I would not recommend going here. The instructor wasn't really watching or instructing at all...they checked in only at the start and end of the service despite it taking 6 hours when my hair typically takes 3-4. I don't blame the hair stylist as they're obviously learning, but I was surprised nobody checked with them about needing a break or help, which I think was actually needed because when I asked for 1.5 inches off, 4 inches were taken off to try to fix the uneven layers. I just felt really bad after and think they should offer more support or guidance, cause I walked out with half my hair gone lol read more

Chrissy and Karen both in the financial aid and student services department are a complete joke. They both commit fraud on a daily basis when it comes to your financial aid and what rules you are and are not allowed to follow just to fit the criteria they need in order to marginalize a profit. They do not care what laws they break when it comes to your financial aid and once you call them out on it they try to cover their tracks after they have already failed at doing their job correctly. They will also hire services to negatively affect your credit if you call them out on the aid they receive from the federal government instead of calling you back. AVOID GOING TO THIS SCAM OF A SCHOOL AT ALL COST. I called last week to make an appointment. The guy on the phone asked what services I need and I said color and a cut. He took my information and then he said he had me down for a cut and did I need any other services. I said yes, I needed a color. He asked me if I would also need my hair lightened and I said yes again. He changed my appointment time for two hours earlier so they would have time to do all that. He asked what color I wanted so they could make sure they had the color and I said pigment red. I was on time for my appointment and I was asked to take a seat and they would be right with me. It took 15 minutes for them to get me for my services. Ok, it felt like a long time, but it wasn't overly long. They took me back to the chair and the student asked me what I wanted done. She looked a little bewildered when I said I wanted color and ran to get an instructor. The instructor came up and he immediately started petting my hair and telling the student because I had blue eyes my natural color would lift easily. My color has never lifted easily. He kept putting a piece of hair on the wrong side, against the part which was incredibly uncomfortable. He said it belonged over there. I kept telling him it didn't, but he wasn't listening. The instructor was telling the student they could do a dark auburn on the bottom of my hair and low light up to my natural color at the roots. I again said that I had asked for pigment red, a single color over my whole head. They left me sitting in the chair again while the instructor went back to get the product but he came back empty-handed and told me they didn't have the color I wanted. He then told me I was only scheduled for a cut and they couldn't accommodate a color as well. He asked me if he could reschedule for the next week. The reason I set the appointment for today and called a week in advance to get it is because I need my hair done before the weekend so rescheduling for next week was not going to work. He stated again they didn't have the color so I thanked him, grabbed my bag and left. That's the last time I'm going to try to go to the Paul Mitchell beauty college to get my hair done because they do not listen and they do not take care of customers appropriately. read more

I had a great experience at Paul Mitchell! Went in as a walk in for a haircut and was helped in less than 10 minutes. I got the honors of sitting down with Olivia as my stylist and she did amazing. She really took her time to see how I wanted my hair cut/styled and it came out beautiful. She was also so sweet and kept the most fun atmosphere (important for me because I was doing a big chomp to my hair and was nervous lol). I was very disappointed with the amount of damage they caused my hair. I hated the way they colored my hair. I asked for highlights throughout all my hair. The student that was working on my hair knew what I wanted but the instructor gave her horrible direction. The instructor told the student to bleach the top portion of my hair verses to highlight. It cost me a total of $130 and a damaged shirt from the peroxide they used. Do to the back and forth I stayed there 5 hours, ended up with no time for haircut and the worse color ever... Honestly I want to cry leaving this salon. I came in with a light brown/redish hair color wanting to get my roots retouched and refresh the red. I stated multiple times that I didn't want my hair to be darker as I had just recently bleached it and I left with almost black hair. Their solution was that they could go in and bleach it again but I'd have to pay for the bowls of color on top of the original cost. The instructors seem to have no idea what they're doing and staff was really unhelpful/ rude afterwards and tired to blamed me even though I was so clear on what I wanted in the consultation. This is not the first time they've butchered my hair and I'd strongly recommend against coming here if you value your hair. read more

I actually went to the salon and the door says :Walk-Ins Welcome ". I was excited. However, the girl at the front desk was a bit rude and told me that I really needed an appointment. She did not offer to assist me with this either. I was told walk-ins can only be done if they can accommodate for it. I was told I just needed to call and make an appointment and come back another time. She was no help! I went to Paul Mitchell today to get some highlights. My appt was at 930. I got there at 915, and by 925 Janie came to get me. By 940, I had discussed with her exactly what I wanted and her instructor came over to go over pricing with me. Janie took her time with me and assured me my hair would be what I asked for and even if i wasnt happy, it would be fixed. I liked that several instructors checked on her regularly (not that they needed to) and checked my hair to make sure everything was ok. My hair came out perfect! I am extremely happy with the results and now can walk into my high school reunion with confidence and not worry about any grey hairs showing!! I will *definitely* be back to see Janie. Where to begin.... Two appointments for two people. The two hairstylist are both no shows. What are the chances. We wait 30 minutes until two available hairstylist are ready. 5 hours later we are still here. No exaggeration. I have been coming here for years. I followed them from Pville location. I had the opportunity to get my hair done by Eleanor. Very sweet girl from Louisiana. I got a protein treatment for my hair and then she cut and styled my hair. The only reason I didn't give her five stars Was that I had really looked forward to a nice scalp massage with the hair wash where they take the time to really work your scalp to relax you and it was good but not great. I had to wait while they refilled the shampoo but not a big deal. Her supervisor seems very nice and they went over The details of my haircut before Eleanor got started. We had a great first experience at the Paul Mitchell school today. My husband had Renee #175 and I had Madison #112. The ambience awesome and we were promptly taken to a station upon arrival. We both just got haircuts. Yes, it does take longer than a normal salon, but for $15, I was impressed by them using high quality, delicious smelling products and the attention to detail. Instructor came over frequently to see how things were going. Both our cuts turned out great and our hair was styled as well! The only critical feedback is that I'd ask the stylist to not stand next to the guest during check-out. When the cashier asked about leaving a tip, it was a little weird to have the stylist right there, it makes you feel a bit pressured/uncomfortable. I was scheduled to get a haircut today and everything went smoothly until the halfway point. My student was very sweet, I have nothing negative to say about her. However, two things I'm pretty disappointed about during my service. 1. The instructor is supposed to be there for a majority of your service but, mine wasn't. I got a nervous feeling about halfway through because the instructor, Jackie, was nowhere to be found countless times. There were about four or five times my stylist needed help and Jackie was nowhere to be found. She kept apologizing for making me wait and I told her it was fine because I'd rather her ask and learn to do it correctly then just assume. Jackie was VERY inattentive, drug herself around walking very slowly taking her time helping others and not really paying attention to us. David helped us multiple times, so I appreciate him! I could tell the poor girl was really nervous and her instructor wasn't there to help her as much as she she have. That's wrong. Point blank. 2. My appointment was at 4:30 pm and I literally walked out of the doors at 8:30 pm. It should NOT take 4 hours for a cut and style! I understand they're students but it definitely should not take that long for a simple service. I believe it took longer than needed because we didn't have the instructor there to truly help her. All I asked for was an inch off the length, long layers and a face frame. My layers came out all sorts of different lengths and very choppy (which I made a point in the beginning of my service that I wanted them to avoid the outcome looking choppy). My face frame is uneven, as well as the length. I still tipped my student because she was very patient and sweet. However, I'm super disappointed in management and their attentiveness. read more

It's not even that busy on a Wednesday afternoon. It's now been more than 2.5 hours, and STILL, my daughter isn't ready. This is getting ridiculous! Went in during my lunch to make my appointment. Explained that I wanted my roots done and a cut. I asked how long it might take, and I was told about 2 to 2 1/2 hours and also asked about pricing. Everything looked great. I arrived for my appointment, had my consultation which I expected to take a little longer than a normal appointment being that it was a school. After the consultation, I decided not only to touch up my roots, but also to lighten my ends and get a haircut as planned. Again, I understand this is a school and there will be some trial and error. Apparently there was some issue with getting the color correct on my roots. All I needed was for the brown color to cover up the few gray strands peeking through on my roots. After several trips back-and-forth to the color bar, and the instructor advising the poor student, they decided to rinse blow dry to see what it looked like dry. From there they were going to see if they needed to add any other product to make sure that the color was correct. According to the student,as she was spraying a product on the ends where we were lightening for the ombre look my ends were processing a little bit too fast and she needed to slow it down a bit. Bottom line we are now at 10:30 PM from a 5:45 PM start time for my appointment. My ends are bright blonde, the middle of my hair is brown and my roots has a 1 inch orange section. I was visibly shaken, and almost in tears at the checkout counter, so I asked that I speak to the instructor. I was told now that we are approaching 11 Pm that I would need to come back on another day within two weeks as well as pay for another appointment for a color correction because my roots were not taking the color. Somehow this is my fault. For some reason I have to pay for their error. BUT....they would give me a discount! The stylist was nowhere to be found- the instructor walked away -AND...... I was charged full price. I walked out in tears- and yes, they knew it. They have not contacted me, there has been no follow up, no effort has been made to reach out to correct the mistake or make sure there is anything that can be done to fix the color on my hair. As the daughter of a retired cosmetology instructor I know that a huge portion of a cosmetology education is learning how to correct your mistakes and take care of the customer. Unfortunately this school at this particular location has failed I am sorely disappointed. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I came here but a friend had a good experience and recommended it. What a mistake. I CRIED FOR HOURS OVER WHAT THEY DID TO MY HAIR. I went in having never colored/bleached my hair before and asked questions and assured my hair would still be the same as it was, only a different color. LIE. Apparently, the treatment strips ALL body and volume away. My hair is limp and lifeless. Not even products are able to help me get any semblance of fullness. No one ever told me this was a risk! I would never have done this if I had known! The staff runs right over you. Once you say something, they begin going off on their own. Talking about what THEY think would look good. What THEY think will work. They don't fucking LISTEN. First, they almost did the complete wrong style. I caught on and corrected them. I wanted the tips of my hair done but I couldn't stop them before they did almost my ENTIRE HEAD. And I didn't know because I couldn't see. By the time I realized, it was too late. They like to speak in their technical terms to you and you have to explain repeatedly that you are not a damn stylist so wtf do they mean. Their explanations are usually shit. I was NEVER informed of the risks, I was completely ignored, left with a style no where NEAR what I wanted, have horribly damaged hair and all for color that was almost completely gone by the 3rd wash. After talking to multiple TRUSTWORTHY SOURCES (NONE of whom are affiliated with that school), I have been informed that there is basically nothing I can do to undo the damage cause by that hell hole. I will quite literally have to shave my head (because remember, I asked for the tips and they did my WHOLE FUCKING HEAD) and regrow all my hair. It will take me YEARS to undo this damage. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN ANOTHER "PRACTICE HEAD" TO THEM, THEY WILL IGNORE YOU AND RUIN YOUR HAIR. read more
