Not only was Novara the most knowledgeable, they were also the most professional. Impressing me with their due diligence and knowledge of everything about both construction and landscaping. They were the only company who even mentioned laying gopher wire and knew about Ditra membranes. Seeing Stephen Garcia on social media cinched it for me. He knew his stuff. This was a company that I could tell would care as much as I did. I came to them with a full design in mind. Lots of landscapers don't love that because they want to do their own thing or because clients don't understand engineering, permits, etc. That said, Novara not only brought my own vision to life but they improved upon it with their experience and passion. I had nothing in my yard but a lot of dirt. Now I have a stunning porcelain paver landing with lighting, a patio and a pergola, DG, irrigation, lighting and a stunning plant design that is flourishing! These guys impressed me with their crew and work ethic. They were there early every morning and worked full long days. Stephen was in constant contact with me and came by frequently. He discussed every little thing they were doing. Novara never pushed me nor grew impatient with me or my questions. They didn't try to add anything expensive and were completely transparent about everything they did, as they did it. I cannot recommend them enough! I'm attaching some photos but will update them as more furniture arrives! Book these guys, you will not be sorry!

From quote to finish, I'm astounded by Novara and team and highly recommend them. There were a few…read morethings we were looking for when choosing a contractor: reasonable pricing, professionalism, competency, and great communication. Drainage was our biggest concern as there's a slope going to the house. Addressing the engineering - not just aesthetics - gave us comfort that this company knows what they're doing. Quote- found them on Yelp, read the reviews, asked for a quote through Yelp projects. They offered next day coordination to view the project. Steven was pleasant and professional. Understood our drainage concerns. The emailed quote came the following day, and it had every detail requested. This punctuality and attention to detail already says a lot to me so we hired them. The job- Started on schedule and the team went above and beyond! We requested the excavated soil to be set aside so we could use it on another part of our property - they so kindly placed the soil in the areas we needed. We saw the engineering of the small gradation for water drainage. The channel drain and French drain were installed for longevity. The 1000+ sqft of pavers were meticulously arranged by hand to include border pavers. Timeframe- this massive job was scheduled for 5 days but extended into 10 days due to the manufacture shorting the border paver count. Clean up- the team did well to smooth out the rest of the excavated soil, gave us as much left over rock and pavers as we wanted and even relocated it to our convenience. Lastly, they swept the patio for immediate use and took any remaining debris. We very much appreciated Steven and the Novara crew for the long days and great work! We love that this a local family business doing great work. The patio looks great and it has us excited to extend our living space!

I misunderstood him mumbling on the phone and thought he was another company I called a quote for. He was so rude to me, wouldn't give me the time of day after the miscommunication. He said "I don't think you need our help". Must be a good company if they don't need a 2500 sqft. masonry job. MY apologies for misunderstanding "Reyes for Reynoso"- another masonry company in Santa Rosa. Might be great work but I wouldn't know due to the lack of customer service in our second phone call.

We hired Felipe in January of 2013 to build a large patio and pergola for our restaurant in Sonoma…read more We had never worked with him before, but the reviews looked good. We were concerned at the start, just because it was a big project. But from the first meeting we found Felipe and his father Miguel extremely easy to work with, kind, thoughtful, quick to grasp all aspects of the project, and very hard-working. In no time, we had a schedule and a budget for the project that we thought was very fairly priced. Because this was a commercial project, we ran into frequent problems with City Hall, but despite this, Felipe kept the project on track with amazing patience, good humor, and creativeness. He was always available, always there, and always helpful. (Having dealt with other contractors, we were astounded.) His integrity is also exceptional. When a run of very hot weather came just as a concrete countertop was starting to cure, a hairline crack appeared in one countertop. I hadn't even noticed the crack. But Felipe pointed it out to me and insisted on replacing the entire countertop at his own expense so that it was absolutely perfect. That kind of honesty and integrity is priceless. In the end, we have a completed project we are absolutely thrilled with and proud of. He kept it as close to on time and on budget as humanly possible (given the difficulties with the City approval process) and we could not be happier. We will be using him again for work on our own house and would recommend him enthusiastically to family and friends. If anyone would like to see his work, they are very welcome to come and look at the project at any time...it is the Depot Hotel in Sonoma.

While I was only asking for the driveway drainage issue to be addressed, his crew fixed several other items over a two day period (damaged stucco, drainage pit for mini split unit to name a few). While the new drainage looks promising, I won't really be able to adequately review until the rains start. However, at this point I am very happy with the outcome. Taynara Melo, project manager on my project, and her crew, no longer work for Martin Pavers. Taynara and her husband Fernando Moreira have started their own company based in Concord. Anyone reading this review and looking at/deciding on a potential paver company for a project should be very careful of Elite Pavers. Had my initial interactions with Martin Pavers been only with Taynara, I would not have moved forward with this project. Her lack of knowledge, experience and general poor work ethic would have had me looking elsewhere. However, I have no further issues with Fabio and Martin Pavers.

The drainage was not working, I had to call them back to redo for 3 times (while it's really hard to get them back). The retaining wall was built totally wrong ! Even I as someone knows nothing about paver noticed they just put the bricks together and did not do anything at the back, I questioned while they were doing it that there should be drainage and on the back there should be some treatment, but Luis said that was the way they build. After 1st raining season, the water, mud came all from the retaining wall and they look really terrible, the mud and water stayed on my backyard pavers since the spot drainage can not catch them! I'm working with other contracts this year to fix the retain wall Martin Pavers did, and surprised to see it (Martin Paver) is still in the market !! While working on the driveway, they discovered that the existing drain was not actually a French drain and that the piping was blocked with dirt. Alfonso explained the issue and offered a solution that worked wonderfully. They removed the old concrete along the side of the house and installed a proper French drain. I really appreciated that they didn't just complete the original scope of work--they helped us solve a problem we didn't even realize we had. We did hit a snag when the Shamrock Concrete drivers went on strike, but Alfonso kept us informed throughout the delay and was very transparent about what was happening. At the last minute, I also asked if they could repair a cracked set of stairs at my old house before our home inspections. Alfonso and his team were able to fit the additional work into their schedule and get it done in time, which I greatly appreciated. They also did a great job matching the color of the repaired stairs as closely as possible to the existing concrete deck, so the repair blended in really well. Alfonso and his crew are incredibly hardworking. What stood out to me most was their honesty, integrity, transparency, quality of work, and very reasonable pricing. I would work with Bedrock Concrete Construction again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend them. You guys rock!
