I am the biggest baby when it comes to teeth. I had to remove a tooth.... I went to one orthopedic…read moresurgeon and walked out of his office. If I have the slightest fear I don't trust the doctor I won't do anything. My original dentist them Recomended I come here. I though I would need something ahead of time and lots of shots. I brought my headphones so I wouldn't hear anything. The assistants were very nice and insured me I would be okay. The dentist came in, we chatted he numbed me couple minutes after came back was talking about the person walking around outside. Then next thing you know, I'm done!!! I said no really?! I didn't feel any pain. I couldn't believe it. No cracking no pulling. Nothing!!! Dr. Doerfler is amazing!!! It's been 10 hours since I pulled my tooth out and I'm still ok.

From the moment Dr. Banakis came in the room, I was treated like a liar about my teeth being broken…read moreduring cancer surgery at Mayo Clinic, & that I had a referral to him from my Dentist, which I had with me & uploaded ahead of time, & that my Dentist was trying to preserve my teeth instead of capping them over the last 3 years, said "I don't know Dr. *****", then later states the first name of my dentist whom he claimed he never heard of. (I've been with my dentist for 51 years, & found out they golf together from my Dentist). I was at this appointment to rule out more cancer & TMJ problems, with ear pain & pressure radiating from ear, jaw & neck. My referring Dentist put on the referral for Banakis to do a CT of my TMJ, which Banakis refused to do, saying that even if he gave me one, he doesn't read them. Then tells the assistant to put on my record that I definitely do not have anything going on with my TMJ & there are no health issues. I had told him that there could be something in my Parotid Gland, & he said no. Then he bills me for $280 for this consultation that made me very uncomfortable & upset & just a waste of my time & money. Should be billed as a medical consult, but billing putting into my medical that they are dental, with the billing department saying that Oral Surgeons are all dental. They are not. And this was medical. I have loved my Dentist for 51 years. I like my current dentist. But this Oral Surgeon was horrible, & robbed me of $280 for nothing. I went to another Oral Surgeon who was absolutely great, & did not rob me for a consult, & even did a surgery on me that was needed with something that she & a dental hygienist saw right away, that Banakis did not even address. And.....it was medical & coded as such, something Banakis should have done. And, I do have issues with the TMJ & the Parotid Gland, & something else, that Banakis just blew off & put on my record that I had none of the above. Obviously I DO NOT recommend Schaumburg Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, or Dr. Banakis based on my experience. I never write reviews, but this one really was upsetting, as this is my health & money. Cancer is serious & I am a cancer patient & need to have medical & dental in my life that listen, understand, & treat their patients with the same respect as they wish to be treated. I got the impression that the only patients that they want to deal with are those that will be a huge income from major surgery right off the bat, & that anything else is wasting their time. If your jaw isn't moving at all, & you can't open your mouth to eat, you will be listened to because it is a big money ticket, & major surgery on you. Dr. Banakis told me that if I had TMJ problems, I wouldn't be able to open my mouth, have severe pain biting & eating & pretty much unable to do anything with my mouth. That is incorrect. This tells me that he only wants the severe cases with no where else to turn but to expensive surgery. Instead of also helping those that have a less severe case which doesn't require surgery yet. And putting on my file that I have nothing wrong, at all, and sending me on my way??? Without any proof of that??? Make your own choice on seeing this surgeon. But my personal experience was not acceptable to me or my current Oral Surgeon.

My daughter suffers from extreme anxiety and was freaking out at the thought of having this procedure. Dr. Ads could not have been nicer. He was patient and completely explained thw procedure. My daughter was good up until the day of the extractions. All that anxiety came flowing back. Dr. Ads' assistant was wonderful. She calmed my daughters nerves. Everything went great. Even had an issue with food getting caught and the office was closed. After a call to the out of office phone number, Dr Ads was able to make arrangements to come in and clean it out. He did not want her to try and do it. 100% would recommend!

When I was told I had to go to an oral surgeon for issues with my 19 year old implant, I figured I'd go to Oramax being that my past experience was good. My appointment was 10/2/25 with Dr. Ads. I had an xray done and the Dr said I needed to have the implant replaced but being that he could tell how shocked and stressed I was about the situation, he recommended meeting with another Dr about possible laser treatment for the issue first. As I was leaving, I asked him if I could still get a quote/estimate for replacing the implant. On Monday 10/6, I called the office to ask if I could have the panoramic x-ray sent to me. Being that this is a big procedure, I just wanted to get a second opinion. I was told that I didn't have a panoramic x-ray, that it was a CT scan. I told her whatever it was that I had last Friday, can I get a copy of that. She said it would have to be put on a disc and picked up after 24 hours. I also told her I was waiting for an estimate and she said I should have that within a few days. On Thursday 10/9 I called to see if the disc was ready for pick up. The women didn't know what I was talking about. She looked at my file and said I had a panoramic x-ray and said it could just be emailed over (OMG, that's what I said the first time and I was told I was wrong). She did email that over. I then told her I was still waiting for an estimate since last week. She connected me to someone in the billing department. The women told me I would need an implant removal, bone graphing and implant replacement. She assured me that she would get me an estimate Friday (the following day, 10/10) morning. On Wednesday 10/15, being that I still had not heard from anyone, I called to leave a message for the dr. The receptionist asked what I was leaving a message regarding and I said I had questions about the implant. She wanted to know what the exact questions were. I told her I wanted to know the urgency to do the procedure and listed off a few more questions. She said fine and that she'd have the Dr call me. It is now Monday 10/20/25 and I have no received a quote OR a call from the Dr!! Very disappointing!!!!! I have read negative comments about the office staff many times but figured since the Dr is the one that does the work and he's always highly recommended, I'd continue to struggle through the difficulty with the staff. There's always a chance they didn't relay the message to him but at this point I'm pretty much done. I'd rather not spend thousands of dollars at a place where I feel disrespected.

Excellent care! All…read morethe staff members were very supportive and informative throughout the process. I finished my treatment plan this week, with the delivery of my final crowns for 2 upper implants. I wish I'd done it sooner! This will be a long review... I hope this will help others who will relate to my story. I neglected my teeth for many years because I had an extreme aversion to dentists. I had some very painful and traumatic experiences in my youth. These events included drilling with no Novocain, and the extractions of wisdom teeth with inadequate anesthetic. Because of that, I stopped my dental care. (Bad idea!) Over the years, my neglect caused multiple broken and missing teeth, and often I was enduring substantial pain. I also have had asthma throughout most of my life. It had progressed to the point of me needing multiple nebulizer treatments every day, including one on the way to work just so I could make the walk from my parking garage to my office at work. It got to a point where I knew I had to do something, despite my fears. I had first gone to another competitor clinic in Hoffman Estates, and they suggested ripping out all my teeth, and going with 100% implants/prosthetic teeth. The cost quoted at the other clinic was about the same as a nicely equipped BMW 5 series. I had already decided to get at least 2 evaluations. I am so glad I did. When I visited Clear Choice, they did a similar exam, but... they concluded that MOST of my teeth were solid! Dr Wang explained that I did require 3 surgical extractions, 2 implants, and some crowns, but this was done at less than 1/3rd the cost of the other clinic! The Clear Choice team was empathetic to my fears and pain challenges, and they did an outstanding job with managing pain. I needed some very extensive surgery/extractions, and I chose to be sedated during that procedure. There was no pain during that whatsoever, and I only had minor pain after the surgery. I only took about 2 or 3 of the strong pain meds and managed the rest with ibuprofen. Before my surgery, I had extreme asthma, which required nebulizer treatments 4-5 times a day. Since the surgery, I don't use the nebulizer at all daily, except briefly during a bout with the flu in March. My health became dramatically better about 2 weeks after my surgery and ridding myself of infection. At my first follow up visit, Dr. Wang confirmed that there was a pretty extensive infection in my jaw, and they cleaned that out during the surgery. Now I also have almost no more knee pain, which previously had been a constant problem for me. I had no idea how much the infection in my jaw was exacerbating my other health issues! One suggestion if you do decide to do this... make sure to understand exactly what will be done by the Clear Choice team, and what, if anything, will need to be handled by your regular dentist. Clear Choice does the Implants and Prosthetic Dentistry, but regular fillings, etc.... will be handled by a general dentist. Make sure to ask if any additional work is appropriate if you still have some of your own teeth. I now have the confidence to go to my regular dentist, and I have also become religious about proper hygiene. If you are thinking about implants, get an evaluation from Clear Choice. You can trust them to do a proper evaluation, and not just do a one size fits all approach. I strongly recommend the professionals at Clear Choice.

While 2 other places did not eagerly advertise that necessary work (to avoid scaring me away), Clear Choice was NOT VERY CLEAR.

After scheduling online, I received a confirmation call from Jessica at the Schaumburg office. I asked a straightforward question: if I moved my aligner appointment to Oct 18, would I incur a fee? Instead of giving a clear yes/no, Jessica gave evasive answers, referenced unrelated scenarios (like a tooth being pulled), and brought up "three levels of cleaning." When I asked again for clarity, she seemed aggravated. I even asked, respectfully: "Do you understand what I'm asking, or should I explain it differently so it's clear?" At that point, Jessica hung up on me. As a new patient, this was unacceptable. It created the impression that the office is more concerned with structuring visits to maximize charges than providing straightforward, transparent answers. Patients deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect -- not evasive responses, irritation, and being hung up on. This experience has raised serious concerns about Aspen Dental's priorities and whether patient care is truly their focus.
