Voytek did the tile in our recent master bathroom remodel. He did an excellent job. Along the way there was a design mistake made (not Voytek's mistake mind you) and that required removing about 8 large tiles and replacing them. Our designer cautioned us that often in the process of doing this, surrounding tiles may be inadvertently damaged. But Voytek carefully removed the incorrect tile and didn't damage any tiles whatsoever. Not only that but he did the work in half the time the designer estimated it would take. Voytek works quick but he is ultra careful at the same time -- just like you hope all contractors will work. Voytek is also a really friendly guy and is a good communicator, always making sure we were informed of any potential issues in advance. He goes the extra mile and takes a lot of pride in his work. The guy's an artist with tile and we would recommend him unconditionally. read more

We caught him during a brief lull in his busy schedule and was able to have him come work on our small master bathroom project. My general contractor highly recommended Voytek to retile my entire house and tile my master bathroom. Voytek is simply awesome, and I highly recommend Unique Tile and am planning to leverage him for additional outdoor tile work in the future. Voltek and Roberto are true craftmen who meticulously retiled my house over a 4-5 week period. They were flexible and were able to accommodate our living situation by completing the project over a couple phases as we constantly moved our belongings from room to room. Voltek works extremely hard and makes every attempt to honor his commitment. He came over one weekend and put in long hours on both Saturday and Sunday to ensure he completed the project on time and unblock the other teams who were waiting to finish his part. For our bathroom project, he went the extra mile several times as he found the perfect quarter round tile for us one day and on the next, spend hours at a several home improvement store trying to locate a single box of tile when he and the contractor realized we were short. The end result is we couldn't be happier with our floors and our master bathroom as well. Adding 5 Stars is a lot easier than the 2 stars with revisiting the problems that occurred. Well working with Voytek is interesting. He gives you so much information that at first it comes out to be too much but as you go along you see that it's not just communication but it's his working style (service); He'll pay extra care to little details & will update you on it. I would hire him for ANY things he says he can do (I am a DIYer so I know where to use License & where you can live without it). He'll give you in-depth details on what is being done, take input & correct any changes you want. He was a subcontractor so I cannot say on his pricing model. He's got some handyman (Bernard/Edgar) who're exceptional. I wanted to mention them here as well as they could be left alone to do what is asked & will perform with due diligence. I think it's his team that makes him get that 5th Star :) I gotta paint the garage (he was involved in building it) to post some pictures. read more

If you need any tilework done in the SF Bay Area, Voytek is your man. He has the best prices, does the best work, gets everything done on time, and is very easy to work with. We just finished a very complicated 500 SF remodel/addition of our home in San Mateo and had to work with a number of different contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. We have pretty high standards and we can be difficult to work with at times so we had some not-so-great experiences with some of the contractors, but Voytek was the one guy who we knew we could count on to do things right the first time and not try to take advantage of us. Voytek did all of the tilework on a new bathroom and a renovated bathroom in our 4BR/2BA single family home in San Mateo. This included the floors, shower areas, tub areas, and borders. The estimates that our general contractor provided for the tilework in the two bathrooms were a little on the high end, so we interviewed 5-6 different tile companies to see if their prices would be any better. At first we were hesitant to have someone else do the tilework, but after meeting Voytek and talking through the project with him, we hired him and it was the best decision we could have made. His prices are the best, his work is of the highest quality, and he is one of the nicest, hardest working guys you will ever meet. He genuinely cares about you and your project, and he went above and beyond to make sure we got the bathrooms done the way we wanted, on-time and on-budget. Ok this guy is the real deal. Voytek is The Master of Tile Work. He did two jobs for me: re-tiling around my fireplace (which included demolition of old tile) and a new backsplash in the kitchen. I did the demo work on a master bath and he offered to rent a trailer and haul the debris away, as long as I paid for the cost. Miguel who did a lion share of the install has been doing tile for 20 years and very skilled. Each and every day they cleaned up and ensured that the house and carpets were protected. Voyek's bid included all the prep with the shower pan, so make sure to account for that if you're redoing a shower and comparing bids. Votek and his crew created a fantastic new bathroom for our family. We had considerable dry rot under the old tub and he and another contractor repaired the subfloor. They then removed an old jacuzzi tub and created a new walk-in shower with new mosaic tile flooring, mosaic waterfall walls, the remaining marble walls, new lighting, new plumbing, painting. He provided us with a detailed budget and cost estimate and kept to it except for some minor change orders. For a 200 sf bathroom, it took about 2 1/2 months partially because of the installation of the mosaic floor and wall. His crew were courteous and professional. His work may take longer because he uses mud/concrete underlay but it is worth it. We are very happy with his work. read more

I recently upgraded my old wood burning fireplace to gas, and wanted to have a new clean look to the surrounding tiles.
