Very Disappointing Experience -- Poor Planning, Poor Communication, and Weak Customer Support…read moreMy experience with Paradise Grills has been extremely frustrating from start to finish. While the salespeople were friendly, the execution, planning, and customer service after the sale were unacceptable. They informed me that an electrician would need to install the lights, which I understood. What I did not understand and what was never disclosed was the extent of the wiring required. I assumed this would be similar to installing a ceiling fan in a home, where the wiring is already in place and the electrician simply connects the fixture. Instead, there was no wiring, no conduit, port holes and no preparation at all inside the pergola. This turned into a much larger electrical project that cost me an additional $1,500. What makes this especially frustrating is that they clearly knew the scope of work required and had documentation outlining the electrical requirements. However, that documentation was not provided to me until the day of installation, when the installers were already at my house. Had this been disclosed upfront, I absolutely would have reconsidered the purchase or planned accordingly. Another ongoing issue is the lack of clear and reliable dimensions. They cannot provide precise measurements for where underground utilities need to be placed, which makes installation planning unnecessarily difficult and feels like guesswork. There were also several avoidable design and coordination problems: * The outdoor fan they installed hangs directly in the line of sight of the TV, partially blocking the view * The puck lights they supplied are daylight white, while the fan light is warm white yellow tint completely mismatched and they refused to correct it * The TV cover they supplied did not fit properly * The installers disagreed that it was an issue, and during rain that same day, the TV was left exposed and got wet * I had to purchase my own temporary cover while waiting for a replacement Additionally, the bar chairs that were supposed to be included were not delivered, and no one communicated this in advance. We were only told at the time of delivery, which reflects poor coordination and lack of accountability. Overall, this has been a very stressful and unnecessarily complicated experience. The product may look nice, but the planning, communication, and customer support behind it have been very disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Paradise Grills.

Prices range from moderate to expensive, and discounts can be found on selective items. With the assistance of an employee, I was able to find some spice jars; some were sold individually and others as a set. I couldn't make up my mind with how many jars I would need, so I told the employee I have to come back.

It was hard moving her there, but physically for her it was time. Picking out new furniture was a bit of retail therapy for her during what's often a difficult transition. We were hoping to make a fun day out of it. However, at the first place we went (NOT Haverty's) were treated like second class citizens. The saleswoman was impatient and aloof. She showed us the biggest, most expensive chair and then acted like every question we asked was putting her out to answer. Worst of all, everything we liked was a 4-6 week wait. My grandma was pretty bummed and about to just pick the chair that was available and I said, wait, let's walk [roll] a couple doors down to Haverty's. It was easier for her than her having to transfer to and from the car again and the weather was nice enough. We get to Haverty's and Sharon greeted us immediately at the door. Asked our names and how we were related [my daughter was with us and it makes my grandma beam to be able to say that's her "great granddaughter"]. We told her we just moved her into a assisted living so instead of taking us to see the biggest chair on the floor (like the other lady) she took us to more compact ones, suitable for the smaller space. Everything she did was thoughtful. She took her time with us and when I said we were also looking for a sofa she took us to one that was not only small but also with higher seat cushions that my grandmother could get in and out of if she wanted to. Then we saw one in this beautiful blue color that my grandma loved. She'd seen a similar color at the other store but it wasn't available for weeks. We wound up getting the sofa, matching love seat and the power lift chair and it's getting delivered Saturday (as in THIS Saturday, not next month). Even as the sale was as good as done, Sharon's kindness continued. She asked if we were aware of the various VA and Medicaid benefits available to seniors - we are but the fact that she took the time to offer that information was so thoughtful. To top it off, AFTER the sale was done, I could see my grandma was worn out, so I said wait here and I'll walk back to get the car. When I got back Sharon had pulled up a seat and was sitting with my grandma keeping her company. She didn't have to do that. Even the smallest outings mean the world to our seniors, and Sharon turned what was shaping up to be a disappointing day into one of the best days we'd had with my grandma since the move. She was in such a good mood she let us take her out to dinner afterward. I can't say enough great things about this lady and our experience from the ambiance and service to the selection and especially the availability. Sharon and Haverty's really made our day and the furniture is exactly what my grandma wanted. Next time we need furniture I know where we're going!

Warranty was purchased through Havertys and the cat peed on the sectional (which is covered by the warranty) and Havertys offered a $300 credit(which the warranty was more then that). And they came at a really high price - we couldn't find any rugs under $8,000 (we were looking for a large area rug - 13' x 10'). And then we found Design-A-Rug!!! Ali and Mavash were so helpful. They actually make all their rugs from scratch, in any design you can come up with. They are great designers and they put our ideas and colors into the computer and came up with EXACTLY the rug we were looking for, AT HALF THE PRICE!!! A custom made, beautiful rug that is quality-made (very heavy!) and will last us years and years. So rare to find craftspeople with such skill, integrity and talent! Birch Lane, a Wayfair company, took the place of Z Gallerie which closed over a year ago. I used to love Z Gallerie, they had some really nice quality furniture there as well as a wide array of eclectic decor and art. Birch Lane is much more conventional and boring and because of size constraints, they don't have much inventory on the floor. Unfortunately, we left empty-handed, but not for a lack of trying. The staff did offer us the option of looking for other options online and having them ship it to us. However if I wanted to order something from Birch Lane or Wayfair, I could just do that in the comfort of my home. I don't need a salesperson to act as a middleman and browse the website with me. I don't know, maybe I'm just not the target demographic for this store. Overall 3 stars from me. It's definitely adequate, it just lacks flair and inventory.

The current in-store Spring Cyber Week special is 20% off all outdoor furniture although today I was inquiring about sofas and delivery policies. This store specializes in several major brands including Mayfair, All Modern, Joss & Main and Perigold. During browsing the staff was informative and not aggressive. They indicated that all purchases include FREE delivery although the current waiting period for sofas are several weeks or longer to arrive. No sale today but will keep this location in my back pocket.
