Unprofessional front desk personnel. I was charged out of pocket for some X-rays I clearly told them not to do if my insurance would not cover the cost. When they realized their error, the front desk person told me that she's "not a mind reader" and that it was my fault for not knowing when the last time I had X-rays done. I've never been disrespected by a front desk person like this before at any establishment in the past, especially while I kept my composure and professionalism. Since Patterson sold the business to whoever the new owner is, the service has deteriorated year after year and I've final had enough. Don't believe me, just take a look at the reviews from a few years ago when Patterson was still the owner and compare them to the more recent reviews and you'll see what I mean. I was with them for 10 years, but no more. The rest of my family has already left this dentistry over the last couple of years and I was the last one holding out. Needless to say, I wont be going back to this place, especially when there's other options in town. This is my third time here this year. Today I'm here for my 6 month cleaning. Dr. Patterson the dentist the practice is named after just retired this week. I saw him on the last 2 visits for a crown. Showed up 3:35, 25 minutes early to check in for my appointment at 4:00pm.. Two women showed up at 3:45 and 3:55.Another Male showed up at a couple minutes after 4, used the bathroom and staff took him right back to the room. The next ten minutes they called the other 2 women back.. I sat there till 4:25. I had to leave Because I had to work that night. I wasted an hour and a half of my time, plus gas. It was a horrible experience. They don't know how to keep appointment times. They obviously over booked patients and have no regard for their patients time. read more

Moved into the area and had a crown fall out and the tooth next to it cracked. After a ton of X-rays and full exam, I was told I needed two-three more crowns and the cracked tooth ignored. It should have been bonded but it wasn't. Now the abscess tooth is dead and infected. Since I changed jobs recently my coverage won't cover the $3500 cost of a root canal and crown. I have nothing, but positive things to say about Patterson Dental. It starts with the phone call to make an appt. The receptionists are helpful and try their best to accommodate your requests. Then the Hygienist are so through and detailed, the cleanings are the bomb. Lastly, the Dentist are so knowledgeable and offer up suggestions on what needs to be done, but never pushing for their way. I started going here first and now my husband is a Big Fan too. I used to really like this office. Now unfortunately, Dr Paterson has retired, and the office manager didn't keep her word to call me (I have been waiting 2 months and have called several times and was told she is working out of state-- what kind of excuse is that one? The problem lies with the fact that one of my veneers was knocked off during a regular cleaning 5 month ago. The office very nice to re-cement it 3 times , but it came off within a week each time). I asked them to split the cost of a new veneer. Now they refuse to allow me to make an appointment. That has delayed my treatment by 2 months and indefinitely because they won't let me make an appointment. In the mean time, now I am in pain as a result of no treatment. I have tooth sensitivity and pain when I talk (my mother was noticing how I am making faces when I talk now (to avoid pain). Now I am looking for a new dentist, and if I want a crown I have to convince Delta Dental that there is no other way to fix my problem (now tooth sensitivity and painful tongue). I can't get treatment for another month or 2 or 3 (a new in-network dentist office must file again for verification of coverage and can take a month and then guessing another month to appeal a Delta Dental of IL crown coverage which I supposed to be part of my plan. The office lied to me today too. I asked if any of their Dentists have experience creating new veneers. And was told by the receptionist Yes, after talking to one of the dentists, and that she would be happy to see me tomorrow for a consult. The receptionist was so nice and arranged my cleaning at the same time. Then 10 minutes later, I got a call saying that the office doesn't perform veneers since they don't last. My hopes were completely blown away. After waiting 2 months, I thought I was going to get what I need. Now for another 2 months of sharp pain from a broken veneer. read more

I really like Patterson Dental. They always are on time and the dental services great. However about 2 years ago they stopped giving senior discounts and also no dental insurance discounts. I asked a friend what he plays for a cleaning. He said $189. I said what was it a couple of years ago and said about $100. Patterson evidently feels there is a lot of money in Mokena so you can charge anything. So I left a couple of years ago and I was wondering if he is still raising his prices. My new dentist charges about 1/2 of what Patterson charged. I get a great cleaning, with some exceptions most dentist are the same. read more

Just giving them a review as I move to Florida. I can't thank Patterson for the work they did on me over the years while in Mokena. Honestly my mouth was not in great shape as past dental visits elsewhere left me leary (they could never control the pain well). But I needed help when I chipped a tooth and .. wow for the first time it was fine. They got me back on the right track and with multiple cleanings each year the gumlines healed back up. Even had to get a root canal done and wow it was painless. By the end I would even snooze in the chair if the doctor was a bit busy and I had to wait .. that's how relaxed they made me. read more

Awful billing resulting in a bill turned over to a collection agency within 2 weeks of my appt. I did not even get an opportunity to pay the bill since I never got one. He lost 4 patients! Haven't been to the dentist in a couple of years. So I am quite sure that I pissed off the dental tech with all the blasting that she had to do to get the plaque off my teeth. I had scheduled an appointment for Tuesday morning at 9 am, however Saturday morning I was in excruciating pain so I called the office to see if there was anything I could do to relieve the pain. It was 11:45 when I called and being a Saturday the office closes at 12:00. I was told to come in and see what could be done. Dr. Knowles took care of me by removing the bad tooth and gave me a prescription for antibiotics since I had a periodontal abscess all in 20 minutes. I cannot thank them enough for saving my weekend. No one likes going to the dentist, however, this place will definitely give you the best experience! I see Dr. Knowles for invisalign as well as routine dental work for myself and my 3 small children. They are very nice, have 2 locations, do a great job, and the office is very nice! Dr. Knowles is so very nice, and her assistants are wonderful also, highly highly recommend. Also, I should mention that I sent my mom there who has been going to the same dentist for about 20 years, she LOVED it here and was going on and on about how great her experience was. read more

I went in 6 months ago for my regular checkup.I mentioned that I had a tooth bothering me They said no problem and took x rays.The tech said "looks good I dont see any any problem with that tooth" Now 6 months later I had to have the tooth pulled because of (now a larger) crack was causing pain.Well if they listened to me the first time and used a simple dye detection test on the tooth it could have been saved So because of their failure/ineptness (not checking the cracked tooth) I had to forgo a painful extraction today and now need a $3000 implant! read more
