Great place for a cold beer. It had been several years since I last visited this location. The beer is cold, great service along with a beautiful view. I did not have any food, but what I did see, looked good. I would return.

A quick trip thru Helen Georgia landed at Paul's Margarita Deck. We were greeted by the first window Bartender who was the Answer Man. Made several suggestions and we took his advice. He made some point on recommendations. The Turkey Rueben was Great as was the Philly cheesesteak and wings. He said the Chicken nachos were quite a big portion. They were! We enjoyed a quiet Sunday afternoon watching Rafting Tubers having loads of fun. Even had a Kitty and Puppy joining in on the fun with their masters. Relax they had life jackets on. Too cold for me but they were happy. Thank you for a nice entertaining day. You do pay to park but your fee is deducted from your food bill. Good deal!

Order at the counter, and listen for them to call your number. There's live music in the dining area, so you really have to listen. The food is inexpensive and delicious, plus we didn't wait more than 5 minutes. There was a steady crowd, when a table opened up, it filled right in again, but it didn't feel crowded, and there are plenty of places to sit. We were there in the pouring rain, I imagine that in better weather you could wait to sit.

Great place to grab a beer or a margarita on a chili day. We came in here and grab some beers and chips and salsa in between shopping. All the cute shops surrounding the place. Friendly people and friendly service. I definitely recommend. I recommend the German Pilsner on tap. Also enjoyed a live band while we were here and they were actually really good! I don't say that often.

Live m usic was excellent. Great view of the Chatahoochi River River from deck and good country music. Security at the door Food was OK in a fast food sort of way, but wouldn't write home about. Helen is a quaint Bavarian tourist town which resembles Solvang, CA. We had wings and chicken fingers. See pictures. Order your own food. Pick up your own so here is a tip. Tip yourself, right after you clean up your area and tip musicians.

Best part of this place is the view of the river and the live music. You stand in line to order your food, then pick it up and clean it up...and they still ask for a tip....I don't think so. Food is all fried, but tasty. The guy who announces your order number is ready is a hoot...order 71 that's a seven followed by a one

Overpriced and a total letdown. 1 measured shot of 1800 was $15. Holy cow! The Bartender was so nice but just a total disappointment otherwise. $58 for a beer on tap in a souvenir cup a shot and a 8 oz Margarita. Be careful sitting or you will get a splinter from the barstools.

You're going to pay for the view. They have a counter to order your food and pay and then they call your number and you pick up your food. There is a huge deck with umbrellas for shade and you can enjoy the weather and look out over the water. It's a great spot and would be even better if the food were good and reasonably priced. My husband had a cheeseburger which was clearly a frozen patty on a bun, toppings are at a bar for self service. I had the Ruben which was decent and added fries instead of chips for $4!!! I should have stuck with the chips because the fries were a let down. Our meals with 1 beer each came to $49. Needless to say I wouldn't go back unless it was to just sit on the deck and enjoy the view.

    "Old Fashioned"

This is an old fashioned apparently. :| "There's nothing we can do about that. That's an old fashioned. We make them all the time, this is how they are" I should've said no when she was separating the orange peel with her bare fingers and using her nails to separate the orange from the peel after touching her nose, register and everything else. Apparently the "orange without the peel goes in the old fashion to make it chunky" Disgusting. Stay away.

If you've spent more than five minutes eating your way through Alpine Helen GA, you already know…read morethe truth: finding genuinely good, made-from-scratch food here feels like a competitive sport--and most places are losing. Campfire Restaurant isn't just winning... it's playing a completely different game. I've been here since day one, watching owner Matt and his crew build this place with intention and pride. This isn't a "let's open and see what happens" spot--this is passion, detail, and respect for doing food right. In a town where "authentic" can mean reheated and overpriced, Campfire stands out like a perfectly cooked ribeye in a sea of mediocrity. The vibe hits immediately--rustic North Georgia lodge meets modern comfort. Wood, textures, that Smoky Mountains ambiance. Indoor dining is cozy, outdoor dining under Edison lights is where the magic lives. It's date night, family dinner, or "I survived today" energy all in one place. Locals recommend this place for a reason--and locals don't hype things lightly. Now the food. Everything is made in-house--real Southern food, comfort food, and American food with flavor and consistency. The Southwest Gunpowder Nachos? Legendary. Handmade chips, massive portions--get steak and extra corn. It's two meals unless you're me. Best value in Helen. The smash burger is easily one of the best in Georgia--juicy, consistent, unforgettable. Fried chicken is solid, but locals will tell you: get the chicken tenders. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and always recommended. Mac and cheese? Creamy, different--but I'll admit I'm biased because mine is elite. Still worth trying. And the s'mores dessert--if you don't have room, make room. It's rich, indulgent, and perfect for date night or birthdays. Service has that "Cheers" feel--friendly, consistent, no judgment if you roll in looking like life just happened. They remember you, take care of you, and that matters. Parking is easy in the Alpine village shopping center. Seating is quick if you're smart about timing (don't be silly). Live music adds to the vibe without overpowering it. Prices are reasonable (rare for Helen), portions are big, and quality stays consistent--that trifecta is everything. This is a bucket list, must visit, locals favorite, top rated spot in Alpine Helen GA. Whether it's Oktoberfest, a Smoky Mountains trip, or just a Friday night--this is where you go when you want food that actually delivers. And honestly? In this town... that says everything. #facts REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Must visit, bucket list restaurant in Alpine Helen GA 2. Locals favorite, top rated, best in North Georgia 3. From-scratch Southern food, comfort food, American food 4. Southwest Gunpowder Nachos (huge portions, local favorite) 5. Smash burger (one of the best in Georgia) 6. Ribeye steak (tender, juicy, highly recommended) 7. Fried chicken + local-favorite chicken tenders 8. S'mores dessert (perfect for date night & celebrations) 9. Indoor dining + outdoor dining patio ambiance 10. Live music, Smoky Mountains vibe 11. Friendly service, "Cheers"-style experience 12. Reasonable pricing + generous portions 13. Quick seating (if you time it right) 14. Great for families, groups, date nights 15. Ample parking in Alpine village shopping center

When a server set the steak on the table shortly after, I asked for 57 sauce, as I'm a sauce guy. When the server brought it back he told me to try a bite without sauce as their steaks are well seasoned. Boy was he right! The gunpowder seasoning along with the clarified butter really enhanced the flavor of the ribeye. My wife gave me a bite of her chicken Alfredo and it was well seasoned too. Nice balance of garlic. The sides are the reason for a the 4 star review, though if judged by the steak alone, it would easily be a 5 star review. I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, and they were topped with cheese and bacon. The potatoes needed seasoning. Mostly salt, pepper, and butter. The same could be said of the Mac and cheese. Our server was amazing. He had a great personality, and made sure we had a good meal The restaurant was clean.

The food was okay for me, but if you love greasy smash burgers, you'd probably rate it much higher. One thing I didn't love was the pricing. Prices have increased, and there is an upcharge for paying by credit card that I didn't see mentioned on their website. There are also no fountain drinks--everything is bottled and purchased separately. Service was great. The person cooking and serving us was very friendly and genuinely eager to tell us about the food, the location, and their sister restaurant (Hoochee's River basket). We started with the Pretzel Bites which were essentially deep fried pieces of pretzels. Not sure who thought to say this was Bavarian style. I'm not entirely sure they were deep fried but they had a very thick batter and tasted similar to say an onion ring batter. Very crunchy even through. We're pescatarian anyway so food is always limited in tourist towns (but far easier to find options in Germany than in Helen). I decided to go with the veggie burger which was a black bean patty from Morningstar. Honestly I like them and we asked before anyway so this was fine with me. The bread was good and the fries were fresh and hot. My wife got the fish platter I think it was called and it was pretty bad. She could eat the fries but not all of the fish. It was heavily deep fried and you could flick it putting a dent in the batter. My son got the fried shrimp which he ate a couple of but then said he was done. My wife tried his and said it was better than the fish platter so had a couple. We went with two friends who shared chicken tenders. They weren't impressed, to me they looked like chicken schnitzel it was so thin. I'm not going to judge quality on chicken though so it may be good? Location and service was the main thing going for it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, we sat outside and we could watch people float by tubing so people watching was good. The atmosphere at this time during lunch was pretty quiet and chill. I could see it getting packed in the evenings especially for those going out for drinks. Overall I can't say I was surprised by the quality but I hoped I would be wrong. For the cost and quality of food we won't go back.
