When a dentist tells a patient, my wife, who has expressed anxiety about dental cleaning should not say, "I need to dig around under your gums." An office that was told 3 times prior to her appointment that Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) was needed. It was not provided and they much later claimed they "never" provide Nitrous Oxide on first visit and she never requested it. The dentist and hygienist also tried to talk her out of her anxiety, which is about the dumbest part of this situation and shows the practice is more concerned staying on schedule than accommodating nervous patients. Her cleaning was rescheduled. My wife took a day off work. At 7:30 am the morning of the appointment, they canceled it. Apparently only one person is certified to use Nitrous Oxide. Sadly, I recommended this practice to my wife. I have left it as well, because they do not respect their patients needs. Another practice has managed to meet her needs. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I Would not recommend this practice to ANYONE! The owner of the practice was EXTREMELY RUDE! He came in chewing gum. Introduced himself and the owner/dentist. Examined my xrays after the hygienist told me my teeth were nice, then told me he wanted to pull my teeth. I asked if my roots were good and he said yes. I asked if there was an alternative to pulling my teeth. His response was "well I'm the dentist" "I suggest you find another dentist and don't come back" I was shocked! I responded with what do you mean. He repeated the statement "I suggest you find another dentist and don't come back", then walked out of the room. I have NEVER been treated like that before by ANY professional. If my teeth are good then why pull them? I went in for a general exam and cleaning. I never got the cleaning. Nothing Amazing about this place. I initially reached out to Amazing Smiles based on how they promoted the guarantee of an amazing experience. I explained how my son is a two time cancer survivor and has a lot of anxiety with any doctors or medical procedures. They reassured me that they would be mindful of that and completely understood. After the cleaning and returning for some fillings, my son had questions to clarify what Dr. Taimoor Rahman would be doing. The doctor seemed rushed and impatient, but explained what would be done, and said he would check with my son to make sure he was comfortable continuing. After the first filling, my son tried to explain that it did not feel flush or smooth and asked if he could address that. The doctor appeared annoyed, addressed the issue, and left without any other comments or explanations. When my son tried to express his concern at the front desk, the manager seemed concerned and wanted to make things right, but what happened was far from that. We were asked to go and talk with Dr. Jason R. Crescenzo, who they said was the owner, to figure out another appointment when he could finish the work. Instead, he basically said that we should find a different dentist without any justification, other than my son was uncomforable with the attitude from Dr. Taimoor Rahman, who's profile describes him as having "experience working with medically compromised patients gave him a deeper understanding of comprehensive care, especially for those with complex health needs." I did not see evidence of this to say the least. They seemed confident they didn't need our business, and I would highly recommend NOT using their services. read more

From the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive follow-up, every part of our experience showed their dedication to great customer service and that they truly cared. I've had nothing but good experiences at Amazing Smiles. I actually chose them at random because they was in my network. The customer service is top tier for me. Any questions or concerns I've had, they have been more then happy to answer them. The way they greet you calms the nerves some even before having to get a root canal. The dental staff is good as well. For the most, my visits are pain free. Once there was an issue but the dental staff was accommodating. I've used a couple people there but I must say that Dr. Sun was the best. I would give her 7 stars alone for her professionalism and work. read more

I can't begin to express how much I love the entire Amazing Smiles Family!!!! They genuinely care about all their patients. I first came in for an appointment January 2018, after reading all their wonderful reviews, I knew it was the place for me. I was having horrible pain in one of my teeth, so they scheduled me right away with Dr. Kenny. From our first encounter they made me feel very comfortable and eased my pain. Excellent bedside manner. The next following weeks we scheduled for a root canal, crown, two wisdom teeth needing extractions, and a couple of other simple things. Tawnya is my dental hygienist. I have seen this lovely lady many times now. Most people lie to their dentists and hygienist, because they're afraid of what they're going to say to you. You can tell them the truth and they'll work with you. Tawnya will be honest with you and will help you maintain healthy teeth. Plus, the great conversations help when you're getting your teeth cleaned by the master!!! After all the boring, but medically necessary stuff was performed, we moved on to the fun cosmetic stuff. I was never happy with my smile, and Dr. Kenny was on board to helping me achieve my dream smile. We needed to fix my bite so we ordered Invisalign for my teeth. The product is great, and so simple to use. In 8 months, we were able to achieve the bite I needed and finally I'm about to get the smile of my dreams. I'm about to get my veneers couldn't be more thrilled. My kids come here, my husband switched over from his dentist to start coming here(he too, is in love with this office). Our friends and several people we know also rave about Amazing Smiles in Tinley Park. I never thought I could love a Dental office as much as I love this place. Do not go to this dentist office. I chose Amazing Smiles because they are in the network. I Checked with my insurance to confirm this. After receiving my service, I paid my bill and was given a receipt for $0.00 balance due. Several months later, I received a statement with a balance of $150.00. They are billing for something that is not allowed by my insurance. The insurance states procedure is part of root canal. Obviously, this office agreed to accept a set price for procedures but do not want to honor the price. If this is the case, they should not be in the network as a provider. In that case, they can charge whatever they want. Needless to say, I will be finding another dentist for myself and daughter. Far as I'm concerned my bill is paid in full according to my insurance company. read more

I've known Dr. Thies since we were in first grade and can honestly say that he is not only the best dentist I've ever been to, but one of the finest people I've ever known, as well. His talents are superseded only by his character and he has the most pleasant demeanor you'll ever find in a DDS. I guarantee it! Now originally, I thought it might seem like my review would sound a bit biased because the Dr and I have known each other for so long. But if you think about it, I kind of believe it proves a point. I hope you'll agree with me when I say that no matter HOW friendly you are with somebody, you're not going to keep coming back for care if they're not the best at what they do (ESPECIALLY when it comes to the potential for pain in dental care). But I've been coming to him for so many years now, I've lost count. I can honestly say that he is gentle, quite thorough and extremely well educated (incredible cutting edge procedures I never even knew were possible). And you know what?? Painless Novocaine shots! REALLY!! Recently, Dr. Jason Crescenzo has taken residence at Amazing Smiles and my experiences with him have been nothing but terrific, as well. I followed Dr Crescenzo from his previous location along Harlem. He's a great dentist. I would have gotten Invisalign from him as well if I didn't move to Boston. But when I come home to visit, I still go to him. Amazing smiles was hard for me to find because it doesn't really look like a dentists office from the outside. It looks like a log cabin/ice cream place. I don't know, but the inside looks so nice and clean. Free wifi. Great for kids (toys in the waiting room). I'm not a huge fan of Tanya the dental hygienist. She's okay, but I liked the other last he had at the first location (can't remember her name but she was so sweet with short redish hair). read more

Good day, Well it was a great day when I picked up one of the first issues of The Tinley Junction and on the front page is a Dentist filing down the teeth on a blow fish. Yes it's true, so I'm in need of a new Dentist. Who better to try than a man with a compassionate heart that would try to save this fish with an overbite so bad he would have died because he could not chew his food.
