The place is quite small, so the dogs couldn't be too close to each other or else you wait outside. My visit went well overall. The vet checked both of his ears and ruled out an ear infection, which I was even aware he had. They suggested giving him an injection and doing an ear flush at the clinic, while I would take oral medication home. I had to stop the vet there and asked, "How much is the injection?" I felt the vet was going too fast, and I wasn't aware of the cost. He went back to the office and returned without any paper in hand, just telling me the total would be $207. I then asked how much just the injection was, and he said $27. I gladly agreed, not realizing what else was included in the invoice. When they called me to pay, no invoice was provided. I was asked to pay on the spot. After that then I received the invoice and saw two medications that could have been bought at the pharmacy with coupons. I checked GoodRx and found I could have paid only $13 for both medications, instead of $62.10 at the clinic. I called the clinic to ask if they could provide a paper prescription, and the clerk confirmed they could. However, she mentioned I was supposed to ask for it beforehand. I explained that I told the vet I wanted the injection and only received the cost estimate. The clerk also said they cannot refund or reimburse any costs and advised me to ask for the prescription next time and hoping that I understood. I want to share this experience to advise others: avoid buying medications directly from the clinic, as they are often triple the price. Instead, create an account with GoodRx or a similar service to save a lot of money. I've learned my lesson be cautious and don't agree too quickly. I wish clinics were more transparent about costs and ensured that prescriptions are provided in writing to help you save money. I only knew it was given when my invoice was much higher than usual. $42.00 each for two cats. When I said I didn't think we got them, I was told it was combined with the RCPC. (I thought they stopped doing that years ago.?!) I said I hadn't requested it and I never get it for my cats, I was told by Shelby, "oh, that's my fault." Thank you for accepting responsibility, but that doesn't help that my cats got something I didn't want them to have and I'm out $84. I'll be looking for someone who specializes in cats. For some reason, the vet spends more time with dogs. Does he just not care for cats?

But Dr. Horton, all of the veterinarians, and all of the technicians and front desk staff are consistently excellent and I wish I could remember all their names!. Facility is great and I'll get to one very important detail about the facility in a minute, but it's spacious, plenty of room for customers and their pets, plenty of exam rooms, and a nice restroom, plus the pet-themed artwork is great. I really like the online presence, with automated scheduling, conversing with staff, and even the ability to specify technician or specific veterinarian. Now, based on my most recent experience, I wanted to call attention to the comfort room. Unfortunately I had to euthanize one of my cats last week, and not only did they get me in quickly - which should not go unrecognized - but that entire comfort room experience is about as good as it gets. The room itself is incredibly well thought out, with nice calming music, plenty of tissues, comfortable seating, the right low lighting (don't overlook that, it's part of the transitional euthanasia experience), and pleasant decorations. I don't mind one bit that there's some display of (forgive me if this isn't the right term) remembrance artifcacts depending on your method of handling the remains, I actually thought that was a nice touch. They planned this room out really well when building the facility, you can drive right up to it's dedicated entrance, so you don't have to walk through the main area crying your eyes out. But that's all about the facility, let's not forget how compassionate and sympathetic the staff who handle that experience are. And not fake sympathy either, legitimate care and concern. And great attention to detail. Whether it's routine care, purchasing supplies, or euthanasia, Dove Mountain Veterinary handles all of it deftly. And reasonably priced, too.

I recently adopted this beautiful dog. Cherished Tales provided me with wonderful support, but it did not go back w enough previous history. I needed to understand his medical history, n this establishment was enclosed in the packet. Heather proceeded to interrogate me rather than just explain the simple procedures necessary. She was rude n unprofessional. It took over 10 minutes before I could gently inform her that I did not mean to compromise her company's policies or ethics; I did not need the previous owner's name or personal info; I did know my new dog's 'real name', n I had his patient number from their business. I also said that putting me on the defensive was not necessary. I had left a previous message detailing my concerns n wanting to become a new vet customer, even though their business was miles away! I believe having a trained n compassionate receptionist/helper/educated professional fielding calls is important especially in possible emergencies! I decided to reach back out to Cherishedtales, n they will help by sending me earlier records so I can be proactive in getting the correct medical attention my new pet deserves. However, after letting them know I was moving and needed a certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI), their customer service went downhill very fast. They took several days to provide a very simple answer on whether or not they could provide the certificate (they could not), and the front desk was very unresponsive. So, I found another local/Tucson vet that provided the certificate with no issues at all. After providing their front desk with feedback on their marginal customer service (kindly and professionally), their veterinarian today just declined approval of my refilling an important pain medication for my old, arthritic dog needed during our move. Several more refills had already been pre-approved by this vet on the same prescription script. The voicemail left today by their front desk person stated that the vet had decided to deny the refill, since I had provided my candid feedback on their poor customer service. Denying a pre-approved prescription refill after a customer provides feedback feels like retaliation. I trusted Canada Hills vet to help keep my dog comfortable in his old age - and they let us down. I highly recommend choosing another vet clinic in Tucson, given this very bad experience.

I took him to an emergency vet clinic and he received 2 vials of antivenom. But they were not giving him antibiotics nor were they trying to manage the swelling and he was struggling to breathe. If you don't know how a rattlesnake bite works, they have e poison glands, that are compressed by muscles and inject the venom. HOWEVER, when the muscles relax, the glands go back to normal size sucking some of the blood, etc from the victum back in. So, if the snake had last bitten a rat, say, that rat blood and crap was injected into your dog. So a conversation with the Dr was resisted, I paid the bill and took my dog to my vet at CDO pet clinic. She immediately put him on antibiotics because she is knowledgeable and experienced. They then gave him laser treatments for the swelling, and pain meds. That within 30 minutes. When I left, I had a dog in little pain, breathing easy and on antibiotics for the crap the snake put into him. Within 2 days he was 90 percent better.
