I have been to many dentists as my job takes me around the country. This by far was the worst experience I have had. I would never claim my teeth are perfect but I do go for regular checkups (every six months) and you would think I walked in with a pair of Billy Bob teeth on. They basically wanted to do everything under the sun to my mouth except give me the cleaning I went in for. No further appointments, I'll go pay out of pocket for another dentist for a cleaning and switch my insurance from this clinic when the time comes. read more

Dr. Patel at A Gentle Touch Dentistry has handled our family's dental needs for over 16 years. He is thorough and efficient with the routine care with a great chair side manner. We are very pleased with the handling of our daughter's 6 veneer restoration case after she had a bike accident. For the past 11 years Dr. Patel has been my dentist. I have always appreciated his proactive methods for taking care of my dental hygiene. However, this past weekend he showed me how caring he was above and beyond the normal routine. On Friday night around 11:30 I lost my left top front crown. I was panicking as I had things to do over the weekend and I was going out of town the next week for my grandson's college graduation. I called the office and left a message. Then I realized he had an emergency number. I decided, because of the time, I would text the number. Within a minute or so he responded and we texted back and forth. He said he'd get in touch with me in the morning, which he did. I came in the office at 10am and for the next three and a half hours he put me back together. Turns out it was his day off, as well as his assistant's day off. I don't know how I can ever thank him for giving up his Saturday to take care of me. Of the several dentists I've had he certainly is the best, not only for his expertise but for the kindness and caring he gives. read more

My whole family has been seeing Dr. Patel for about 1 year. He was recommended by a friend of mine. I only decided to write the review because I can't believe how bad the other reviews are. Dr. Patel and staff are some of the nicest people you'll meet. I have a lot of very complex dental issues so I see the doc quite a bit. I can't say enough about his knowledge, exceptional skill, and chair side manner. I've have seen a ton of dentists in my life but Dr. Patel is by far the best! I really appreciate the time he takes explaining every detail of treatment. He is attentive and truly wants what's best for the patient. I haven't had insurance issues because I'm very aware of what my insurance pays so there are no surprises. The office has also been more than accommodating regarding payment options. Dr. Patel is a wonderful dentist. Going to the dentist can create anxiety but I've had nothing but a positive experience at his office. He is talented in what he does and his work proves that. I've been seeing him for 20 years or so now and cannot imagine going to anyone else. Office staff is also friendly and makes you feel comfortable when present for appointments. Wow, I heard about Dr Patel from a co worker. He is fantastic. As a yelper I was disturbed by the past reviews. His office is very clean, the staff is helpful and nice. I recently moved to the area and could not justify spending money in gas to see my old mediocre dentist. When I met Dr Patel I was pleased with his chair side manner and passion for dentistry...since I was a bit nervous. The best part of my visit was the fact that I knew I needed a crown. I was putting it off for a while. And he was able to make a crown in the office in one visit. I did not even have to gag on that goop they jam in your mouth! No temporary cap and I was off in two hours with a nice looking cap in the back of my mouth. It was virtually pain free! This was a great experience. I have been seeing Dr. Patel for 4 years. He is such a wonderful and caring dentist. I had a deep rooted and over the top fear of dentists. I would become near hysterical when walking into a dentist's office. I would never see a dentist more than one or two times. I found most of them don't have the patience to work with someone like me. Dr. Patel is totally different. He was and is very patient! He has done wonderful work on my teeth. He's the only dentist in my lifetime that I have stayed with for this long. And I no longer cry when I walk into his office! I find his chair side manner very warm and personable. I read the negative remarks about Dr. Patel and all I can say is that they must have walked into the wrong office. Dr. Patel has always taken the time to explain the procedures and he made sure I understood what was going to happen. He worked within the limits of the dental plan I have and my budget-scheduling work as needed. I have always received the very best treatment of my teeth and more importantly, the very best treatment of me, the person. My father had broken a tooth 2 weeks before my daughter's wedding. My dad's dentist couldn't fit him in, but Dr. Patel squeezed him in. Dr. P fixed the tooth so it would look good for the wedding; and it looked perfectly natural. My dad, who is one of the most negative people I know, sings Dr. Patel's praises. read more

I have to agree with the first guy. I had a similar experience. I went to him for awhile until I found out how much he had been over charging me. He would rail about the insurance companies and then go off plan and charge whatever he wanted. He seemed like a business man more interested in making money than taking care of my teeth. He charged $2800 for what the insurance company said should have been only $1300. He was pushing for a lot more work when I was out of insurance when it was unnecessary. I switched dentists and never went back. The things he was so urgent to get done lasted for a couple years! Don't go to this guy! read more

Had the same experience as the other two reviewers. I was told that my insurance wasn't really insurance but a "dental discount" program. (Interesting since the oral surgeon they sent me to said I had incredible insurance.) They clean your teeth a quadrant at a time, meaning that it take 4 appointments to get all your teeth clean. While waiting to have my last quadrant cleaned, the receptionist came in and told me that the doctor had ordered some additional "work" for me and that it would be $2000 after insurance. Asked what the "work" was, she didn't know but assumed that the doctor had already discussed it with me (he hadn't). Left without having the last quadrant cleaned and have never gone back. Sad thing is, he is recommended by our dental insurance company. I called them and told them he rips people off and they didn't really seem to care. read more

Dr. Prashant Patel of A Gentle Touch Dentistry impresses me as caring and competent, dedicated and skilled. Perhaps most important he is personable, likeable, a good listener--the perfect blend of "chair-side manner." It's obvious that his philosophy of dental practice is "the patient comes first." His evaluations and treatment plans are thorough, and he strives to offer state-of-the-art highest quality care. From what I've heard, there are those in the profession uninspiringly described as "drill, fill, and bill" dentists. Not so Dr. Patel! He loves his profession as much as he loves learning, extending his knowledge, developing his art, refining his abilities, and growing personally. In fact, he has been a real inspiration and role model to my son, who has also been a patient at A Gentle Touch for nearly 20 years. From what I understand, Dr. Patel is active in and associated with three study groups, and is on track for certification in a number of areas of specialty. Case in point: I have a new, reconstructed and aesthetically pleasing smile as the result of my being a "subject patient." What an extraordinary experience I had at the Las Vegas Global Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. In that intensive program one of the advanced concentrations Dr. Patel pursues is neuromuscular dentistry. I don't know about you, but I appreciate and respect a professional who resists complacency and remains highly motivated to self-improve. Ever learning, ever striving to be the best he can be for the sake of his patients and their quality of life: that's Dr. Prashant Patel. A very nice guy on the outside, but he is definitely out for the money. My husband had some major dental work done and cost us twice as much as he said it would. Did unnecessary procedures, pulled more teeth than he needed too and it cost us a small fortune. Told us that my 10 year old needed braces, got a second opinion and was told he did not (which is what I thought all along). Don't go to this guy, he is a rip off. read more
