I love the chocolate in all of the different combinations of flavors they have here. Their online boutique is closed for the summer so I can't recall the names, but will try to describe my favorites: 1. chocolate covered nuts with orange flavor (this is the one chocolate covered item that is not rectangular in shape but looks like chocolate covered a small pile of halved matchsticks). Insanely addictive. 2. Flat 4 inch x 2 in chocolate with cocoa nibs (crunchy cocoa bits) - this comes in a square box or sometimes pre-packaged in a transparent bag. 3. half globes - I love the lime flavor one; each different color is a different flavor. 4. a square box full of their 1.5 inch squares of plain chocolate - I melt this in a mug of milk in the microwave and then use a hand-held frother to whip it up - BEST hot chocolate ever; I 've made hot chocolate with lots of different types of chocolates and this is the BEST. 5. They have other flavors which are 'seasonal' and I find it easiest to use their online boutique to look up the flavors in English and write it down in French so I could ask the Salesperson for it.
Procedure (skip this if you already know how to shop in France). Wait patiently in line until it is your turn to be helped. When they're helping someone, they ignore everyone else. When it's your turn, point to what you want and they will get it for you. Don't grab the nicely stacked pre-packaged boxes to the counter - sometimes that's their display and they get upset if you unknowingly mess up their 'display'. I ask for permission before taking pictures, unless everyone else in there is already snapping away.
Why minus 1 star? You only get a box if you buy their pre-packaged boxes. If you want to choose your own pieces of chocolates, no matter how many, they put them in a clear bag, no box. This was the case a year ago when I was there. Since the chocolate is expensive, I want specific flavors only. I bring my own sturdy box and re-package them in my hotel. read more
