I stumbled upon this place when I was walking down the street. The young man had called my family in to try samples. I grabbed a raspberry filled cookie - IT WAS HEAVEN. They offered a variety of cookies. You picked your tin box and filled it with whatever you liked. They also had pre made boxes. Very delicious and I love places that provide samples. I dislike buying things that I'm not sure that I'll like. Having a sample will just confirm my willingness to buy more. I recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area. read more

Having visited this store in two other countries we simply had to pay a visit in Paris. It's a short walk from the Louvre, and you'll pass a few small souvenir shops on the way if you want some magnets or other trinkets. The store is fairly spacious, and they have a large display right at the front of their signature cookies. They have numerous varieties, so grab a plastic glove and put your selections into a bag. If you get 900 grams of cookies you will get a tin included. They have a large variety of cookies from basic chocolate to fig or apple-filled. These are different from American cookies and have a crumbly consistency like shortbread and a mild, less-sweet flavor. They are delicate and delicious! The filled cookies have a light fruity filling which is just perfect. They have a large variety of other items too including madelines and candies and gift items. The staff spoke great English and were very friendly and happy to help. They offered to ring us up as three separate transactions so we would qualify for three of the promotional discount madeline tins they were offering. Much appreciated! Definitely visit for these unique French cookies, and you too many be hunting for these boutiques wherever you travel! read more

The shop itself is soooo charming and enticing. Draws you in! It's like that werthers commercial of that little girl going into the caramel shop. I got caramel squares. There are different varieties. A great spot to grab some treats for yourself or as a gift for others. Popped in to the cute shop and was impressed by the amount of selection in the store and how friendly the employees were. Everyone working greeted us immediately and were so helpful in assisting us in picking out some items and giving us samples to see what we liked. Everything here is already at a great price, but some items were by 3 get 1 free that day, so we took advantage of that special. Grabbed some chocolate covered pretzels, a few bags of the biscuits, some candied pecans (were on sale!) and lollipops (1€ each). Have already broken into the caramel biscuits and they are amazing. Stocked up on all sorts of chocolate before I came home. I write this review as I sit next to a now-empty box. You jealous? You should be. Hazelnut ganache was amazing, as was the morsel topped with tiny golden raisins. The espresso was interesting, with very fine grounds blended into what I think was nougat. 11 euro for a box of 9, or about 3,50 each for plain chocolate bars. Everyone I shared these with said they're amazing. I don't think they're as good as the more old-school or upscale chocolatiers, but I would never turn them down. read more

So there are a lot of amazing sweets to be had in Paris, but for me, this shop is both unique and above the rest. They sell a variety of cookies and chocolates, but they specialize in a sort of rounded shortbread cookie with your choice of filling - - everything from chocolate and caramel to cinnimon apple and lemon. You can buy a pre-packaged box of a single flavor, or fill your own tin with any combination of biscuits that you like. I cannot say enough good things. read more

I was so excited when I was walking down the street and saw this place full of colors and beautifully-wrapped treats. It was so hard to decide what to get, but I decided to bring back some madeleines as souvenirs because they had different flavors and were individually wrapped for easy sharing. I even checked expiration dates to find ones that were the freshest. Imagine my disappointment when, two days later, I'm sitting on a train and decide to try the chocolate one. It had mold on the front and the back! Paying one euro for a madeleine and having it be molded is not okay, people can get sick from this. I checked the other chocolate one I bought, and same thing with the mold. After buying them, the madeleines were brought back to an apartment and put in a cool dry place away from sunlight, so storage wasn't the problem. I'm not sure if there was an issue with this batch - if the expiration date was labeled incorrectly or there was an issue with proper packaging, but my experience with this store turned from delight to disappointment. The store really is cute and it was nice to visit, but there is no reason to buy their products if they are inedible due to spoiling. read more

You will not find another store like La Cure Gourmande in Paris with the same quality and reasonable price. Sure, there are a TON of pastry shops, but good luck finding a store with such an assortment of choupette, taffy, biscuit, truffle and chocolate. When you walk into the store you feel transported into the circus with all of the bright colors but don't let that deter you, the employees are no clowns. -FREE samples -Reasonable to high prices -Large assortment -Bulk/gift options available -English speakers -Did I say FREE samples? If I had to compare this store to anything in the states it would be Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, although this store expands way beyond just chocolate. When you first walk-in the bright colors disorient you into some sort of sugar acid trip surprise but once you make your way over to a free sample the treat will bring you back to reality. Beware of walking into this store with your kids, unless you want to leave broke. They'll want EVERYTHING! If you want to try something amazing without spending all of your money, head over to the choupettes (suckers) and get one for 0.99€ or do like me and just buy ten! I'm sorry but by wife has a sweet tooth. Even if you're not in the market for candy, this is a great store to stop by and browse around. You might find something you like by accident. read more

I at first thought I was walking into a tourist trap, because of the bright colors and kitschy tins plus location, but I love me some cookies as a late night snack. I didn't find any shops with more than three varieties of cookie during my trip, so I had to try this place. The cookies are out in bulk bins. You put on the plastic gloves provided and pick your own cookies as you like. This shop had about 20 different varieties of cookie, and maybe 4 - 6 varieties of tin in different sizes to choose from. If you buy over a certain amount of cookies, a tin is included. Otherwise, you can just get your cookies in a bag, or buy a tin separately. I tried about half of the cookie flavors, and they were all good. Tourist trap or not, this shop was a win for me. These cookies are more rich than sugary-sweet, satisfying, with interesting flavor combinations. I particularly liked the cinnamon. I'd say the cookies were a bit pricey for what they were. I didn't try the chocolate or candies. The staff seemed truly as sweet as the products, which was a definite plus. My cookies survived the trip back home in great condition, even without the tin. read more

This store is a childhood dream come to life. The store appearance and ambiance is just the perfect amount of charming. Very thoughtful displays, all of the goodies look and taste delicious, and the packaging is so gorgeous and professional. I purchased assorted nougats, caramels, and madeleines (sp?) to bring home to hubby while in Paris on a recent business trip. All were delicious and almost too gorgeous to eat (but we did anyway). I've been to Paris numerous times, but this was the first time that I stepped into LCG, and I am very happy that I did! I loved this little shop. The moment you walk in it smells amazing and the walls are lined with all kinds of sweets. Our favorite thing is the lollipops but the cookies and fudge are amazing. If you are in France and want to bring sweets home and enjoy some while you are in Paris, stop by this wonderful little shop. It is not to be missed.
