I'm very pleased how Dr. Bacos approaches his treatment and has the most caring and gentle approach; which is a critical aspect when your anxiety prone and have fears and trauma from previous providers of care. I believe he had been the most qualified and caring dentist that I have came across. I was with my adult dentist after my perio-dentist for a good time after a series poor experiences. I have been reviewing and assessing dentist prior to leaving my original dentist, before meeting Dr. Bacos and I'm glad to find a center to meet all my dental needs. Anything and everything tried to do failed spectacularly. I've spent eight years there being tortured and extorted for more money more money more money with zero satisfying results. If you want a dentist for popping in and out for a cleaning or suddenly have a cavity, it would work out better for YOU. If you have serious issues, don't end up like me and have all the teeth yanked out of your mouth for dentures that they charge you $180 to consistently improperly maintaining them. It was so bad, I spent a year not using the new dentures at all because I had spent so much money, I just spent the year without it in my mouth. So, don't let this happen to you. IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING BEYOND THE NORMAL CAVITIES, FILLINGS AND CROWNS - FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. Warning: Avoid This Dental Office at All Costs! I am writing to warn others about the horrific experience I had at performance Dental. After a botched root canal, I was left with a painful abscess for OVER A MONTH. The office showed a complete lack of urgency and concern for my well-being, telling me to wait until my insurance kicked in instead of offering to fix their mistake promptly. To make matters worse, I'm now questioning whether I even needed a root canal in the first place. The office's priorities seem to be focused on maximizing profits rather than providing quality care. I'm still trying to resolve this issue, but I wouldn't recommend this office to my worst enemy. The lack of empathy, expertise, and transparency is appalling. Today is teeth cleaning day. I'm at Performance Dental in Tinley Park inside the Brookside Marketplace Strip Mall off 191st Harlem. I've been coming here since April 2015 and I've loved it every step of the way! Dr Fatland and Dr Bacos are the only two dentist here and they are different in there own ways but both great! Jackie is the office manager and she's my personal favorite hygienist. I used to get more one on one time with her, but nowadays she's always so busy. However she is phenomenal! Today I had Hannah and she was really great!! I personally like it when they explain step by step what they are doing or going to do next. Hannah did just that! Thank you Hannah!! Hannah was very gentle and nice, she didn't talk much got right to business. Because I've been coming so long as well as my kids Ive experienced different hygienist and office staff. I've never had a real problem everyone is always so friendly. They greet you, answer your questions, send reminders and call. I had a billing issue and they worked with me. Coming to this dentist has been a very pleasant experience. They take many insurances and if you don't have insurance they have in house plans to help you. I wouldn't keep coming back and or bringing my four back if I didn't think the service here was awesome! It's always neat and clean. When I've had an emergency they have gotten me right in. I'm always nervous when going to a new dentist because of HORRIBLE experiences in the past. The whole experience was nothing short of amazing. The process to book the appointment, verify medical history and insurance info was such a breeze. Who wants to complete a ton of papers by hand? Not here!!! When I started going there the people is what kept me going so I'll give them two stars. They were all very nice. My last appointment I called to cancel about 7 hours before my appointment due to being extremely sick. I was told it's a $150 charge. I tried to push through. Couldn't do it so I took the charge. That's greedy especially during COVID. I'm surprised you'd rather have sick people in your office. I told the girl both times I called I was sick. I can see $50 but that's more than my copay. I ended up in the ER due to my illness so sorry getting my teeth cleaned wasn't on my priority list. I won't be going back and risking that charge again. read more

Went to this dentist for the first time for a cleaning because he was close and in my new insurance plan. I would never consider going back I was told I needed 12 fillings and 3 crowns by the hygienist before I even saw the dr or my X-rays. I was then told I have good insurance so they should cover most of it(What?!).I had no cavities with my previous dentist six months prior. When the dentist came in, he was brisk and did not introduce himself. When I asked about my cavities, the dentist told me I had "more cavities than fingers" and my mouth "needs a lot of work". He then left after looking in my mouth for 2 minutes. He appeared disgusted when touching me as if I had a communicable disease. When I refused to sign up for their pay in advance plan before they did anything or set up appointments, I was treated like I was poor and patronizingly told hey could set me up on a payment plan if money was a problem. They then reiterated that I should be grateful because I have good insurance. After going to reputable dentist out of my plan, my new dentist looked at the dental proposal and laughed. I had two small cavities and needed no crowns. read more

It's not everyday that you are told words and phrases like, "bone decay, bone grafting, permanent loss of a tooth and implant. - for 2 teeth. I was fully expecting the usual "root canal, crown, a few drill and fills," but not that. I began looking for a new dentist with checking my insurance 1st, calling the office to confirm, the usual things we do. I want to say that at every point forward that I share with you, the rest of the staff was highly professional and a few of them seemed confused as to why the office manager, Jackie, did what she did. Let's all remember that not everyone works in the dental field, most of us put off the dentist as long as we can, a goodly amount of us just grin and bear it and get it taken care of - well that's me. So now I've been given this prognosis, referral slips placed in my lap... everyone, I'm in shock still. How can one be given such a prognosis and not have questions? I was scrambling to get basic questions answered and one very important one was that I had 2 jaw bones with infection, yet they prescribed penicillin for that, thank you... but what about the pain? I cannot take NSAIDS, it interferes with my other meds and that's all the gal would say was Ibufrofen only. I was trying to find something that would not interfere with my daily meds and have relief. I did not know the office manager, Jackie, was behind me and in such an unsavory tone she says (and I must paraphrase)something like, "oh that's enough, you need to leave now or I'm calling the police." I don't think I need to explain my confusion, I asked her why she was treating me that way, she admitted that I was being nice but that she wanted me out of her office by threat of police and 6 times over 5 minutes she would only tell me to leave before the police came and then she throws in that I'm yelling. Anyone with hearing issues that is not 90 yrs old will tell you, your voice just raises when you cannot hear properly. When she said that, I immediately did the international sign for hearing issues/loss, I started to apologize for that when she cuts me off with. "Oh that's it! I've had enough of this, get out now or the police are coming and you will go to jail." I left to my car and cried the shock of it all off. Of course I called my insurance company and a few other calls to get the state complaint rolling. In my eyes, the office manager Jackie, was way out of line. If I had done something or acted a certain way, talk to me! I'm 54, I promise I can have an adult conversation and if you don't like something I said or did, I can handle the constructive criticism and talk like an adult. When I previously reviewed this place, I gave it 5 stars. The business was well run and obviously someone gave a lot of thought to every aspect of the business and it showed. I was most impressed. Fast forward to the last time I was in. I walked in and they told me there was a new form to complete. The form was basically saying if you miss your appointment, there is a $125 fee you are agreeing to pay. (Yes, in 5 years of going there, I forgot about my appointment once, called shortly after the time slot missed - within an hour- and they rescheduled me FOR THE SAME DAY.) They will donate a portion of this. This cracked me up. Somebody must have thought long and hard about how best to screw over their patients. To sum it up- "we're going to charge you $125, likely donate a tiny portion of this, collect a tax deduction at your expense and reap the good will of the community by collecting money from you and donating it in the dental office's name." I wanted to change my life and my smile was the first step. I set an appt w/Dr.Bacos because I had heard such high praise about him from a friend. I sat down w/him and we went over what I was looking to get done and the process it would take to get there. I am an avid reviewer so what I say is in all honesty. Every single person that I came in contact w/there was an absolute dream to work with. Normally you feel worried and nervous about dental work but I felt great. I've never felt so welcome and comfortable in my life. Dr.Bacos was as equally professional as he was pleasant. I felt comfortable joking around w/the team (that's what they are!!) and it felt like I made new friends rather than being just another client. In honesty I wasnt looking forward to the day of the extractions but TONS of praise to Jasmine who was right by my side the whole time and even the following day for the follow up visit. She kept me company and was truly a gift and I just can't say enough about what she meant to me. Once the process was over everyone wanted to see the finished product and they were genuinely happy and soooooo supportive of the outcome. I felt like I was walking on clouds and it's was all because of these wonderful people and what they do and how they treat people. Now tell me...who looks fwd to going to the dentist? The answer is THIS GUY!!! I just got another realign and my smile and my spirit are at the top of the charts!!! The attitude of the team is a direct reflection of the Dr's and how they do business. I could go on forever and naturally I'll say 5 just isn't enough for what this group of people have done for me. Jasmine you'd get 10 !!! All the work that we have had done here is falling apart. My daughter had a root canal and crown, the crown has fallen off and had to be replaced. Plus she has had pain since the root canal. I had a crown and the crown is slowly chipping away. My other daughter and son had fillings fall out a few months after they were done. We have since gone to another dental office. Ever since Dr. Fatland stopped working on patients himself, and you get a different doc every time, its gone downhill. I had a doctor who was unable to remove the temporary crown and was all concerned and had to have another doc come in to do the job. Even with the my daughters crown issues they would not offer to resolve the problem without extra cost. I would rather try another dentist at that point. read more

I was recommended by a family member to visit this dental office. My mother badly needed treatment for a bad tooth that was accompanied by a huge abscess. She was terrified to go in! After an ER visit, we talked her into coming to Performance Dental. All the employees here were wonderful from the moment we walked in the door. The dental asst, Samantha, made my mom feel so comfortable! She was sweet, calm, informative, and comforting. When it was determined that her tooth needed to be pulled, my mom was a nervous wreck. But the dentist was fantastic! He was easy going and reassuring. I recommend anyone who is nervous about the dentist to come here. They get a big 5 stars in my book. read more

I was a patient at this location, at first the service was remarkable. Dr Fatland was very informative, he performed surgery and I was very satisfied with my results. My daughter had to have surgery (caps) he explained the process and without my knowledge or consent he had his associate Dr. Khan perform the surgery, when my daughter came home and informed me that this Dr. Khan performed the procedure, I contact the office to speak with Dr. Fatland and never received a call back. Dr. Khan was rude and very unprofessional to me she went as far as to tell me that she didn't respect me. Again I ask for Dr. Fartland he still has not contacted me. The service that I received via my daughter was very poor customer service was absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this dentist office to anyone...I would give this a negative 10 stars read more

I came to Performance Dental Care after recently moving and they really blew me away. Every time I have gone, I have been brought to the back within ten minutes of arriving. The receptionists are all ready and willing to help you with any questions, and the dental hygienists are all very friendly. Dr. Fatland has a very gentle touch while working and makes you feel comfortable the whole time he is with you. On my first visit to performance dental care they talked me into a package deal for $340 it would pay for two exams which included cleaning and x-rays I paid the $340 and had my first cleaning When it came time for my next cleaning I was in the midst of moving which was quite an ordeal I had to hold off a few extra months for my cleaning. I finally was able to make my appointment and came in for my cleaning and was told that the package deal had expired that I would have to repay again. How in the world does something you paid for in full expire? This wasn't a coupon Nor was it any kind a deal this was services I paid for upfront in full to their advantage. I feel like they have an absolute SCAM going on. They never told me that my cleaning I paid for IN FULL would expire. HORRIBLE!!!! Thanks for CHEATING ME. ****UPDATE *******and reply to Dr. Kevin F. Thank you for replying. My feeling is I shouldn't have to come in now at this point and have explained to me what The $340 package deal entailed. Why wasn't it explain to me BEFORE I made the decision to pay ahead .. I was told It was for two cleanings two exams and two sets of x-rays ....this is what I was told the $340 was for. It had been a while since I went to a dentist- about 5 years to be exact. I was extremely nervous to go back, but knew I should. The dentist I went to growing up didn't accept my insurance, so I had to find somewhere new. After some research and reviews, I decided to try Performance Dental. The office is very clean and the receptionist was quick to greet me with a friendly hello. They called me back on time, and the hygienist made me feel very comfortable. The office uses high tech x-Ray equipment and each room has a TV. I'm not sure why I was so nervous, because the visit was fast, painless, and I walked out with no problems, and was feeling much better. I've now been a patient for about two years and have a pleasant experience every 6 months for my cleaning. read more

This may be the worst practitioner in the Chicagoland market. They have two goals: 1. Get you in to see a Dentist and 2. keep coming back for follow up fixes even if you run out of insurance protection. They are they Jiffy Lube of Dentists. Dr. Fatland has been my dentist for over a year now, and I'm very pleased with the experiences I've had at Performance Dental Care. I'm always assigned the same hygienist, Jackie, who is wonderful. She is thorough in her cleanings while still keeping me comfortable, and she's the most knowledgable hygienist I've ever had. Plus, she is so kind and always remembers me personally. Dr. Fatland is efficient and professional, and I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes after my cleaning for him to check my teeth. Performance Dental also has wonderful, clean facilities, from the waiting room to the examining rooms. They also have state of the art equipment, making full x ray's quick and efficient. Their reception staff is kind and accommodating, and I also really like their automated appointment reminder systems that are all via email and text. Overall, a great place! read more

I had my first appointment recently, and I was impressed with the decor of the office. Some dental offices I've been to in the past are very old and are stuck in the 80s. The dental hygienist was really nice and informative. Each station had a TV for patients to watch, and I've always enjoyed that at previous offices I've visited. At the end of my cleaning/exam, they told me I had a few cavities, which I was kind of surprised about. The hygienist showed me my cavities on camera, and I definitely appreciated the authenticity and honesty she had with me. The dentist, Dr. Fatland, didn't have the friendliest demeanor. The billing specialist was super friendly and professional! She explained how my insurance works in terms of dental work. I really liked her "bedside manner." :) I'm returning because this place is close to home/work, the staff was friendly (except for the dentist), and I like the overall ambiance of the office. read more

My husband and I have been going to Performance Dental for over two years now. The administrative staff is always pleasant, both on the phone and in person. We appreciate their use of text and email to confirm and even cancel appointments. There is usually minimal wait time in the office, although they have been a bit behind on rare occasion. Any cleanings or procedures that we have are always done gently, professionally and efficiently, both by Dr. Fatland and his staff. Be Aware of this dental office. The only patients they are interested in treating are pre-paid patients with good insurance. My son went here after years of fearing dental work. It seems they were more interested in getting the thousands of dollars needed for his extensive work paid up front before any services were even rendered.
