Paul, THE man named Paul installed a new locking system on my sliding glass door. True to his generation raised on "do it right the 1st time," the door is now perfect. Plus he gives the best restaurant recommendations. He's a Lodi icon. read more

Here's a polished, warm, and professional review you can use for Paul's Safe, Lock & Key Service: 5-Star Review for Paul's Safe, Lock & Key Service I want to give the highest praise to Paul from Paul's Safe, Lock & Key Service. The other day I was locked out of my bedroom--on a Sunday--and I had no idea what to do. I immediately thought of Paul because he has always been so friendly and helpful whenever I've visited his shop on Lockeford and Church Street in Lodi, California. Paul went above and beyond. He came out on a weekend, provided exceptional customer service, and handled everything with professionalism and kindness. He drilled out the lock, replaced and repaired the cylinder, and provided two new keys. I can't thank him enough for responding so quickly and taking care of the problem with such skill. If you ever need a locksmith you can trust, Paul is the one. Outstanding service, dependable, and truly someone who cares about his customers. Thank you, Paul, for an excellent job! VERA read more

Friendly staff. Has everthing you might need in his shop. I recommend this place if you ever want professional help with lockouts .

I was locked out this morning and called at 7:45AM. He made it over in 10 minutes and resolved the issue within minutes. Very kind & reasonable priced, especially calling before opening. It was a very stressful morning and couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. Thank you so much! read more

Very condescending old man. Tried to charge me $270 for a regenerated car key. 20 minutes into him looking to see if he had the base key in stock all while saying me loosing it was an "expensive big mistake".. repeatedly. I made 2 calls while waiting and found a mobile service that only charges me $120 right to my doorstep! bad customer service & price gouging! Yeah taking advantage of people when they need your help is not good for business so I had to post this to warn people read more

Responded very quickly. I needed new doorknob and deadbolt installed on a new door. They got the job done very fast.

Old fashioned locksmith. Ain't no other way to say it. They are friendly and professional. They get the job done and for a fair price. I had some keys made and A few weeks later my neighbor locked herself outside of her house. She was panicked and what to do. And then all of a sudden I remembered that I had a good locksmith in Lodi. We called them up and they were there within 30 minutes. And all for a very fair price. read more

What a great company!!! Paul showed up when he said he would. Came in and assessed the situation with my commercial door lock, and proceeded to get 'er done - no muss no fuss. He was everything you'd hope from a company - efficient, effective (and bonus) very friendly while never breaking stride on his work. If you have a lock problem hire Paul's Key and Lock read more

See all

I had a terrible experience with this person. I had lost keys to my mailbox and needed to have the lock replaced. On the day he said he would come out, I called him three times to ask what time he would be coming out to my place, each time he reassured he would be out shortly. He never showed up, never called to explain what he didn't come out, never apologized. I don't know how people like this can stay in business with such horrible customer relationships. I see several other one star reviews read more

This review is long over-due, I used to work at a grocery store in Lodi, CA and would literally forget my keys in my car every other week, luckily Paul was able to get to me and open up my car. A few weeks later I locked my keys again and he quickly came to assist me, 10/10 recommend their service, they were quick to get to me and very understanding of my clumsiness. read more

I can't say enough about the integrity, honesty and professionalism this company has. I needed quick assistance for my sister's luggage key. The owner Paul came and unlocked his Business to make my keys and gave me a price that was unbelievable. This man was truly a godsend when we needed him and was more than generous. We are so appreciative for everything he did. read more

Paul's Lock & Key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Lodi, California

Thank you to Paul! He came out on short notice on a weeknight when my tenant moved out, locked the keys in the house, and left bags of rotting garbage, the windows open, and the heater turned to 85 degrees. I didn't have my copy of the key and was frantic, but he got there within an hour (he was at another job when I called), got into the house for me, and then rekeyed the front and back doors, without charging an arm and a leg. None of the other locksmiths I contacted on Yelp were available (or did not respond when I contacted them earlier in the day about a rekeying), but one call, and Paul to my rescue. read more

Paul didn't believe me when I said that I would write him a review but here it is! Paul came out within 24hr of my call and rekeyed my house promptly and for an affordable price. His workshop in the back of his van is so cool, like something out of a movie. I wish you and yours the best, Paul! read more

Paul has more than 60 years experience. I doubt if there is any lock & key issue that he can't solve. I recommend him highly.

I'm just gonna have to give These guys the very best review. From only a 10 minute phone call I was back in business. I am from Bakersfield, Ca. I was traveling from Sacramento to Bakersfield in a car I had just purchased. I got stuck in Lodi, Ca. The anti theft light was flashing on my dash The car wouldn't start. I was stuck for 3 hours before I called them. They explained exactly what I should do. Boom worked on the first try. I am so happy and please they helped me without any kind of charge or anything. There are still Good people!!!! read more

Paul was fast, professional and provided excellent customer service. I recommend him to anyone needing locksmith services.

Paul is the Man. My ignition cylinder was acting up and my key broke off inside. Towed to Paul's and let him do his magic. Within 30 minutes I had new keys and a repaired cylinder. Will definitely use him again. read more

After my first experience with Paul's I haven't bothered with anyone else for my building. They are knowledgeable, they have excellent customer service, they are competitively priced and most important, they are honest, they won't try to sell you anything you don't need. I look forward to doing business with them for years to come. read more

Fast, efficient, affordable and friendly. Our car was broken into and the house keys were stolen so we needed to renew the doors. They fit us in that day and l were in and out in well under 30 minutes. read more

My friend (a widow, a senior) was unable to close her safe. Paul's Lock and Key was recommended to her. Two people came, one of them Paul himself. They fixed her safe but charged her $350, told her it had to be cash. Then did not give her a receipt. This is appalling abuse, taking advantage of a senior. Who demands cash these days? Who doesn't document their work with an itemized receipt? And who charged $350 for a simple fix? Paul's Lock and Key, that's who. They should be ashamed. read more

Drove to the middle of no where to open up my house and was super quick! Got to my house within an hour i would definitely use them again!

I have been coming to Phil's for years and never have been disappointed in his work and customer service. For you lock and key duplication needs you won't be left with malfunctioning duplicate keys. Definitely a full service establishment. read more

All the keys for my front door deadbolt were either working poorly or not at all, and my attempts to fix it by adjusting or adding graphite powder were no help. We'd been putting up with that annoyance for a couple years, so I finally pulled the core from the lockset and dropped in at Paul's shop with no appointment. I showed him how one of my original keys wouldn't work the lock--he took it over to his workbench and replaced the internal pins in about one minute--problem solved. The bill was amazingly cheap (Paul, don't read this, but I would have been happy at 3 times the price), and he even threw in a pair of new keys at no added charge. Bottom line: prompt, skilled service at a very reasonable price. This is where I'll go the next time I have any kind of lock issue. read more

Today I met the legend and Lodi treasure, Paul. I needed a duplicate key. I was there in and out less than 3 minutes. Thank you very much, Paul. read more

Have used Paul a few times to rekey all my numerous locks to a one Master key. Has ALWAYS done a great job for me. Highly Recommend.

The best service I have ever received from a locksmith! Paul actually answers his phone (not a call service that promises a call back that never comes!) I received same day, professional service on time as promised!! A real great guy! Honest, polite, easy going with old school work ethic. Very fair price too! You don't find this kind of service very often these days. Thank you again Paul read more

Honest, reasonably priced and work is done when promised. We had nine locked changed.

Always went for hard to find keys but the last time he gave me a ration of ****, did make the keys but ground his name off of them then charged me $2 more per key than previous. was told to go somewhere else if it was a problem. thanks i will. read more

Paul is the owner of this business and he reminds me of my "no nonsense Grandpa". He is gruff, hard of hearing, works his business when he feels like it and is lacking in "people skills". I used him, since he is an FFL firearms dealer, to handle a purchase transfer from out-of-state. He is the cheapest around, but you do have to take a bit of crap from him, i.e. the firearms guy "only comes in once a week or so", and "people might not be there so....call before you come." Yeah...so consistancy is not a strong point either. Also he forgets how much he charges or quotes you. Not a good sign either..... His shop is beyond untidy, messy, or catastrophic. Filthy might be a better start.... Better steer clear of this bozo. read more

I've been going to Paul's lock and key for 15 years. They've fixed locks on my cars, truck, and house. I always thought they were good. This time I went to get a car door lock fixed and got charged double what everyone else charges. After looking at what he charged for this same repair last time, it was still double from last time. Never again.... You've lost my business. read more

Called Paul's Lock and Key when we got locked out of our trailer while camping. He came out right away and saved the day! Thank you Paul!

I need my business door locks rekeyed, he was out here the next day. He is amazing. Quick fast, very knowledgable, and reasonably priced.

Paul was wonderful to work with. He was kind enough to come out on a Sunday morning and change all of the locks on one of our family homes in Lodi; some which we were not able to provide keys for. He was efficient, polite, professional and reasonable. A tough combination to find in this day and age. We would HIGHLY recommend Paul for any job that has to do with any aforementioned items he assisted us with. read more

WOW! The service was exceptional! I was locked out of my home. I had been calling around since 4:30 pm--all or majority of locksmiths close at 5. I had called 12 people to help. Either I'm too far for you, or I can't because I don't have enough time to help you, or they didn't answer. I called Paul's lock & Key reluctantly, thinking I would get the same answer. I told him what I was going through. I was outside with a five-year-old and three-month-old, and I needed to get in. He said okay, I'll come. In less than 5 minutes, he was there. Talk about fast service and willing to help after 5. I was honestly incredibly impressed and pleased. To my surprise, it was PAUL himself who came to help me. He was so kind. I highly recommend this place. He helped me on short notice and didn't hesitate ever. He's a locally owned business! Support him for all your key and lock needs. It took him 2 minutes to let me into my home. Far better than the big corporates. Thank you, Paul, for helping my children and me today. You're amazing. 5/31/22 read more
