Stunning. This chocolate is art. They literally have chocolate artwork/sculptures in their various stores. We walked by one yesterday that had a lifesize head of a gorilla completely in chocolate. This place is everything you hear it is - pricey chocolate that is unique and creative from the flavors to the sculptures.
I got a piece of every chocolate they had in their case (When will I be back? So, why not). Dark chocolate is the way to go here they only have a handful of milk chocolate options and if you aren't a dark chocolate fan you will be after this place. I visited several different chocolatiers during my time abroad and while each one is unique and has a method or chocolate they are known for - Patrick Roger, by far, has the most creative and delicious. Also, the flavors in the chocolates are incredibly concentrated and flavorful you'll be wondering what kind of crap you've been eating for all these years.
The pistachio marzipan was divine see the picture I posted - the ingredients are the real thing no "essence" of the flavor. The rum raisin was delish!!! They are known for their lime basil, chocolate orange peel, and "rocher". Man, is it pricey but worth it. This is a once a year splurge but a definite must when you come to Paris. Don't be intimidated by the store's setup, it feels like a fancy boutique but the salesperson was personable, friendly, and spoke English (a plus!). She even gave us a sample to try. Truly remarkable chocolate. read more
