When I returned to pick up my car, I was surprised with a $315 bill with no prior notice or authorization. I had no choice but to pay to get my car back. I've had inspections done at other shops in the area at no charge. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and not in line with BC consumer protection standards. I contacted them directly to resolve the issue and over a week has passed with no response. I've since opened a dispute with my credit card provider. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience so others don't go through the same situation.

I do not recommend Spike Automotive Ltd. In August 2024, I…read morebrought my vehicle to Spike Auto for repairs. A dispute later arose regarding the repair charges. The owner, Tony, reported the matter to the RCMP (File No. R124-28917). I was advised by the RCMP that if I paid the repair costs in full, the complaint would be withdrawn. With RCMP assistance, the full repair amount was paid on December 12, 2024. There has been no outstanding balance since that date. Despite full payment, Spike Automotive Ltd. has refused to discharge the repairer's lien on my vehicle and has demanded an additional $500 fee that was never agreed to or disclosed. Because the lien remains active, I have been unable to sell my vehicle. I have tried to resolve this matter reasonably, but the lien has still not been released. I am now pursuing formal dispute resolution. Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about their business practices and transparency Customers should be very cautious and ensure all terms and fees are clearly documented in writing before authorizing any repairs.

I was on my way home to Alberta on a Monday with my motorhome when I lost all power to it, I…read morefigured it was the alternator. I had called many repair shops with no luck to even be looked at as everyone was booked solid for a week. I called Minit-Tune and they said they would look at it, woohoo! I had it towed to the shop and once I got there they said they would look at it sometime that day as they too where busy with appointments all day. I was just so happy they were willing to look at it. They looked at it and said my battery was gone so they replaced that and did find out it was the battery that shorted out causing my alternator to go. Of course this is Monday and I was sleeping in my motorhome and didn't want to pay for a hotel so the owner had said we could stay in it out back of the shop for the night. Bob the owner, had parked it pretty level and gave us a power cord for power for the night and we were set. Tuesday they got an alternator in and had that changed out but it wasn't the right one. My motorhome is a 1990 so parts are hard to find for it. Tuesday they got another alternator and put that in and again it didn't work. So we stayed another night behind the shop, and Wednesday they had actually build and alternator for it and it worked!! We were on our way by 4pm Wednesday with a working motorhome. I was so pleased with Bob and all the shop guys. They worked hard on the problem even when they were all so busy. I can't thank them enough for fixing my motorhome and letting us stay out back. I would go back to Minit-Tune in heartbeat for help. They went over and above to help me out. Highly recommend this shop to anyone needing service.
