Dane is a great golf teacher. He's able to explain things so you can understand what you're doing right and wrong.

Patrick Harris Bay Area Golf - Instruction

Patrick Harris Bay Area Golf

(30 reviews)

I came to Patrick as a total beginner and couldn't be happier with the progress. After several…read moresessions, I've gone from barely making contact to actually hitting consistent shots. He's incredibly patient and breaks down the fundamentals (grip, stance, swing) in a way that isn't overwhelming. If you're nervous about starting golf, go see Patrick. He makes the learning process a lot of fun.

Let's get the rates out of the way first. Your swing evaluation (first session) is going to be…read more$150. Then afterward, it's up to about $215/hr. You can get a better rate if you do a bigger package. Who is Patrick best for? In my opinion, Patrick will give the best bang for buck for someone who already has a gameable swing (scoring in the 80s to 100s), has decent body awareness, and is looking for an instructor who will notice the small details that are costing a player 5-10 strokes a round. Read the reviews already here and most of them are from people who have already been playing for some time. After a single lesson, I can already tell Patrick's attention to detail is superb. The day after my lesson (I generally have wavered between a high single digit and low double digit index), I shot +3 through 11 from the back tees. Getting to a 5 index this year seems realistic now. If you're completely new to golf, you can find cheaper instructors who will give you a basic understanding of the swing. They will generally all tell you the same thing, and it will likely take you some time to get your body used to the golf swing. Once you feel like you can make contact on 8/10 balls at the range on a consistent basis, or are scoring in about the 110s, then come in to Patrick to really mold your swing. For the love of God though, do not try to coach yourself through YouTube.

I have been following GolfBallin on Instagram for about 8 years. It was time to get new irons and…read morethis is where I decided to do that. I drove an hour away from Dixon to check it out. Brandon was very knowledgeable and hella cool through the process. It's a sick golf shop with all kinds of accessories you've never seen. Ended up getting new irons, new shirt and he regripped my putter. Very happy with the experience. If I lived closer, I'd be a member. The outdoor simulators and putting/chipping green were awesome. You have to check this place out. It's worth the drive.

We just moved to Oakley and I was looking for a golf shop to change the grip on my putter. Yelp…read moredirected me to this shop which was just a mile from my house. I was impressed the moment I walked into this place. I was able to meet Brandon, the owner. He also replaced my old grip with the new one. It didn't take him long to replace it. I checked the place and I was amazed by the size of the putting green and the indoor simulator bays. This one looks like a golf man cave and every golfer will enjoy the activities they offer. The shop has a lot to offer for all levels. If you live around Oakley or Brentwood, you don't have to drive far to get your golf accessories, such as golf balls, bags, and gloves. I think they sell golf carts too. For a minimum monthly fee, you have unlimited use of their facilities and also a discounted price on their equipment. If you need golf equipment or services, you have to check the Golfballin

Ok so the hubby has been coming her for a awhile and I had not made an appearance so o came to…read moresupport and have a Monday night date. Yippee. I did some warm up shots and then I was the official putter. Thank God he understands heheh. In my defense I have played courses with him before 18 holes is just a lot. But that's teamwork and we making the dream work!! So back to this place, it's pretty cool. There is one big room with a. Door and looks like a little more private experience and then there are two side by side bays around the corner. You can many many course from around the world or some original Courses. There are also some games. We didn't play those this time but maybe next time. He says the booking is pretty easy you do it online and then they send you a code to get in. The only thing missing is a water station. If the owner sees this please consider a water station with still and bubbly water. Hehe. Some splashes of fruit would be nice too!! Last but not least maybe some instrumental background music. Not too loud but just enough to catch it here and there. Oh. Wait one more thing. I saw two groups bring the kiddos. It's a great place to teach your little ones. As I don't know many golf courses that allow the kids??

The owner, Charles, is super nice and is very helpful. I booked a free trial and knew right then and there that this was the place for me. This is the best monthly subscription membership I have ever signed up for. I will be booking with PGA coach Elliott Paylor soon to fine-tune my swings. So far, the feedback from the TrackMan technology is proving its worth and quality with insanely accurate stats, video swing playback, video club impact, and more detailed information. I love my unlimited hours privilege and I look forward to coming often.

Long time overdo. Russell is different, but in the most positive way. Although Russell has the…read moretechnical knowledge to break down your golf swing from start to finish, he specializes in explaining the golf swing in the easiest way possible. Russell has the ability to teach using ideas rather than terms, thus eliminately multiple swing thoughts at the moment of impact. Russell emphasizes swing thoughts, as "the driver head must beat the hands at the finish line" and "once your thumbs are up, start the downswing." Russell's words of wisdom have helped lower my scores but more importantly, made golf more enjoyable, as I have to think much less lol. Aside from his golf knowledge, Russell has always been professional, well dressed (G/Fore), prompt, and always knows how to make people laugh when needed. Best of all is his pup, Crisco!

But I'm very grateful that I met Russell as my instructor. He made my experience so much enjoyable. Now that I'm getting into golfing and learning it. It's so fun! The outcome is always different every single swing, the movement. Literally everything. I looked forward to coming and learning more for my best potential. Russell always brings out the best during my lesson. *Always remember, PGA! (POSTURE, GRIP, ALIGNMENT)*. Every sports have its own fundamental skills and without knowing the basics, it's impossible to learn a new sports. He's definitely aware of this so he won't BS nothing! He starts off teaching the fundamental skills of golf, moves onto the next and so on and on. He has a book by John Jacob and he showed me how things are supposed to look like and that helped a lot for someone like me who's a tactile-visual learner. By the second lesson, I started to see the difference of my posture/swings right away. I never expected to learn this fast. He's super interactive and will point out the "mistakes" that I'm doing right away. My weakness was not be able to have my club DOWN or it was late. I GOTTA GO DOWN!! (you'll understand this once you start learning from him). I always have that in back of my mind to keep it down. I stopped thinking or focusing too much on the wrist, head, feet, backswings, things surrounding you because it makes it really difficult to have your own swing so now I just focus my eyes on the ball and do what he told me to do! Very happy with the results and where I'm at now. I'll definitely get more lessons from master shifu in his dojo! Thank you for making it so fun!!
