However, after letting them know I was moving and needed a certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI), their customer service went downhill very fast. They took several days to provide a very simple answer on whether or not they could provide the certificate (they could not), and the front desk was very unresponsive. So, I found another local/Tucson vet that provided the certificate with no issues at all. After providing their front desk with feedback on their marginal customer service (kindly and professionally), their veterinarian today just declined approval of my refilling an important pain medication for my old, arthritic dog needed during our move. Several more refills had already been pre-approved by this vet on the same prescription script. The voicemail left today by their front desk person stated that the vet had decided to deny the refill, since I had provided my candid feedback on their poor customer service. Denying a pre-approved prescription refill after a customer provides feedback feels like retaliation. I trusted Canada Hills vet to help keep my dog comfortable in his old age - and they let us down. I highly recommend choosing another vet clinic in Tucson, given this very bad experience.

Whenever our cats have had more serious health issues, they always call to follow up and check-in. I live about 30 minutes from this clinic and have multiple places that are closer to me now, but will keep my cats here as long as we live in the Tucson area. Highly recommended.

During my first visit, there was very little effort to establish a relationship or discuss my concerns. The appointment immediately became focused on scheduling my dog's neuter. (I should've taken this as a sign) My dog's first surgery appointment was canceled after we had already arrived because of staffing issues. No one called ahead, despite us taking time off work and preparing my dog by fasting him overnight. We rescheduled a month later (With a different surgeon, not by preference) Again, my dog fasted overnight and was dropped off early in the morning. We received no updates throughout the day despite asking to be notified if anything changed. Around pickup time, I CALLED THEM and was told they never performed the surgery because they "couldn't get to him." However, they still performed bloodwork and an exam and charged me approximately $185 even though the procedure we had planned never happened. What frustrated me most was the lack of communication. Had someone called earlier in the day, I could have picked up my dog sooner instead of having him sit at the clinic fasting all day. Between two canceled surgery days, missed work, and poor communication, I lost confidence in the practice and sought care elsewhere. I hope the clinic improves its scheduling, communication, and respect for clients' (INCLUDING MY DOG) time.

But Dr. Horton, all of the veterinarians, and all of the technicians and front desk staff are consistently excellent and I wish I could remember all their names!. Facility is great and I'll get to one very important detail about the facility in a minute, but it's spacious, plenty of room for customers and their pets, plenty of exam rooms, and a nice restroom, plus the pet-themed artwork is great. I really like the online presence, with automated scheduling, conversing with staff, and even the ability to specify technician or specific veterinarian. Now, based on my most recent experience, I wanted to call attention to the comfort room. Unfortunately I had to euthanize one of my cats last week, and not only did they get me in quickly - which should not go unrecognized - but that entire comfort room experience is about as good as it gets. The room itself is incredibly well thought out, with nice calming music, plenty of tissues, comfortable seating, the right low lighting (don't overlook that, it's part of the transitional euthanasia experience), and pleasant decorations. I don't mind one bit that there's some display of (forgive me if this isn't the right term) remembrance artifcacts depending on your method of handling the remains, I actually thought that was a nice touch. They planned this room out really well when building the facility, you can drive right up to it's dedicated entrance, so you don't have to walk through the main area crying your eyes out. But that's all about the facility, let's not forget how compassionate and sympathetic the staff who handle that experience are. And not fake sympathy either, legitimate care and concern. And great attention to detail. Whether it's routine care, purchasing supplies, or euthanasia, Dove Mountain Veterinary handles all of it deftly. And reasonably priced, too.

I recently adopted this beautiful dog. Cherished Tales provided me with wonderful support, but it did not go back w enough previous history. I needed to understand his medical history, n this establishment was enclosed in the packet. Heather proceeded to interrogate me rather than just explain the simple procedures necessary. It took over 10 minutes before I could gently inform her that I did not mean to compromise her company's policies or ethics; I did not need the previous owner's name or personal info; I did know my new dog's 'real name', n I had his patient number from their business. I also said that putting me on the defensive was not necessary. I had left a previous message detailing my concerns n wanting to become a new vet customer, even though their business was miles away! I believe having a trained n compassionate receptionist/helper/educated professional fielding calls is important especially in possible emergencies!
