos. One is from a month ago from his last cut and today's; I'm sure you'll see the difference.

If your dog has any type of matting please do not bring them to Pampered Pooches, they are not professional enough to call the pet owner and advise them of next step, when you show up you will have a bald dog that has been traumatized. I thought I was doing the right thing by bringing my dog to professionals to get some of the matting out, but it turns out they were not knowledgeable or professional at all.

She really cares about her employees and all the dogs. The staff is great. Big dogs and small dogs have their own spaces. They have a Facebook page and post pictures throughout the day. We have had them go to play days, boarded them and have had them groomed there. Our dogs love going there. Highly recommend.

I was pretty excited to try this shop out as the grooming costs was pretty comparable to other shops + they included teeth brushing and are convenient to where I live. My labradoodle has a very complicated coat and can get easily matted without daily comb-outs. So I fully admit that my pup arrived with some matting on his chest, under his ears, and his behind. But I 100% guarantee that it wasn't severe enough to warrant being shaved so close that you can easily see the white skin under his coat. He also has scabs under his ear where he was shaved too closely and cut by the razor. When I went to pick him up, his eyes were still dirty and I had to ask to have them cleaned. It was very difficult to write this review as it is hard for me to speak negatively upon a small business. But if you have a labradoodle or any other type of doodle or dog who may have some matting - just be prepared for the worse. I was also charged a de-matting fee when my dog was fully shaved and nowhere de-matted. I will stick with my groomer closer to my job in the museum district who has done a WONDERFUL job grooming h with and without matting. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me with a generous, thoughtful offer to make things right - which was very kind. Their quick response to build great customer relationships says a lot about them as business owners, and is very much appreciated. Thank you!!

They told me about 4 hours. I called around 3:30 just to make sure they were on schedule to be picked up and I had to tell them my dogs name 3x in order for them to "know who he was". They told me 4:30. I get there at 4:30 to my dog being "mixed up" with another dog and told me they haven't even gotten to my dog yet there was another dog ahead of me and it would be 90 minutes. They had already bathed my dog so I picked him up and paid $40 for a bath after they tried to charge me $62 for a freaking bath because they thought he was a poodle. He's a Bischon mix NOT a standard poodle. To top it off I drop my dog off at daycare near my job in galleria and was initially interested in possibly bringing my dog back for daycare since it's close to home if the haircut went good. The daycare area is a joke. It's a room with dogs barking like crazy just wanting to get out of the gated area, and no staff interaction at all. They had puppy pads down and poop on the floor. I'll continue to go out of my way to Camp Run a Mutt in Houston. I will never be returning here.

On the phone Mr. Booker seemed to understand what I wanted. I was told it would be all good... I was not. When I showed up I should've known... I showed up 4 minutes early then was told to walk my dog on the grass (so the "grass" was in between the parking lot isles which had glass) but I had trust they'd be nice then they plopped him in a crate while yelling to get a leash. When I picked him up...He then said "half his eyelashes were cut"!! As a dog mom I thought okay maybe he moved? Then when their only payment is cash or Zelle (red flag/or supporting local) he mentions my dog scratched him and I lied about the size of my shih tzu. I pick up my dog and look at his front nails and they looked ok. I should've looked at the back. When I brought Chewie into my car to see his brother they are usually so excited... Chewie immediately ran underneath my car seat and didn't get out til the garage door closed while I parked...at my house. I was livid. Then they didn't mention they cut my dogs quick "because it happens a lot", but they did mention they cut Chewie's eyelashes. My dog was so scared I could not reach to pet him once. So I called the owner the story changed 4 times. Started with "he wanted to jump off...He jumped but we got him...Then he had the lead on and tried to jump..." then finally "he could never jump w the lead on." So who knows the story because their cameras don't work-I asked. He has been boarded for many vacations and groomed many times and never showed this behavior. While on the phone with the owner I asked to see the area they were bathed in..he said that was not possible. I just wanted to see how it could've differed from his previous groomers. Owner/groomer said they would groom him today, even without an appointment. Keep in mind this was at 11AM. They told my father in law to pick up our dog at 5PM (I was thinking to myself that's WAY too long to keep a dog to get groomed). We come at 5, THEY WERE CLOSED. They told us to come at 7PM instead. That's VERY suspicious. I'd also like to add when they asked what breed our dog was (he's a yorkie) they mentioned they had 3, but they're girls. We come back at 7 AND STILL CLOSED, no one in sight in the store. So we called and called, no one was picking up. We finally get an answer and we're just demanding to get our dog back. I don't care if he was half done or anything. I just wanted my dog, period. IT TOOK THE MAN 30 MINUTES TO BRING HIM OUT. Like what are you doing with him? I ended up calling the police, because no one was answering, no one was in the store, the store was closed, I still didn't have my dog. Like what else was I supposed to do? Leave my baby in there and not know what they're doing to him??!! They brought him out with the leash so tight you can hear my dog choking. :( I got so mad and told the man he was chocking him.
