It's located in the Food District lower level of Square One mall. I've had these, Patties Express shops bookmarked for a few years now and I finally got to try it. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. I got 1 beef patty, non spicy. At only $2.80 after tax, it was a steal. But after I took my first bite my immediate reaction was, "Where's the meat?" It was mostly gravy with minuscule pieces of ground beef. Needless to say, I've unbookmarked all of their locations and won't be trying again. There are many patty shops out there to try. I've been wanting to try these patties for a while, but there was always something else in the mall that we decided to get instead. One of the latest trips to the mall, I finally got a change to try a patty. Ordering and paying was very quick, and I had a hot patty within minutes. The patty was very hot, so hot I couldn't eat it right away. Once it cooled a bit, I noticed that the filling was very thin and more liquidly than I expected. It had a good spice level but seemed to be more filler than meat. The price of the patty was somewhat inexpensive at $2.39, but I did expect a better quality filling for that price. The pastry shell was pretty good, as it was flaky and tasty. Maybe they had an off day, but from this experience, beef patties that you get in frozen in a supermarket seemed better and less expensive than these patties. Given the other choices in the Food District and the mall itself, I would probably not order from here again. read more

I grew up eating beef patties when I grew up in NYC. However, when I moved to the Pacific NW, there was a dearth of beef patties. I was pleasantly surprised to find them in Toronto and the GTA. I was visiting Square One Mall, walked around the Food District, and found this Patties Express location. This was one of the few places in the morning with a line of customers. We all saw the freshly baked patties come straight out of the oven. I purchased a box of 6 patties, half non-spicy and half regular spicy. I wish I had ordered the extra spicy patties. My friend swears by the patties at Patties Express. I had never had any until last Friday. When I was saying goodbye to my friend at The Food District, I was in front of this Patties Express. I needed dinner, but had downed three cream-filled buns from Hattendo. I needed something light. I first looked at getting a box of patties. I then stopped myself. What if I don't like them? The menu had a combo, which features two patties and a pop. Yes, please! There was a short lineup. It was a sign that it's a decent patty place. When it was my turn, I got a polite and enthusiastic guy. He asked me what patties I wanted. Since it was my first visit, I got a mild patty and a spicy one. I could compare and contrast. He let me know that he had marked the package containing the spicy patty with an S. I appreciated it. I paid with my debit card. It was straightforward tapping. I was done. He said that I could simply grab my drink from the fridge. I was heading back to my car and the drink was super cold. I had a new fanny pack and placed my drink in there. I drank it when I got home and it was still cold! Seated in my car, I ate both patties. They smelled so good that I had to. I had the spicy one first. Maybe I have programmed myself to eating spicy food. There was a spicy heat to it, but it wasn't overly spicy. Delicious and so fresh! I could have asked for extra spicy, but it's always good to keep things safe when you're ordering from a place for the first time. The beef filling was flavourful and there was a decent amount. The pastry part was perfect for my liking. I then consumed the mild. Same verdict. Yummy! I didn't mind that it didn't have a spice kick to it. It allowed me to focus on the beef flavour with every bite. So good! I will need to get a box next time. A dozen is roughly $19. This store has chicken and vegetable varieties. The filling options are as follows: - Beef: non-spicy, spicy, and extra spicy - Chicken: spicy - Vegetable: spicy The child version of me wouldn't like that the chicken and vegetable come in spicy only. Fresh ! Fresh ! Fresh ! These patties are so fresh! I couldnt resist getting a dozen. I got a combination of very spicy beef and chicken. I got there at around 10:10 am and the patties were taken out of the oven literally 5mins before I got there. The aroma made me super hungry and I just had to have one in the car. I tried the beef pattie. It was crisp on the outside, hot and flavourful on the inside. You guys got a loyal Pattie's fan here ! read more

The quality here in both the food and the service has really gone downhill. Patties Express is not what it used to be. I've been advocating for their patties since the Elm St. location first opened. When they opened the Square One location, our families have been frequently buying dozens across our households, gradually, they've stopped supporting this location because of the slipping quality, while I still continued in light of the glory days. On my last visit this past weekend, the service received was horrible. The guy was rude and just rushed everyone, even with the lack of a line up. The patties this time were less than mediocre where the filling has become bland and contains way more filler than "meat". In my previous review, I made note of their hit or miss quality and increased amount of filler to meat ratio and it seems it has only gotten worse since. I know there's many of us who have continued to support this place out of convenience for a decent patty in Mississauga. At this point, I'd rather spend the money on much better ones when out of town and just grab extra to freeze. read more

I was killing some time by walking through Square One and I can't say I was especially hungry, but I happened to walk by Patties Express and who can say no to a fresh patty? Not this guy, that's for sure. I noticed they had an Extra Spicy option, so obviously that's what I went with. The pastry itself is probably a bit drier and firmer than I might've preferred, as though it had been overbaked by a few minutes. (I also want to note that no reasonable person anywhere would classify this as "extra spicy"; it's medium spicy at best.) Despite such misgivings, I did enjoy this patty. It's hard to resist a freshly-baked patty and the filling was really tasty and delicious (and plentiful). (The cheap price point doesn't hurt, either, of course.) I'm curious about some of Patties Express' other options, and perhaps someday they'll introduce an "extra spicy" option that lives up to its title. read more

I was super excited that they opened one in Mississauga. I missed the downtown Toronto location. My favourite is spicy Beef and this time around I tried the other flavours as well! Three delicious flavours and three spice levels! Beef, Vegetables, Chicken. I've been increasing my spice tolerance lately and I really love the spicy beef. It is my go to, and my favourite! I got a half dozen with two of each flavour! TASTE 4.5/5 Definitely my favourite is beef. The filling is flavourful and perfect amount of spice! I just wish there was more. MENU 5/5 Small menu, but perfect. They have something called coco bread. You would eat a patty in between two soft buns. Definitely want to try that next time! My sister asked me to buy for her from Patties Express. Actually I tried it and although the food was not particularly my taste, I can say that it is affordable and you can buy half a dozen of each patty and have it as a snack for lunch. The total cost was $10.99 for half a dozen order. The service was quick and efficient. There were no line ups when I visited. You can find this location inside the food district area at square one shopping centre. I definitely would recommend the non-spicy flavour as I don't handle spicy foods well but there is a spicy flavour if that is your taste . Would recommend to visit this place if you like patties. read more

Been to their other locations in downtown Toronto before but this one recently opened up in the food district at Square one. I've had their patties many times from other locations and they were all very fresh and tasty. I was particularly interested in their coco bread as I have never had one before. So I ordered a single beef patty and a beef patty with the coco bun. The patties are 5/5 as always. The flavours are on point, the filling is hot and the pastries is soft and flakey. Personally, I wasn't a fan of their coco bread. It was advertised as a sweet bread made with coconut milk. I guess I expected some type of coconut flavour to be present? Either way, I found a patty in between 2 pieces of bread to be just too dry and too much carbs. read more

This spot in the food district makes amazing patties. They are quite good for a quick snack and the location is perfect if you want to stop by before/after shopping in the mall. I have now tried the beef and curry chicken patties from Patties Express at their Square One location. On both occasions that I tried the patties, the crusts were quite hard due to over-baking. The beef filling (spicy) was tasty and had a real beef taste. The spicy curry chicken was mushy and indistinct. Overall, these patties are quite mediocre and not as good as Michidean, Allan's or Randy's patties. read more
