Found a stray boxer in front of the RUSD office building and called to get Redlands animal control…read moreto come get it. After 15 minutes on hold the girl told me to call her supervisor and gave me a number, the number was for Devore Shelter. Devore said call Redlands, since the dog was found in Redlands they refused to get it--no one would come get it and the worker at Redlands told me if I left the dog there I was breaking the law. She wouldn't have someone come look at the dog unless I posted it on Facebook first, even though i told her I didn't have Facebook and expressed numerous times he was a very LARGE, intact male boxer with an unknown temperament. I expressed the dog seemed fairly nice but I wasn't feeling safe with him and my three year old alone in the vehicle. Animal control said my kid would be fine and I had to bring him in or face legal action. I called a friend to come help me and brought the dog in. When we arrived there were three female staff at the desk. The blonde pictured below kept saying he was a good boy and seemed nice. She proceeded to come out to the lobby to give him treats straight from her palm and pet him while I scanned for a microchip. She went back into their office and he began quietly growling at everyone that walked by. This was making me uncomfortable. It was just he and I in the small lobby and they clearly were taking their time. I asked how long the process would take due to feeling uneasy being alone with this animal. That's when the male employee emerged from his office with an angry demeanor. When he approached the desk everything changed, suddenly they were petrified of this animal they were forcing me to be in close proximity with, the same animal my three year old was "fine to drive with". During the whole process, multiple people had come to meet with dogs and potentially adopt while I was in the lobby. They were asked to wait directly outside the door while the staff (pictured below)proceeded to walk back and forth past the dog to get paperwork and ids from them. The staff expressed they needed my ID for paperwork and couldn't trust me to fill it out without it. The ID was in the car and the staff refused to hold the dog while I retrieved it. They wanted me to walk outside past all the other adoptees with a dog showing aggressive behavior. The same dog they wouldn't let any one of those adoptees be in the room with for their safety. When I came back from the car with my ID the male began yelling at me, that it was my dog and I can't leave the stray dog at the shelter(I thought that was the purpose of an animal shelter but I guess not). They said he was aggressive--no wonder I didn't want my three year old with him. I fully believe the hostile nature of the male employee put the dog on edge and caused him to react. You guys had no problem putting my three year old in danger but you guys couldn't be bothered. The male worker had way too much Suavecito in his hair and a skin tight polo shirt all while trying to intimidate me and make me feel unsafe in the office. He was accusing the dog of protecting me and prosecuting me for turning in my own animal. He sat there staring me down repeating demands and yelling at me. They are incompetent and the whole shelter is ran by idiots. They kept the dog and threatened they are having animal control investigate me for abandoning my dog. They are a joke.

I am so excited to finally write this review after a full year with our big guy. We are…read moretraditionally dog people but are getting older and no longer have older kids at home to help with large pets but we were very attracted to the idea of a Bengal because of their higher than usual energy. We were hoping for a good middle-ground between running dogs every day for two decades and a fat house cat and we really feel like we got exactly what we were dreaming of and so much more. Her kittens were impeccable and we can't even believe how lucky we got with our male. He was instantly affectionate and loving towards us. My husband was very wary of cats and believed all of them were skittish and stand-offish. I had a childhood cat and remembered them being easy to own. I convinced him to let me get this kitten after our last dog passed because he was so gorgeous and as masculine as a sweet kitty could possibly look. We were so impressed with Dad when we met him in person and our little guy ended up looking just as handsome now that he's almost fully grown. Even other bengal owners are always blown away by his unusual coloring and shine. This is a cat even my husband is so proud to own after years of telling me cats were for women. Lol They are best buddies and sometimes I feel like I bought my own dream cat but my husband was the one who ended up with the best friend. He has zero negative health issues and has only needed to see the vet for regular vaccinations and altering. We have so much comfort in knowing that he has only eaten human grade food as we have continued the breeder's extraordinary meal plan. We have been a lifelong long kibble and canned food combo users and we had absolutely no idea how low the quality of food that is allowed to be given as animal grade even in the most expensive pet food. Our aunt just lost her sweet male cat to a urinary blockage and we had no idea how common they are in cats fed commercial foods. We take him everywhere with us and he is a huge comfort to me because of my anxiety. Everybody wants to interact with him and love on him and he really takes a lot of pressure off situations for me. I have never known a cat to be so willing to greet a large groups of people and people can't believe how calm he is. We did take the breeders advice and alter him before sexual maturity. He has never even once had an accident outside the litter box or on grass at home or in public. After decades of puppies I was ready for months of potty training. I had no idea how incredible a well raised kitten is at using the litter box exclusively. It was an absolute dream transition bringing him into our home. He has changed my life. We have not gotten a second bengal only because we love so much that we are able to travel with him and worry that flights, imposing on friends when we stay, etc would be too difficult with more than him but I am so tempted every time I see your posts of new litters. We have been life long animal adores but we never knew we could experience a bond with an animal like this. Thank you so much and to anyone considering a kitten--I couldn't imagine a better one in the entire world than the one I adopted from them.

The level of compassion, the patience, the fairness in pricing--it almost felt too good to be true. The second visit confirmed it wasn't a fluke. And now, after our third visit, I can confidently say: this place is truly special. I brought in my sweet chocolate lab, Blue, who was dealing with a pretty bad ear infection. From the moment we walked in, the care and attention we received were on another level. Derek took the time to thoroughly clean and flush her ears--not rushed, not careless, but gentle and intentional. He even showed me how to properly do it myself at home, which I appreciated more than I can say. That kind of education and transparency is rare. Then the doctor--Dr. A (last name started with a Z, I wish I remembered it better)--absolutely blew me away. Instead of jumping straight into the exam, he took the time to connect with Blue first. He recognized immediately that she's a sensitive girl and doesn't love strangers. So what did he do? He got down on the floor with her. He talked calmly, gave her space, and let her come to him. Within minutes, she went from anxious and panting to calm and trusting. I've never seen anything like it. He was then able to examine her completely--from nose to tail--without stress, without force, without fear. That alone speaks volumes about his skill and character. What also meant a lot to me is that he took the time to listen to everything I had to say--even my more holistic approaches (as my husband jokingly calls it, my "hocus pocus"). He didn't dismiss me. He respected me. He explained things clearly and made me feel confident that my dog is in great health overall. He also had an honest conversation with me about the risks of not spaying at her age, but in a respectful way--no pressure, no judgment. They truly respect your choices as an owner while still giving you the information you need. That balance is rare. At a time when so many places feel rushed, transactional, and overpriced, this clinic is the complete opposite. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, and fair. Today I called and got an answer back someone there office messed up and didn't put it in the computer and now I have nothing only a memories and pictures. Even though the girl offers a card of her nose print and a paw I really wanted the clay mold. 210.00 is not what was important it was this sweet loving dog I see before me as a memento. I feel like I'm dying all over again. I'm very disappointed on how someone in the office just didn't double check while putting it in the system or telling the place she was cremated at.
