I can only speak for my wife and daughters experience at this dental practice and what we where…read morebilled for and what my daughter and wife had done. Here's my experience and WARNING: My wife and daughter went here as new patients around August of 2014. We asked if they take our dental insurance and they said they did. My daughter was said to have four cavities (which is unbelievable since she'd never had something like that in the past and she brushes twice a day). My wife scheduled an appointment for the "fillings" and she was treated. Later, when I found out about the fillings, I immediately questioned how she had four fillings... my wife just said that's what the dentist said. My initial thought, was wow that's unbelievable but if that's what th dentist says... Fast forward a month later and I get a bill for the "fillings" for a total of $497, which apparently was not covered by my dental insurance! So I called the dental office for an explanation and reason why a cavity would not be covered. I've never received a bill from any former dental office like that. In fact, my dental insurance doesn't even cost me $497 a year to cover the three of us. Looking at the itemized bill, I notice that each "filling" is itemized as a 'Preventive Restoration", and talking to the woman in the office about the bill, she was explaining that it was a newer type of "filling" that removes less tooth and catches cavities earlier. Huh, never heard of that before! I called BS on that. Seems like a great way to up charge patients and make money for the practice, all while leaving the customer stuck with huge bills that aren't covered by their dental insurance. When I asked why the preventive restoration where done, she replied, what would you have us do, let her teeth rot until she needed a root canal? I replied, No of course not, but you should have waited until she actually had a real cavity and then filled it... that way it would have been a necessary procedure and also been covered under my insurance. Even if the practice was being fully honest about the cavities/preventative restorations, it was explained to my wife that our daughter had four CAVITIES. Last I checked, cavities do not get billed as preventive restoration. They're billed as cavities, which explains why my insurance would reject them and I would have to pay. That was not explained to my wife at ANY time, nor do we feel it would have been necessary to do on a fifteen year old's teeth. When I asked why it wasn't explained, Dee the billing woman, said that it was in deed a cavity and filling. Then my question was why wasn't it billed that way? She said it was a "newer" process, so they couldn't bill it as a normal cavity... WHAT? I went round and round about the bill with her and didn't get anywhere. When asked why they would do a process that isn't covered by insurance, her answer was that it's my responsibility to know what my insurance covers... and to some degree I can say that's true, but these were presented and told to my wife that these were cavities. THEY WERE NOT CAVITIES, otherwise be been billed as preventive restorations! This didn't seem to get through to her. My wife's experience at this practice was also tainted. She went in and through some questioning from the dentist or assistant, was determined that she grinds her teeth at night, so they said she needs a mouth guard. They gave her a temporary one and told her to come back in a month for the real one. I, having doubts at this time about this practices ethics, looked up How Not to Get Ripped Off by a Dentist. Guess what I found in the first Google search result: Be skeptical of a new dentist that prescribes a ton of treatment, among those are unnecessary Veneers, Fillings, and mouth guards! Hey two out of the three dental rip-offs in the first visit to this dentist office. I'm sure Wayne Gedutis is living large. How do these people sleep at night? Unfortunately my wife paid the preventative restoration bill before I found out about all this, thus we are out $497 for procedures, that we feel should have never been done. I get a sick feeling in my stomach when I think of practices like this. Your experience could be different, but this was ours. We definitely won't be back and are now a bit more educated on what to watch out for.

When they realized their error, the front desk person told me that she's "not a mind reader" and that it was my fault for not knowing when the last time I had X-rays done. I've never been disrespected by a front desk person like this before at any establishment in the past, especially while I kept my composure and professionalism. Since Patterson sold the business to whoever the new owner is, the service has deteriorated year after year and I've final had enough. Don't believe me, just take a look at the reviews from a few years ago when Patterson was still the owner and compare them to the more recent reviews and you'll see what I mean. I was with them for 10 years, but no more. The rest of my family has already left this dentistry over the last couple of years and I was the last one holding out. Needless to say, I wont be going back to this place, especially when there's other options in town. Don't waste your time with these folks unless you enjoy being taken advantage of and disrespected in front of other customers
