If you order clothing for delivery and live in an urban neighborhood Do Not Order From PATRICK JAMES. My order went out via UPS, $280 worth of merchandise that I never received. When I called, PJ claimed UPS dropped it off at my front door ( which is on a street with high pedestrian traffic) and said it's my loss. "Go file a police report". I have no idea whether it was delivered to the right address or what happened to it. PJ and UPS should have kept it at the UPS store for pick up if a secure drop off was unavailable. I will never order from them again! read more

My initial experience was good. Went in to get a custom suit and the gentleman who fit me and took my order was great. He said it would be a month. It turned out to be two. Then it went back in for final alterations. No call that it was ready. It was a 9 week wait. If you have any kind of timeline given them 3 to 6 months. I think George Washington got his suits from London in less time. Not impressed. However after all that the suit I got is great so...3 stars. In the end going elsewhere for my suits for better customer service and less employee turnover. read more

Patrick James is the only place I shop for family and gifts for men. It is the best men's store in Fresno I have ever found and have been shopping here my whole life. I used to go to the SF store as well, but they closed a few years ago. RIP Patrick James Mon Pere who died this week. Thank you for bringing fine men's clothiers to Northern California. I love your store and the fine service is provides. I bought many gifts at Christmas and for my Dad. I intend to shop here until I drop. Their delivery system stinks. I purchased a beautiful shirt for my Dad's 85th birthday on November 14, 2019. The website assured it would be delivered in 2-6 days; plenty of time for my Dad's birthday on November 22. When I didn't see the shirt being shipped, I called customer service. (No tracking info available on the website). Customer service explained they would have to receive the shirt from their "vendor" which would occur on November 22. Thereafter, they promised to ship to me 2-6 days after. Never would have bought it and missed being able to give it to my Dad on his birthday if I had known the real delivery schedule. Patrick James has a very nice selection of mens clothing for any occasion.They pride themselves on customer service. Every item was neat and perfectly where it was supposed to be. I was looking for a nice scarf for Christmas gifts and they had a very nice selection. The people that assisted me were very polite as helped me pick out the perfect one. I will say this; Patrick James is very very expensive but their clothing is of high quality so buying a few pieces here and there will last you a long time. It is a good place to buy special occasion outfits if you are a guy. read more

Average staff and variety of clothing. They seem to cater to a more sophisticated customer, but their inventory is often trendy and gaudy. I also agree with Kristine, the counter position seems to be below some of their staff. I waited for over 2 min, in plain view of other associates, just to have a particular person handle my transaction. Focus on customer service and listen to your client. read more

There's definitely a look you're going for if you are shopping here - there are suits, club house wear (ok, that sounds quite republican, i'll give you that) & other fancy terms i can't remember. I mosied on in with a friend who needed a jacket/vest tailored. He was helped right away, & the tailor there really seemd to know what he was doing & gave several useful suggestions - from the fit to suggesting what kind of material my friend may consider using for his pants. He needed the alterations for a wedding coming up very soon. no problem; the tailor didnt even bat an eye. Really impressive. Wandering around the store, the "cheapest" shirt i ran across was $78...buuuut you're paying for quality. All you have to do is feel the material & you'll know. They also custom fit dress shirts ($100 the pricetag said). In short, I'll never have a reason to come here - first, i'm a girl, second my mister doesnt wear this style of clothing & third i like to be able to pay for my clothes not using rent money. this is NOT some store you can just drop in & casually look around. Good thing to know - they will work on tailoring items even if they are not bought from their store. read more

I was a regular customer of Patrick James for years. About 2 years ago I purchased 4 italian made slacks on sale $140 ea. After 1 year the butt seams fabric separated. I called the toll free corporate customer service for instructions and was told to return them to the local store and they will take care of it. I returned the slacks to the store and was told that the manager was not in, but leave them and he will contact you. This is where the service and the issues began. No calls and I called repeatedly and was told manager was unavailable. I finally spoke with him 3 weeks later and was told to meet him on his terms when he was available. Ok, I work weekdays and the rest we can guess. I finally showed up and the manager was there 8 weeks later, he at first could not locate them, then after 10 minutes he returned with my slacks and said he doesn't understand what my complaint was all about!!!! See there is nothing wrong with them. I inspected the butt crotch area and the pants were repaired. He then claimed I was incorrect and no repairs were done AT ALL! I pulled out my handy droid phone and showed him the pics of the shredding fabric, back tracked he did! Then claimed that he was unaware of the repairs etc. I asked for assurance that the pants will not separate again and would they be taken care or replaced at no charge, he said rudely "no they will not be and there will not be a future problem for sure and he can't help it if I may have gained some weight the last year, which may have caused the problem in the first place" I was really ticked off and found myself potentially losing my cool and saying things I should not. I maintained my composure and respectfully walked out. Vowed NEVER to go back again. Well here it is now 2 years later and now the seems in other areas are breaking and pulling apart. I am NOT overweight, nor am I buying slacks that are tight. Actually I buy and wear size 38/31 and for these slacks I bought 40/31 since being on sale that was all they had, they fit nice and a bit looser than I like, but I saved 1/2 price. What a joke! NO SAVINGS AT ALL!!!! I have since bought 4 new pairs at Macy's Men's and paid 40-60 per pair on sale, WOW, they are fantastic after 1 year, and the last 4 pairs I previously purchased from Macy's 3 years ago are still going strong and classy looking. I have some older ones also, but they are starting to look a bit worn. So in the next few months I plan to buy another set of 4 from Macy's and donate my older slacks to Goodwill. I have not and will not return to Patrick James, period. When I think about it, it irks me that I was ripped off and sold Italian slacks and they did not hold up, that was my first time buying expensive slacks, thinking that they would last 5 years plus, but apparently the quality was not there after all.
