Dr. Flores is the best. Our family has been going to him for years. He will listen to all your concerns and answer all your questions. Even questions you didn't think to ask. I was calling several places and they were booked with appointments for at least a month and then I realized that Costco's had an Optometrist. Dr. Flores's secretary was able to get us an appointment the following week and she was really awesome and very professional. My kids were able to see Dr. Flores and let me tell you, this guy is really cool. Dr. Flores absolutely loves what he does and it shows. He explains everything in great detail, has a sense of humor, educates you as he goes step through step, and answers all of your questions. Something that could be a scary experience for a child, he makes it as fun of an experience as he can. Dr. Flores does not use tropicamide either to dilate your pupils, which is wonderful, as they use a new device that does not require it. This is important, as you can leave the office and not have to worry about having your eyes hurting by the sunlight. His office uses an Optomap device, this digitally scans the retina, is non-invasive, and takes only seconds to complete. A thorough eye exam here is $100 as of 2022 and that does include the prescription. For anyone who needs an eye exam, I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Flores. As for buying lenses and glasses, all of those are sold through Costco's, not Dr. Flores as he is independent and does not work for Costco's eye department. If you need lenses/glasses I would highly recommend going to Lilburn Family EyeCare and seeing Optician Troy Weber, he is the best in the area and will make sure your lens is the exact same as your prescription. I came to see Dr. Flores to check my eyes' health. I had LASIK surgery 10 years ago. He was so helpful that I wish I could give him 10 stars! First, he was very throughout and explained in great detail my numbers. As it turned out, to my surprise and his (LOL) I do not need prescription yet. Any other doctor would rush to give you a prescription, but he is not like that! Then, given my eyes' health (thank goodness), he recommended I would go back either in 2 or 3 years. The staff were courteous and pretty efficient, but the two pairs of glasses I got from them swiftly give me a headache every time I wear them. In addition, if you want a replacement set of glasses they insist on your having a full exam, which adds seriously to the cost. they also use a lot of automated equipment in order to get the parameters for any new lenses and those devices are not exceedingly accurate for anyone other than people needing a basic pair of glasses. If you have astigmatism or any other issue, avoid Costco like the plague. read more

Little late on this review but I'm glad Dr. Flores has such great reviews. I went to him back in Feb after feeling like I needed a new prescription, I wear both contacts and glasses so my total came out to be $120.00, pretty standard price imo after researching around for exams. Definitely glad I ended up here, I had not read all the rave reviews on his yelp but I definitely plan to come back here in the future when necessary. I just called the costco eye center and set up an appointment over the phone, Dr. Flores is very through and any questions or concerns you have he will answer them very thoroughly. He gave me a bunch of sample contacts to try out and recommended methods of picking out the perfect ones for me, the ones he highly recommended I figured out were actually my favorite too. He didn't try to push or pursue me to buy anything. They gave me a free contact solution but that specific brand was not one I used, I didn't say anything about it though because it was free, but he actually asked me as we were finishing up which one I used and I said that I actually prefer the ones you soak overnight in 3% hydrogen peroxide and he switched it out for me! Totally unnecessary but meant a lot to me since I probably wasn't going to use the other one to the extent I use the clean care one. It's rare you find someone so passionate and interested in their field after so many years, even though I felt like the questions I had asked he probably has received millions of times he was very patient and quite enthusiastic to answer them, kind of refreshing due to the nature of customer facing jobs. read more

Ok, I can't see worth anything. I had cataract surgery and still needed assistance. I went to Dr. Flores and had the greatest experience. He was most kind and thorough. I was given several options because he actually asked me about my life style and when I would wear glasses or contacts. I walked away with both happy and he had a pair of contacts for me to use and now that I could see, he is also very handsome and his professional manner was excellent. I visited Dr. Flores after losing my glasses. I needed a new pair and also needed and exam. I'd seen other eye docors around town but none were as friendly, helpful and educational as Dr. Flores. Most doctors just sit you down and go through the exam, write up what you need and dismiss you. I'd have to say this was the most informative eye doctor visit I've ever had and I learned so much about how my eyes work. Not only did I have a very thorough exam but I also left the visit with contacts, something i NEVER thought I'd try again. The office staff was extremely helpful and showed me how to correctly and easily put my contacts in, even after i explained the difficulities I'd had a few years back when i tried contacts ( I dont like sticking my finger in my eye). Me and my kids had a GREAT experience with Dr. Flores. Best optometrist visit ever! Every patient receives a quality exam that is very thorough. He is also great with performing exams for kids. He is the first optometrist that accurately prescribed the right lenses for me. Dr. Flores is the optometrist at Costco Optical, Gwinnett loction. He's there every day except Sundays and another weekday I believe. I've gotten several contact prescriptions from him in the past.. but after I moved in to the city and found i needed new eyeglasses, I went on yelp and found a highly rated fancy boutique optometrist in Midtown - which I had an AWFUL experience with - they were snooty, impatient, overpriced, and actually complained under their breath about my mother (review on them coming later) so when i lost my gas perm contact at a party this past weekend, i made the trek to gwinnett costco to get it replaced.. i had gone over the 1 year limit for the applicability of my previous contact prescription and chose not to get one at the midtown optometrist so i had to have another annual eye exam.. Dr. Flores was very thorough.. from the exam, my prescription had actually increased substantially so he suggested that I get new contacts for this prescription. I said that I was concerned that since I work in front of a computer screen all day, I was concerned that having contacts that would give me exactly 20/20 vision would be too sharp and give me headaches. I had this same conversation with unnamed Midtown optometrist and she flat out refused to adjust my prescription lower, was very rude about it, and said if I did choose to order the glasses at a lower prescription she would have no liability. Dr. Flores approached my request completely differently. He gave me two sample soft contacts to try out. One for exactly what he prescribed and one for 0.5 degree lower (which is 0.5 higher than my old contacts) so I could try them out and see which one I was most comfortable with. He said when I decided which ones I liked I could call in and put in my order for the gas perm contacts. So yea, incredibly incredibly convenient, accomodating, and helpful. He was also incredibly patient with my mother who is notorious for asking hard questions and getting on the nerve of my doctors. He addressed all of her concerns and did not mumble under his breath in annoyance or anything (ahem midtown optometrist ahem) His staff was also incredibly nice - I walked away with soft contacts to tide me over until my gas perm contacts came in and starter solution kits for soft contacts and hard contacts.. and a sample of rewetting drops since I didn't have any on me. Only takes debit card and AmEx you know.. since it's Costco and all.. $99 eye exam - awesome. read more
