Several members of the group raved about the excellent services provided at mcgonigle dental associates. I was looking for a dental office closer to my home. Seeing that the office is 10 min from my home is a bonus! I read reviews literally for just about everything lol. The reviews on Google, Yelp and social media for this office is outstanding! I decided to give them a call and make an appointment. The lady on the phone was very kind and friendly. On the day of my appointment, I was blown away with how swanky this dental office is. The decor is beautiful, clean and the complimentary water, tea, fancy coffee they offer is thoughtful. Gina, was my hygienist and I had the pleasure of meeting Doctor Mcgonigle. Gina is warm, funny and is very personable! She made my visit a delight Doctor Mcgongile is so cool and his bedside manners is excellent. I was so impressed with my visit that I told my husband and family they should stop seeing their dentist and come to Mcgonigle dental associates My husband has a fear of needles and had an terrible experience at a previous dental office. I remember sharing this with Gina and Dr. Mcgonigle and they assured they would be gentle with my husband. Fast forward to one month ago, my husband made an appointment for a cleaning as well as for a root canal. He said, the doctor was super friendly-they even struck a conversation about cars. (My husband is a car enthusiast) most importantly, my husband was not afraid of the treatment/procedure. He looks forward to his dental visits and that's because of the outstanding service he received at mcgonigle dental associates. Fast forward to my 2nd appointment for my six month cleaning and fillings. Hygenist, Gina greeted me and remembered me. She even asked about my son (great memory) which was really sweet. Once my cleaning was finished, I was greeted by Lisa E who assisted the doctor (I think her name is ashley) with my fillings. Lisa is super sweet, warm and has a good sense of humor. I don't like needles and she helped eased my anxiousness by assuring me everything will be fine and if I needed to take a break then, let her know. She let me pick out a movie to watch while I had my fillings replaced. I chose father of the bride (love that movie) my dentist, Ashley is kind, personable and down to earth. I have two flexible spending cards, and I needed to split the payment on 2 cards for today's visit. Front desk personnel, Alyssa, was able to put the invoices on the receipt so that I can properly submit the invoice to my FSA providers. She too, was very helpful and friendly! I was able to schedule my cleaning with Laurie on the same day. She was great as well. I even received a tour of the office as a new patient. They both made me feel confident and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for better care. Would definitely recommend both of them. The only thing that surprised me was that I never received a follow up call from the office to make sure everything was OK. I have had services done like that in the past and always received a call either later on in the evening or the next day to see if any issues came up. But that was my only issue. An office that was told 3 times prior to her appointment that Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) was needed. It was not provided and they much later claimed they "never" provide Nitrous Oxide on first visit and she never requested it. The dentist and hygienist also tried to talk her out of her anxiety, which is about the dumbest part of this situation and shows the practice is more concerned staying on schedule than accommodating nervous patients. Her cleaning was rescheduled. My wife took a day off work. At 7:30 am the morning of the appointment, they canceled it. Apparently only one person is certified to use Nitrous Oxide. Sadly, I recommended this practice to my wife. I have left it as well, because they do not respect their patients needs. Another practice has managed to meet her needs.

4/10/26: Horrible experience! Went in for 3 extraction and a partial implant. I had already…read moreexplained prior to this visit I have great anxiety when it comes to dental work. Had 3 extractions done just to find out the partial had an extra tooth in the back so it was very uncomfortable. Like why would you add an extra tooth to the partial on one side but not the other if it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. After several attempts of Dr. Gregory Den trying to adjust the partial he still failed to make it comfortable. Then once I left the office and tried to send my niece back inside because I was so upset that I spent a lot of money to have this procedure done and I was not satisfied. I wanted to ensure my prescriptions had been ordered for pain/antibiotic and I believed I may have dropped my sunglasses while inside. They immediately locked the door behind me and refused to take my calls after multiple attempts. Not only that, he admitted they over charged me for the procedure. I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois State Dental Society and Division of Professional Regulation and possibly a lawsuit. You don't treat customers this way. His dental assistant working with him had a very nasty attitude as well. Even my niece noticed the same thing. She started putting numbing gel on my back teeth initially and I told her I was having my front teeth extracted. She goes oh, and then looked at my chart and started using the topical gel on the appropriate teeth. Didn't apologize or anything. The allowed blood to get on my brand new sweatshirt and only provided me with 1 gauze to leave with. my niece asked if we could have another one for the ride home. The dentist instructed her to give my niece 2 more instead. She shook her head and gave my niece only 1 and left the room.

Since Patterson sold the business to whoever the new owner is, the service has deteriorated year after year and I've final had enough. Don't believe me, just take a look at the reviews from a few years ago when Patterson was still the owner and compare them to the more recent reviews and you'll see what I mean. I was with them for 10 years, but no more. The rest of my family has already left this dentistry over the last couple of years and I was the last one holding out.
