I'd started coming regularly in 2014 with my JDM 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero with great service from Brian and Ray. The vehicle was kept in pristine condition. Unfortunately, they sold the company to a new owner, Amir, who is personable (1 star) yet showed degrading service since day one. A regularly scheduled service turned into a series of ongoing issues. Following my first visit to change fluids, I discovered smoke billowing from tailpipe scented of antifreeze. I returned to be told that a leak could not be found and that a bit of smoke was normal for a diesel. As well, stalling following a minute of cold starting on humid mornings indicated that a fuel pump seal was needing to be replaced and would be costly due to the need of opening up the engine. Amir adamantly suggested selling the vehicle instead of repairing it. Amir stated that he could acquire another vehicle for me for cheap. I declined knowing my Pajero's mechanical history. Time passed before I returned out of frustration of poor engine performance to be told it was a cracked head. I had the repair made yet Amir neglected to bring up the fuel pump seal. I could have saved quite a bit of money in labour with it piggybacked with the head replacement. Inexperience and poor communication in my opinion. Following the head replacement, more oil and antifreeze leaks were found and my vehicle came close to overheating once again. Amir couldn't troubleshoot the causes. In addition, several new subtle dents were found around my hood follow repairs. I was dejected and searched out another diesel mechanic through Yelp. Robin at Bond Mechanical discovered the issues as easy to repair. A leaking coolant hose was promptly found, sealant was not placed on the valve cover ends, as it should dutifully be, which caused the oil leak. Save your money, go to Bond Mechanical on Palm in Burnaby with your JDM diesel vehicle and ask for Robin. read more

Thorough inspection in an hr and a half, he did a walk through round the vehicle with me to explain certain things and really did all he could do to help. Some garages aren't even open on weekends and Amir looked after me and my vehicle with great professionalism. In mid June I dropped my mis-firing 90 Camaro off for repair on the recommendation of a friend,I spoke to the owner named "Brian" when I dropped it off and told him that I was on a budget and to keep me apprised of what repairs were necessary.Two weeks later Brian called me and told me its was the injectors and it would cost between $700-1000 at the most and I gave him permission to go ahead with those repairs.Four weeks after that I had called repeatedly and left messages I finally got a hold of someone who worked there and was told it was done,I arrived to see that my car was covered in bird waste and greasy hand prints inside and out,greasy boot marks on the carpeting and a half of tank less that when I dropped it off and the bill wasn't complete.After waiting a hour I crapped my pants when Brian showed me a bill for $2300.00 for unauthorized and illegal repairs to my car like plugging my EGR valve shut and replacing new parts that I told him I replaced but he didn't like the looks of,the best one was that he burned my starter out doing a compression test and charged me for it,after some negotiating he knocked off$400 and promised me that to car would drive beautifully unfortunately that wasn't the case the car shifted terribly and wouldn't go into overdrive I limped to a transmission shop where they showed me that the TV cable had be disconnected hadn't been readjusted and if I continued driving it this way it would have burned my transmission out.Unless you have deep pockets and a lot of time I'd strongly recommend you go elsewhere!!! read more

I've taken 3 of my cars to Crown Tech over the last few years. They always seemed to be honest and knowledgeable, and given fair prices for parts. I have been several times since the new owner, Amir, took over, and have experienced the same as before, though there seem to be some different faces in the shop. He recommended tires for my '03 Impreza that were a good combination of price and quality, and I have been very happy with them. I've had to pop in for a couple tire puncture repairs and inspection on a car I was looking at buying, and Amir has always fit me in. I will continue to use Crown Tech! read more
