Unprofessional and overly defensive when faced with issues that were caused due to their work

After months of trying to diagnose my issue and throwing entirely to many parts under the hood I stopped by Patterson to see if they would be able to help me out. Dropped my truck off the following week to diagnose. They called me the end of the day with a quote and solution. Immediately got a good feeling from them. Went ahead with the repairs. I have a 2001 Toyota RAV4 that I have owned since I bought it new. It's my husband and my go to car to run around. I had always taken it to Toyota for service since I bought it. Well up until I got the price for the 120,000 mile service. Now it's over 144,000 miles and I knew it was time to find someone I trusted to service it. I had met the Patterson's when they were buying the property. They had always been amazing to work with. So I took it there from Windsor. Talk about thorough. Jamie did a head to toe inspection and broke the inspection down on what was truly needed and what could wait. They know the car is older but made sure it was going to be safe. Jen, went over everything with us and what we were charged for. We are so happy we took it there and feel like I have a new safe car. The manufacturer had installed incorrect units and they started rusting after a couple months. Turned out they were not a simple bolt on fix. Jayme had to drill new holes in the mounting plates and fit them to the trailer. He did a first class job with a difficult project. Trailer is better than new !! read more

I recently had to have repairs done on my 2 automobiles. My go to repair shop for over 30 years closed down a few years back ( owner retired ) and I was in need of a new shop to get car work done. A mechanic friend from the other shop recommended Patterson's and the experience cold not have been better. It is a family run business top to bottom. Their rates are competitive. They even charged me 50$ less for a new battery than the exact same one would have cost at O'Reilly's. They have even reffered us to other places, for example with tire repair, when they know that another shop can do something more efficiently or cheaper. Need a metal fabricator? I did. I laid down my motorcycle and as a result, snapped off the rearset mounts on the left side. I called an old friend who works in the racing realm to see if he knew of a good fabricator who could fabricate and weld aluminum. Turned out he did, and he referred me to Jayme. I dropped off my bike, went over what I needed done, with Jayme and drove away with full confidence that it would be done right. Jen texted me about 2 weeks later to let me know that it was done, and I asked if they could text me some photos of the work. She quickly sent 2 photos of the finished work, which looked stellar. When I picked it up, the work looked even better in person. Jayme needed to remove the swingarm so he didn't damage some components with the heat, and he told me he even looked up the torque specs online to make sure he reassembled it correctly. The welds are perfect and strong. He even painted it to match the frame, something I told him he didn't need to worry about. Top notch service! I realize that the work I needed done was kind of specialized, but if I lived within 25 miles of Patterson Automotive, I would have all my auto needs handled there. I have not gone there yet for the work, but I stopped by and there was a mechanic working in the Bay, and I spoke to him briefly about bringing the car and they come highly recommended, I expect good things or I will return here to adjust my review. But he was very friendly and his quote was reasonable and fair. I just recommended someone who is buying a used Subaru to bring it there to be inspected before his purchase and I look forward to hearing good things! Small towns don't have a lot of options and sometimes they aren't good but this place has a fabulous reputation. I will add more information upon completion. read more

I have a 2013 Subaru Outback and it was ready for an oil change. I hate hate hate Hansel Subaru with a passion so was for sure not going there. I've seen the couple getting the business ready to open for a few months so I thought I'd try them. I love the passion they put into the "feel" and "look" of the place. I never thought it was going to be an auto shop. I took it in last week and met Jen and her son. Pains me to write this update. We used Patterson for two of our cars an F-150 and Mini Clubman. Probably spent around 2-3k with them. At first they were taking the to time to really diagnose and fix issues. Jayme is a great guy.. Then they got busier and focused more on the profit. Case in point my F-150 was having engine issues ( timing etc ) I did a little research and came in with my ideas of what could be wrong. Jayme told me that my engine was shot and that it would be around $8k to replace. I was bummed obviously and thought about just selling the truck as is.. then I got turned on a good mechanic in SR who took the time to diagnose the issue, cost me $1200 and here I am 36k miles and 4 years later no problems. We took our Mini in around the same time, Jayme ran a diagnosis and told us that we'd be better off selling it because there were to many issues and it was going to fall apart.. We took the same Mini to Jerome (our new mechanic) and he diagnosed that the batterie terminal was defective and was causing ODM errors through the roof. $150 to fix it, 4 years 46k miles later it's still a great car! Jayme is a nice guy, but they either don't have the experience or more focused on the profit now.. sad. read more

I had a great experience with Patterson Automotive. I was on vacation in Bodega Bay with my parents. On a drive to grab coffee, the check engine light on my dads Tundra went on. Not wanting to risk the long drive home I started looking on Yelp for a automotive repair shop. Saw Patterson automotive. We drove by and saw an extremely clean and busy shop. After talking to Jen at the front desk who was extremely nice, we decided to have them check. We only had to wait a few minutes before Jayme had his diagnostic equipment hooked up. Turned out to be nothing major. He reset the light and had us on our way with no worries. They are two of the nicest people I have met. I recently had a great experience with Patterson Automotive. During our vacation our Jeep Grand Cherokee hit a pothole and sustained damage to the suspension and possibly the axle. In Sebastopol, I randomly drove into Pattersons with no appointment. Even though they were booked with work, Jamie (the owner) took the time to look at my car. He quickly diagnosed the problem and while we were at lunch he temporarily repaired the car sufficiently, such that we were able to complete our vacation and drive home to the South Bay.
