Due to the disrespectful treatment, I chose to go back to my regular periodontist. He charged $9,000 for the same procedure--a savings of 61%. The surgery was performed with minimal pain and excellent results. I also asked Orland Park Dental Specialists whether there was a discount for paying by check, and was told that a 5% discount is offered only for cash. That would amount to 230 one-hundred-dollar bills, which raises an obvious question as to why cash is preferred.

I did not get…read moremy son's dental surgery with this group because they did not go through the proper insurance channels. They had me open a line of credit to pay for the surgery. When my husband called the insurance company, the woman he spoke to said the office had not called or put in for a pre-authorization. According to the insurance company, the surgery should be almost completely covered. It seems to me that their business strategy is to wait until a few days before this major surgery to call the patient to discuss financing options. They leave the patient to assume the office is working in the patient's best interest and have contacted the insurance company for authorization. If you plan to use this office, contact your insurance company first.

This office was a disappointing experience. I had recently moved and, since my regular dentist is…read moreabout 25 miles away, I decided to try this place for a routine cleaning that I had scheduled over the phone. When I arrived, they took X-rays and the dentist came in, but instead of focusing on the cleaning I had booked, he spent most of the appointment trying to push orthodontic treatment. He made several comments about my "large teeth" and crowded mouth that felt unnecessary and condescending. It didn't feel like a consultation. it felt like a sales pitch. When I explained that I wasn't interested in orthodontics and just wanted the cleaning I had scheduled, I was told they couldn't do a regular cleaning and that I needed a deep cleaning due to gum disease. This was surprising, as I get cleanings 3-4 times a year and had my last one less than four months ago. Despite explaining this, he insisted a regular cleaning wasn't an option. I ended up leaving and driving to my previous dentist, where I received a routine cleaning and was told I do not have gum disease. Overall, the visit felt more focused on upselling than patient care, and I won't be returning.

Doc does great work - fillings, fixing cracked teeth, crowns - you name it. Located in a small, clean office in Orland Park they have a super nice staff.
