I have to begin by saying I did not actually have work done here, but keep reading. Last year, my…read moreDodge cargo van failed inspection due to a rusted frame. My local garage recommended Stauffer's, so I drove it over after calling. The guys were just about ready to go home for the day (I just caught them), but they took the time to crawl under the van and have a look. He noted the problem, said I'd need at least a partial frame replacement (cut a section off a donor frame and weld it in place), quoted me a price I think was pretty reasonable, considering, and we scheduled an appointment for about 1.5-2 months later, the earliest he could fit me in, plus he needed to source a frame. Fast forward, it's time to drop off the van. He finally gets it up on the lift and can now see that the rust has gotten to the mounts and other areas, and it's unfortunately not something that can be repaired. At least, not affordably considering the age/value of the van. So, I'm disappointed, but understand, and I go to pick up my vehicle. When I asked him what I owe, he said $0. I argued he had to put time in to looking at it, sourcing the part, etc. but he refused to take anything. You don't often find people with that kind of integrity, and we're blessed with a couple of them in my area -- my regular mechanic and this guy. I'm of course hoping I won't need the services of an auto-body shop, but if I do, this will be my first call.

I looked around at other vehicles and I decided what I needed was pin stripes. I asked around for suggestions on who should do the work and one name kept coming up: Tim's Body Shop. I sent an email to Tim's for further information and the email was promptly answered by Mike. He suggested that I bring the car by the shop for a price quote and suggestions on what they could offer. I drove to the shop, which is located not far from Lititz and from Lancaster where I live. I was impressed by the shop which appeared to be brand new. Mike met with me and we decided on twin metallic gold pin stripes to accent my red car. Mike made an appointment for me to bring my car to have the stripes applied. On the appointed day, I arrived at the shop and they took my car into the bay to be worked on. I had a seat in their comfortable customer waiting area and took advantage of the ample seating and table space to get some of my personal work done. Shortly after, the technician came to ask me if I wanted to see what my car looked like so far. We went into the service area and I was amazed how nice my car looked. I was even more amazed how clean and spotless the work area was. They were busy working on several other cars which appeared to be in various stages of repair and modification. Truly impressive!! Not long after, the technician advised me that my car was finished. I paid my bill to the very attentive receptionist (I believe that her name is Rachel), thanked them all and I was on my way. I've gotten a lot of compliments on how great my car looks. I owe it all to Tim's Body Shop. While I am not one to give unsolicited advice to people that I don't know, I will say this: if you need any kind of repair work or cosmetic work on your vehicle, don't do anything without first checking with Tim's Body Shop. You won't be sorry. Rick Banzhoff Lancaster PA

Initial discussion went well. Clear concise on what needs to be done. Mike very helpful.read more

Lichty Brothers - After repairs were made

They do quick but accurate alignments at an honest price. Their many years of experience makes for quality work. Ron is a master and a perfectionist when it comes to doing alignments for classic cars. I also had both the driver and passenger power windows stop operating on one of my classic cars and wasn't sure who would fix them. Rich, an employee of Lichty Brothers worked painstakingly on one window for five hours applying his knowledge and experience. And although he was unfamiliar with disassembling the door panels and reassembling them, his expertise and carefulness led to a successful repair. When you walk into Lichty, you'll find Kevin and Gretchen are courteous, helpful and very knowledgeable in answering all of your questions on repair estimates and scheduling. I'll be bringing one of my cars to get a paint estimate in the near future and I have no doubt that Lichty will live up to my expectations in the auto body/paint repair area as well. Johnny Pappas
