A month or so later when I hadn't received the reimbursement I called them and they said to just wait. After another 3 months I called again and was told they would check. Then I got a message that the insurance had paid them and it was "posted to my account". If I wanted the money I could "call Michelle". SERIOUSLY??? They were not even going to notify me they had my $400, much less send me a check. Thankfully $400 is enough to me that I didn't forget about it. The cleaning was fine and the dentist seemed fine although everything was an upsell. I found another dentist. Hope I can ultimately get my money back.

Well, I got the fillings anyways just to be safe (over $600 after insurance) Six months later, on my next visit, they had another dentist look at my teeth, and this time she said I needed 6 more fillings!! Again I got a second opinion, and once again, they said I have no cavities! I should have noticed the red flags when they tried to sell me everything right away, from wisdom tooth removal (mine are completely perfect from enamel to bone) to special toothpastes to mouth guards (I told them repeatedly I have one already). However, Dr. Ferguson is so skilled and kind, that the experience was fine for me without the nitrous oxide. He knew I was anxious, and told me every step of the way what he was doing and about how far along we were. I had absolutely no pain either time. Both times the process was completed and new crown installed within about 2 hours. He also uses a special camera to create the new crown, so no goopy molds inside your mouth at all. For me, the dentist had become a place of panic. I had bad experiences with dentists who were dismissive of my concerns and impatient with my anxiety. Over the past 20 years, as a patient of Dr. Miely, all of that changed. I actually look forward to going to the dentist, because I know that Dr. Miely and his staff are invested in my comfort and my health. I have never, ever left the office without feeling like I had just spent time with friends When I made the decision to (again) get braces, Dr. Miely celebrated every step of the process with me. After one of my two jaw surgeries, he called me personally to make sure I was doing well with recovery and, as has become common, to tell me, "If you need anything, let me know." In a world where doctors seem to be chasing schedules--or have to look at charts to remind themselves why their patients are there--it is a gift to be known and valued by someone who champions my well-being. At the end of my orthodontic procedure, Dr. Miely and I discussed veneers. After seeing the first 'mock-up' of the teeth, he invited me to offer feedback, which he used to revise the plan. It was clear that the process wasn't 'routine' but that he validated my voice (as I'm sure he does with others) in the process. After the preparation for the veneers, I took a photo of the temps which I shared with my cousin (a retired dental hygienist). Her response: "That guy is a genius. If that's what the temps look like, he is an artist." The final look (see the photo, as well as the 'before' photo) reflects my finally having the teeth I've always wished to have.
