In my opinion, Patrick will give the best bang for buck for someone who already has a gameable swing (scoring in the 80s to 100s), has decent body awareness, and is looking for an instructor who will notice the small details that are costing a player 5-10 strokes a round. Read the reviews already here and most of them are from people who have already been playing for some time. After a single lesson, I can already tell Patrick's attention to detail is superb. The day after my lesson (I generally have wavered between a high single digit and low double digit index), I shot +3 through 11 from the back tees. Getting to a 5 index this year seems realistic now. If you're completely new to golf, you can find cheaper instructors who will give you a basic understanding of the swing. They will generally all tell you the same thing, and it will likely take you some time to get your body used to the golf swing. Once you feel like you can make contact on 8/10 balls at the range on a consistent basis, or are scoring in about the 110s, then come in to Patrick to really mold your swing. The match between swing coaches and players can, at times, be subject to a lot of different factors. I've had awkward lessons in the past from other coaches who it was just a bad pairing. But my work with Patrick has been encouraging, helpful, clear and understandable, and repeatable. For a full understanding, I've been playing off and on for 30 years. Been as low as an 11 index, but had laid off the game entirely for about 10 years. Getting back into the game in my early 60's means I have rust and physical limitations I didn't used to have. I took a couple of golf lessons before Pat. Each session the instructor was trying to get my body to swing like the pros, and with that came a lot of jargon, uncomfortable adjustments (in terms of execution and lower back pain), and data overload (spin, speed, carry, etc, etc). The net for me was the data and adjustments were too vast, slightly overwhelming. Pat had a different approach for me based on my body (size, weight and flexibility) and age. He focused on working with my individual abilities. For example - he said go ahead and hit some balls. During this process he is asking some key questions in terms of feel and mental (what am I thinking, how did it feel, etc). With that data he would help make mental adjustments to reduce the noise to ensure the mental focus has precision. After watching and collecting data from my swings, he would incorporate one or two drills to fix flaws with MY natural swing; what's impressive is that he NAILS it. The adjustments are on point. So when I get to the course I can focus on 2 or 3 adjustments for my swing rather than trying to rebuild my entire game with 15 adjustments. I've been working with Pat for a little over a year and my golf game has dramatically improved. I rarely write a review for anything but Patrick is worth it. I can't recommend him more highly if you're looking to improve your golf game. Before I started taking lessons with Patrick in March of 2021, I struggled to break 100. I was usually plus or minus 5 strokes of that. My lowest score ever had been a 92. I tried getting better on my own by hitting the range and playing lots of golf. Didn't work. Looking to take lessons, I was lucky to find Patrick. My goal at the start was just to break 90 and then start shooting in the 80s regularly. Within 6 lessons, not only did I break 90, I shot an 85. My buddies couldn't believe. The tables had turned. Now barely a year has gone by and my game has gotten way better than I thought possible. I never imagined I could break 80. Well, in March of this year, after only a year of lessons and hard work, I shot a 77! While I haven't broken 80 since then, I now have seen that I am capable of more and y new goal is to regularly break 80. None of this could have been possible without Patrick. He doesn't try to change your whole. He doesn't ask you to do things you can't. He can work with what you have, make subtle changes over time, but make huge changes in your golf game. Reading about others experiences with taking lessons from other pros, I get the sense that my progress with Patrick is unusually fast. I have been working with Patrick for a while now, and have seen a dramatic improvement in my ball striking as well as my overall game. The lessons I have had with him not only focus on improving my swing but also on mindset to carry on to the course during a round. I got back into golf over the Pandemic to work on my game and my gf surprised me with a lesson with Patrick for my birthday in Feb 2022. I was excited but a little fearful to work with a professional since I knew my swing needed a lot of work. My fears were immediately alleviated during my first lesson with Patrick as I felt immediately like we had known each other for years as he has a very warm personality. In that first lesson, I took a number of swings to warm up and he immediately knew where to start working. I think he even laughed a little because he had an idea of what was needed for me and to me that was a sign of a guy that really loves what he does. We started with my grip and take back which was my first focus. Immediately I started seeing improvements on the range. The next few lessons I came back and to my surprise, he was preparing for each lesson looking at recordings of my swing the night before and being prepared with specific drills to work on. Always coaching with a positive attitude and reinforcement he really understands how I learn, what will work for me and how to get the most out of each lesson. He often texts to see how everything is going and offering to help anyway he can. My ball striking is much better and I've only played two times in the last 3 months but shaved 6 strokes off my score!
