    Dinner at Patron Saint
    Bets C.

We had a wonderful dinner, the food and drinks were outstanding. One of the best Manhattan's my husband has ever had. The ribeye was again one of the best steaks we've eaten. The only complaint we have was we sat at the round table there were 4 of us and it was hard for us to talk that night. However that will not stop us from returning. The service 10 out of 10! It was very cozy feel and we enjoyed our time there.

it was probably one of the coldest days in Rochester in a long time it had snowed and we are almost ready to cancel our reservations , but I'm glad we did not! This place was well worth the trouble to get there ! Friendly staff and attentive servers and great food! My daughter had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and she decided to invite us to try it with her . I bought gift cards in which their special was when you buy $250 to get $50 free One of the best meals I have had in Rochester! My daughter ordered the duck my other daughter her husband ordered the 20 oz. waygu A5 beef special and I ordered the Dover sole, my 5-year-old grandson ordered the filet mignon lol! He eats a lot! It did take a while to get our food, but once we got it, we were very happy with our selections, it was very enjoyable!

Patron Saint was an experience! The restaurant is stunning! Its designed well, and definitely photo worthy. The food stands up the to the pricing. The appetizers, the sides and the entrees, from onion rings to the steaks, every item on the menu was a win from everyone at our table. The cocktail menu is exciting, and the drinks are well balanced. Even the free bread (from amazing grains) is truly memorable. The brussels sprouts are a must try as is the soothsayer if youre having a cocktail. Make sure to order the crab cakes too! You really cant go wrong.

When you only get a select few days of re-exploring your hometown per year, ya gotta do it up big! Enter: Patron Saint. I've heard about this new(ish) spot from many a friend and family member, and was impressed by the level of service, style, menu, and cocktails. My girlfriend and I opted for girl dinner and drinks at the bar - this is the perfect place for such an evening. I went with a truly stellar, herbaceous cocktail with tequila to get things started. After some time, we ordered the chilled shrimp, wedge salad, and a side of fries. I really cannot recommend this course of action enough. While I look forward to going back for a proper seated dinner, I honestly would order every single one of these dishes again. I went on what the bar staff called "their quietest night since opening" and have to say, the vibes were still fun and vibrant. There's complimentary valet but I also found easy parking right out front. As someone who will always and forever go hard for ROC's food and beverage scene, it really makes me happy to see this kind of investment happening in the heart of downtown. As the center of the city continues to evolve and change, it's nice to have concrete examples to give the "downtown Rochester is dead" hater crowd. More of this! More of everything for Rochester! Thank you for the fab experience, PS.

Our server was great! She was very knowledgeable and personable. The ambiance was also really nice - very classy. There is a big fake tree in the middle of the restaurant that looks real (I had to ask our server if it was). The benches are all green velvet, which is very cool! Our food was good. My husband got a steak and said it was cooked perfectly. I got the risotto and it was good, but almost too rich. I would come here again for a special occasion.

I went to Patron Saint for my birthday in December and left disappointed. I waited to write this review, but two months later, I still feel the same. Pros: - Beautiful ambiance--the tree and dark green velvet seating were nice touches. - Food was great. - Wine was good but pricey (cheapest bottle was around $75). Cons: Despite a 7:30 PM reservation booked a month in advance; we weren't seated until 8:20pm. Our appetizers arrived at 9:14 PM (timestamped from my pictures), and we didn't get our entrées until three hours into dinner. Meanwhile, friends at the bar (who arrived after us) had drinks and apps and finished before we even got our starters. Service was chaotic, likely because they prioritized a large private party. Given that SCN Hospitality owns this place, they should know how to staff properly, especially during the holidays. Even with comped apps and desserts, our bill for four people was over $300. The food was great, but the service was a disaster. I wouldn't return unless it's a weekday in the off-season--hopefully, they'll have things figured out by then.

We attended the RCR cocktail pairing dinner at Patron Saints and it was phenomenal. Once again, decor is just beautiful. Service was amazing, food was delicious, and whiskey cocktail pairings were top tier! Wonderful time indeed!

I love the ambiance and design. The location is great, at the heart of downtown with the view of Parcel 5. Their service was great. Food was average but a little pricey. The portion could be a little more.

Great service- very attentive. Always cleaning up. Filling water. Ready to see if we need anything and asking how our food was. Don't go if you don't have the funds to spend. Very pricey but you know what you're getting into when you book a resy. Well worth the money.

First time at this relatively new restaurant. Parking is easy, use the old midtown garage and get a parking voucher when you leave. Everything works well, the hostess was very accommodating and the wait staff was excellent. Our server made some great suggestions and was very attentive. The pace of the meal was great and the courses were very well timed. Cocktails were very well made and very elegantly served in antique glasses? The shrimp cocktail is massive and cooked to perfection. Our steaks were perfect as I was hoping for. We split a chopped salad which was a good idea since it was so big. The side dish of roasted carrots was unbelievable. Not sure how they get carrots to be that good! All portions were generous. I wanted to take pics of everything but I didn't. We will come back, definitely. Well done Patron Saint staff!

We enjoyed a great meal at patron saint! Love the ambiance and the emerald green everywhere. Feels very trendy and modern. The waitstaff were helpful and very attentive, 5 stars to them! We enjoyed the escargot, a bone in ribeye, creamed spinach, carrots and potatoes gratin. Loved it all!

It was my birthday dinner with my husband. Making reservations was very easy and, when I had a particular seat preference I called and they were very accommodating. We were greeted immediately by the hostess station and seated quickly. Our first server was Alexis who had an incredible smile and made you feel welcomed. She got our drinks and then we met our main server, Brandon, who brought our menus and told of the days specials. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I started out with the French Onion Soup which was one of the best that I have had in a while. This soup was very nice. My husband is picky about fish so he had the Chilean Sea Bass. He said it was very delicious and wished there was a larger portion. I had the 6 oz Filet Mignon, medium well. It was tender and seasoned well. We shared the nights side special which was the Roasted Acorn Squash with cinnamon and a butter sauce. For dessert, I had the White Chocolate Budino, an Italian Mousse. It is a beautiful restaurant decorated with a dark green interior. You might think it's dark but surprisingly it is not. It is a thoughtfully well lit and accessorized restaurant. It has a large main dining room with a tree in the middle! I loved that. There's also a second dining area separated by a glass wine room. The bar area is large with bar seating or table seating along the wall of the bar. I loved the floral wall in the bar area as well. I had an amazing birthday because of this restaurant. Thank you!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.

You need to know the secret to getting past the gatekeeper as this is a speakeasy setting. (Figure it out on your own, that's half the fun)!!! Once inside there was a smooth jazz group performing. The music was a lovely backdrop to the setting and not overwhelmingly loud that I would be screaming to be heard. You can have a normal level conversation and still enjoy the music. There were comfortable cushioned chairs with pub sized tables for seating. We sat at the bar as all table s were taken. The energetic bartenders filled up in on all the idiosyncrasies of the place and happily answered all of our many questions. They told us that it was quiet for a Thursday night and that the weekends were much larger crowds which would not appeal to me as I'm not looking for a club scene atmosphere. I was happily comfortable. The drinks are creative and include interesting combinations of ingredients. We shared three appetizers, the sliders (my favorite), spring rolls (the side sauce was great), and the tacos with a tasty crema drizzled over them. The staff let us tour the dining room, basically a Ramon Santiago gallery. (The angel was my favorite). We went to see the ballroom as well as I had attended a wedding there 37 years ago while it was still the University Club!!! It was the same lovely room I remember and brought back wonderful memories. My friend was staying there while she is having some work done at her home so got to see the guest room she was in. As expected from a historic building large windows overlooking downtown Rochester, a gas fireplace, and soaker tub. Beautiful space. Some logistic issues with heat and fan not working so this was her second room that hopefully the new owner will address. We ran into their new executive chef and they have done a great job in hiring him. He told us about future ideas they have for putting their thumb print on things and they sound quite exciting.
